Hebrews 8
1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is seated on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
Ora a suma do que temos dito é que temos um sumo sacerdote tal, que está assentado nos céus à dextra do trono da magestade,
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
Ministro do santuário, e verdadeiro tabernáculo, o qual o Senhor fundou, e não o homem.
3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices: therefore it is of necessity that this man should have somewhat also to offer.
Porque todo o sumo sacerdote é constituido para oferecer dons e sacrifícios; pelo que era necessário que este também tivesse alguma coisa que oferecer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
Porque, se ainda estivesse na terra, nem tão pouco sacerdote seria, havendo ainda sacerdotes que oferecessem dons segundo a lei,
5 Who serve to the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished by God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shown to thee in the mount.
Os quais servem de exemplar e sombra das coisas celestiais, como Moisés divinamente foi avisado, estando já para acabar o tabernáculo: porque, Olha, disse, faze tudo conforme o modelo que no monte se te mostrou.
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
Mas agora alcançou ministério tanto mais excelente, quanto é mediador dum melhor concerto, o qual está confirmado em melhores promessas.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
Porque, se aquele primeiro fôra irrepreensível, nunca se teria buscado lugar para o segundo.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Porque, repreendendo-os, lhes diz: Eis que virão dias, diz o Senhor, em que com a casa de Israel e com a casa de Judá estabelecerei um novo concerto,
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
Não segundo o concerto que fiz com seus pais no dia em que os tomei pela mão, para os tirar da terra do Egito; porque não permaneceram naquele meu concerto, e eu para eles não atentei, diz o Senhor.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
Porque este é o concerto que depois daqueles dias farei com a casa de Israel, diz o Senhor; porei as minhas leis no seu entendimento, e em seu coração as escreverei: e eu lhes serei por Deus, e eles me serão por povo:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
E não ensinará cada um ao seu próximo, nem cada um ao seu irmão, dizendo: Conhece o Senhor; porque todos me conhecerão, desde o menor deles até ao maior.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Porque serei misericordioso para com suas injustiças, e de seus pecados e de suas prevaricações não me lembrarei mais.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and groweth old is ready to vanish away.
Dizendo Novo, envelheceu o primeiro. Ora, o que foi tornado velho, e se envelhece, perto está de se esvaecer.
