Jeremiah 48
1 Against Moab thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Woe to Nebo! for it is laid waste: Kiriathaim is confounded and taken: Misgab is confounded and dismayed.
১মোয়াব সম্বন্ধে বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর এই কথা বলেন: “ধিক নবো! কারণ ওটা তো ধ্বংস হয়েছে। কিরিয়াথয়িম ধরা পড়ল ও অসম্মানিত হল। তার দুর্গ অভিশপ্ত ও অপমানিত হল।
2 There shall be no more praise of Moab: in Heshbon they have devised evil against it; come, and let us cut it off from being a nation. Also thou shalt be cut down, O Madmen; the sword shall pursue thee.
২মোয়াবের সম্মান আর নেই। তার শত্রুরা হিশবোনে তার বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করল। তারা বলল, ‘এস, আমরা ঐ জাতিকে শেষ করে দিই। মদমেনা বিনষ্ট হবে একটি তরোয়াল তোমার পিছনে তাড়া করবে’।
3 A voice of crying shall be from Horonaim, violence and great destruction.
৩শোনো! হোরোণয়িম থেকে কান্নার শব্দ আসছে, যেখানে ধ্বংস ও বিনাশ রয়েছে।
4 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
৪মোয়াব ধ্বংস হয়েছে। তার শিশুরা কেঁদে উঠেছে।
5 For in the ascent of Luhith continual weeping shall go up; for in the descent of Horonaim the enemies have heard a cry of destruction.
৫লূহীতের পথে ওঠার দিন লোকে কেঁদেছে; কারণ হোরোণয়িমের ওঠার পথে ধ্বংসের জন্য চিত্কার শোনা গেছে।
6 Flee, save your lives, and be like the naked tree in the wilderness.
৬পালাও! নিজের নিজের প্রাণ রক্ষা কর ও মরুপ্রান্তের ঝোপের মত হও।
7 For because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity with his priests and his princes together.
৭কারণ তোমার কাজ ও সম্পত্তির উপর তোমার বিশ্বাসের জন্য তুমি বন্দী হবে। তখন কমোশ তার যাজকদের ও নেতাদের সঙ্গে বন্দী হয়ে দূরে চলে যাবে।
8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape: the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed, as the LORD hath spoken.
৮প্রত্যেকটি শহরে ধ্বংসকারী আসবে; কোন শহর রেহাই। উপত্যকা বিনষ্ট হবে এবং সমভূমির বিনাশ হবে, যেমন সদাপ্রভু বলেছেন।
9 Give wings to Moab, that it may flee and get away: for its cities shall be desolate, without any to dwell in them.
৯মোয়াবকে ডানা দাও, কারণ সে উড়ে যেতে পারে। তার শহরগুলি জনশূন্য হবে, যেখানে কেউ বাস করে না।
10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
১০সদাপ্রভুর কাজে যে লোক অলস, সে অভিশপ্ত! রক্তপাত থেকে যে তার তরোয়ালকে ফিরিয়ে নেয়, সে অভিশপ্ত।
11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed.
১১মোয়াব নিরাপত্তা অনুভব করেছে কারণ সে ছিল যুবক। সে তার আঙ্গুর রসের মত, যেটি কখনও এক পাত্র থেকে অন্য পাত্রে ঢালা হয়নি। সে কখনও বন্দীদশায় যায় নি। তাই তার স্বাদ চিরকাল সুন্দর; তার সুগন্ধের অপরিবর্তনশীল আছে।
12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send to him wanderers, that shall cause him to wander, and shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles.
১২তাই দেখ, সেই দিন আসছে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা যখন আমি তার কাছে তাদের পাঠাব, যারা তার সমস্ত পাত্র উল্টে ঢেলে দেবে ও পাত্রগুলি ছড়িয়ে দেবে।
13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.
১৩তখন মোয়াব কমোশের বিষয়ে লজ্জিত হবে, যেমন ইস্রায়েলের লোকেরা যেমন বৈথেলের উপর বিশ্বাস করে লজ্জিত হয়েছিল।
14 How say ye, We are mighty and strong men for the war?
১৪তোমরা কিভাবে বল, আমরা সৈনিক, শক্তিশালী যোদ্ধা?
15 Moab is laid waste, and gone up out of her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
১৫মোয়াব ধ্বংস হবে এবং তার শহরগুলি আক্রান্ত হবে; কারণ তার মনোনীত যুবকেরা হত্যার জায়গায় নেমে গেছে। এটা রাজার ঘোষণা, যাঁর নাম বাহিনীগণের সদাপ্রভুর।
16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.
১৬“মোয়াবের তাড়াতাড়ি পতন ঘটবে; তার দুঃখ তাড়াতাড়ি আসছে।
17 All ye that are about him, bemoan him; and all ye that know his name, say, How is the strong staff broken, and the beautiful rod!
১৭তোমরা যারা তার চারপাশে থাকো, তার জন্য বিলাপ কর, আর তোমরা যত লোক তার নাম জান, চিত্কার কর, ‘ধিক! শক্তিশালী রাজদণ্ড, গৌরবময় লাঠি ভেঙে গেছে’!
18 Thou daughter that dost inhabit Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab shall come upon thee, and he shall destroy thy strong holds.
১৮হে দীবোনে বসবাসকারী মেয়ে, তুমি নিজের গৌরবের জায়গা থেকে নেমে এস, শুকনো মাটিতে বস, কারণ মোয়াবের ধ্বংসকারী তোমার বিরুদ্ধে উঠে এসেছে, তোমার দুর্গগুলি ধ্বংস করেছে।
19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and watch; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, and say, What is done?
১৯হে অরোয়েরে বসবাসকারী মেয়ে, তুমি পথের পাশে দাঁড়িয়ে দেখ। যে পালিয়ে গেছে, তাকে জিজ্ঞাসা, বল, ‘কি হয়েছে?’
20 Moab is confounded; for it is broken down: wail and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is laid waste,
২০মোয়াব লজ্জিত হয়েছে, কারণ সে ছড়িয়ে পড়েছে। আর্তনাদ কর ও বিলাপ কর; সাহায্যের জন্য কাঁদ। অর্ণোন নদীর ধারে এই কথা প্রচার কর, ‘মোয়াব ধ্বংস হয়েছে’।
21 And judgment is come upon the plain country; upon Holon, and upon Jahazah, and upon Mephaath,
২১শাস্তি উপস্থিত হয়েছে সমভূমি, হোলন, যহস, মেফাৎ,
22 And upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Bethdiblathaim,
২২দীবোন, নবো, বৈৎ-দিব্লাথয়িম,
23 And upon Kiriathaim, and upon Bethgamul, and upon Bethmeon,
২৩কিরিয়াথয়িম, বৈৎ-গামূল, বৈৎ-মিয়োন,
24 And upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
২৪করিয়োৎ ও বস্রা এবং মোয়াব দেশের দূরের ও কাছের সমস্ত শহরগুলিতে।
25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.
২৫মোয়াবের শিং কেটে ফেলা হয়েছে; তার হাত ভেঙে গেছে।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
26 Make ye him drunk: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
২৬“তাকে মাতাল কর, কারণ সে আমার বিরুদ্ধে গর্ব করেছে। এখন মোয়াব বিরক্ত হয়ে নিজের বমির মধ্যে হাততালি দেবে; তাই সে হাসি পাত্র হবে।
27 For was not Israel a derision to thee? was he found among thieves? for since thou hast spoken of him, thou didst leap for joy.
২৭ইস্রায়েল কি তোমার হাসি পাত্র ছিল না? সে কি চোরদের মধ্যে ধরা পড়েছে যে, তুমি যতবার তার কথা বল, তত বার মাথা নাড়?
28 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock, and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the hole’s mouth.
২৮হে মোয়াবের বাসিন্দারা, শহর ছেড়ে যাও ও পাহাড়ের ওপরে শিবির কর। একটি ঘুঘুর মত হও, যে শিলার গর্তে মুখে বাসা বাঁধে।
29 We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud ) his loftiness, and his arrogance, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.
২৯আমরা মোয়াবের অহঙ্কারের কথা, তার বড়াই, তার ঔদ্ধত্য, তার গর্ব, তার আত্মগৌরভ এবং তার অন্তরের দম্ভের কথা শুনেছি।”
30 I know his wrath, saith the LORD; but it shall not be so; his lies shall not so effect it.
৩০এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা: “আমি নিজে তার বেপরোয়া কথাবার্তা জানি, যা কিছুই কাজের নয়।
31 Therefore will I wail for Moab, and I will cry out for all Moab; my heart shall mourn for the men of Kirheres.
৩১তাই আমি মোয়াবের জন্য বিলাপ করব, সমস্ত মোয়াবের জন্য দুঃখে চিত্কার করব, কীর-হেরেসের লোকদের জন্য বিলাপ করব।”
32 O vine of Sibmah, I will weep for thee with the weeping of Jazer: thy plants have gone over the sea, they reach even to the sea of Jazer: the spoiler hath fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.
৩২হে সিবমার আঙ্গুর লতা, আমি যাসেরের থেকে তোমার জন্য বেশী কাঁদব। তোমার ডালপালাগুলি নুনসমুদ্র পর্যন্ত ছড়িয়ে গেছে; সেগুলি যাসেরের সমুদ্র পর্যন্ত পৌঁছেছে। ধ্বংসকারীরা তোমার গরম কালের ফল ও আঙ্গুর রসে আক্রমণ করেছে।
33 And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to fail from the winepresses: none shall tread with shouting; their shouting shall be no shouting.
৩৩তাই মোয়াবের ফলের বাগান ও মোয়াব দেশ থেকে উল্লাস ও আনন্দ দূরে চলে গেছে। আমি আঙ্গুর কুণ্ডকে থেকে আঙ্গুর রস বিহীন করলাম; তারা আনন্দের চিৎকারের সঙ্গে মাড়াই করবে না। সেই চিত্কার আনন্দের চিৎকার নয়।
34 From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, and even to Jahaz, have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, as an heifer of three years old: for the waters also of Nimrim shall be desolate.
৩৪“তাদের কান্নার শব্দ হিশবোন থেকে ইলিয়ালী পর্যন্ত চিত্কার হচ্ছে, তার আওয়াজ যহস পর্যন্ত শোনা যাচ্ছে; সোয়র থেকে হোরোণয়িম পর্যন্ত, ইগ্লৎ-শলিশীয়া পর্যন্ত শব্দ হচ্ছে, কারণ নিম্রীমের জলও শুকিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
৩৫কারণ আমি তাদের নিঃশেষ করে দেব, যারা মোয়াবে উঁচু স্থানে বলিদান করে” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা, “এবং তাদের দেবতাদের কাছে ধূপ জ্বালায়।”
36 Therefore my heart shall sound for Moab like pipes, and my heart shall sound like pipes for the men of Kirheres: because the riches that he hath gotten have perished.
৩৬তাই মোয়াবের জন্য আমার অন্তর বাঁশীর সুরের মত করে বিলাপ করছে। কীর-হেরেসের লোকদের জন্য আমার অন্তর বাঁশীর সুরের মত করে বিলাপ করছে। তাদের সঞ্চয় করা সম্পদ শেষ হয়ে গেছে।
37 For every head shall be bald, and every beard clipped: upon all the hands shall be cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
৩৭প্রত্যেক মাথা কেশবিহীন ও প্রত্যেক দাড়ি কমানো হল; প্রত্যেকের হাতে কাটাকুটি ও কোমরে চট জড়ানো হল।
38 There shall be lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in its streets: for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which is no pleasure, saith the LORD.
৩৮মোয়াবের সমস্ত ছাদের উপরে ও শহরের চকে বিলাপ শোনা যাচ্ছে, “কারণ যে পাত্র কেউ চায় না, সেই রকম করে আমি মোয়াবকে ভেঙে ফেলেছি।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
39 They shall wail, saying, How is it broken down! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! so shall Moab be a derision and a dismaying to all them about him.
৩৯“সে কেমন চড়িয়ে পরেছে! তারা কেমন করে তাদের জন্য বিলাপ করছে! মোয়াব লজ্জায় কেমন করে তার পিঠ ফিরিয়েছে! এই ভাবে মোয়াব তার চারপাশের সমস্ত লোকদের কাছে উপহাস ও আতঙ্কের পাত্র হয়েছে।”
40 For thus saith the LORD; Behold, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread his wings over Moab.
৪০কারণ সদাপ্রভু এই কথা বলেন, “দেখ, ঐ শত্রু ঈগলের মত উড়ে আসবে এবং মোয়াবের উপর তার ডানা ছড়িয়ে দেবে।
41 Kerioth is taken, and the strong holds are surprised, and the mighty men’s hearts in Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
৪১করিয়োত বন্দী হয়েছে এবং তার দুর্গগুলি দখল হয়েছে। সেই দিন মোয়াবের সৈন্যদের অন্তর প্রসব যন্ত্রণা ভোগকারিণী স্ত্রীলোকের অন্তরের মত হবে।
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.
৪২মোয়াব একজন লোকের মত ধ্বংস করা হবে, কারণ সে আমি, সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে অহঙ্কারী হয়েছে।
43 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.
৪৩হে মোয়াবের বাসিন্দা, তোমাদের উপর আতঙ্ক, খাদ ও ফাঁদ আসছে।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
44 He that fleeth from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their punishment, saith the LORD.
৪৪“যে কেউ আতঙ্কিত হয়ে পালাবে সে খাদে পড়বে, যে কেউ খাদ থেকে উঠে আসবে সে ফাঁদে ধরা পড়বে; কারণ আমি তার বিরুদ্ধে তার উপর প্রতিশোধ নেবার দিন আনব।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা।
45 They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
৪৫“হিশবোনের ছায়াতে পালিয়ে যাওয়া লোকেরা শক্তিহীন হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকবে, কারণ হিশবোন থেকে আগুন ও সীহোনের মধ্যে থেকে আগুনের শিখা বের হবে। তা মোয়াবের কপাল ও গোলমাল করা লোকেদের মাথার খুলি গ্রাস করবে।
46 Woe be to thee, O Moab! the people of Chemosh perisheth: for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters captives.
৪৬হে মোয়াব, ধিক তোমাকে! লোকেরা ধ্বংস হয়েছে; কারণ তোমার ছেলেদের দূর দেশে বন্দী করে নিয়ে গেছে এবং তোমার মেয়েরাও বন্দীদশায় আছে।
47 Yet will I bring again the captivity of Moab in the latter days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
৪৭কিন্তু পরবর্তী দিনের আমি মোয়াবের অবস্থার পুনরুদ্ধার করব।” এটা সদাপ্রভুর ঘোষণা। মোয়াবের বিচার এখানেই শেষ।
