Hebrews 8

1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is seated on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

Ahora bien, en las cosas que estamos diciendo, el punto principal es éste: tenemos tal sumo sacerdote, que se sentó a la derecha del trono de la Majestad en los cielos,

2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

un servidor del santuario y del verdadero tabernáculo que el Señor levantó, no el hombre.

3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices: therefore it is of necessity that this man should have somewhat also to offer.

Porque todo sumo sacerdote está destinado a ofrecer tanto ofrendas como sacrificios. Por lo tanto, es necesario que este sumo sacerdote también tenga algo que ofrecer.

4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:

Porque si estuviera en la tierra, no sería sacerdote en absoluto, ya que hay sacerdotes que ofrecen las ofrendas según la ley,

5 Who serve to the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished by God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shown to thee in the mount.

que sirven de copia y sombra de las cosas celestiales, tal como Moisés fue advertido por Dios cuando iba a hacer el tabernáculo, pues le dijo: “Mira, todo lo harás según el modelo que se te mostró en la montaña.”

6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Pero ahora ha obtenido un ministerio más excelente, por cuanto es también el mediador de un pacto mejor, que sobre mejores promesas ha sido dado como ley.

7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

Porque si aquel primer pacto hubiera sido impecable, no se habría buscado lugar para un segundo.

8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

Porque encontrando faltas en ellos, dijo, “He aquí que vienen los días”, dice el Señor, “que haré un nuevo pacto con la casa de Israel y con la casa de Judá;

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

no según el pacto que hice con sus padres el día en que los tomé de la mano para sacarlos de la tierra de Egipto; porque no continuaron en mi pacto, y no les hice caso”, dice el Señor.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

“Porque éste es el pacto que haré con la casa de Israel después de esos días”, dice el Señor: “Pondré mis leyes en su mente; También los escribiré en su corazón. Yo seré su Dios, y serán mi pueblo.

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

No enseñarán a cada hombre ni a su conciudadano ni ninguno a su hermano, diciendo: “Conoce al Señor”. porque todos me conocerán, desde él más pequeño hasta él ayor de ellos.

12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Porque seré misericordioso con su injusticia. No me acordaré más de sus pecados y de sus actos ilícitos”.

13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and groweth old is ready to vanish away.

Al decir: “Un nuevo pacto”, ha dejado obsoleto el primero. Pero lo que se vuelve obsoleto y envejece está a punto de desaparecer.
