< 2 Samuel 9 >

1 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Tevita, “ʻOku kei toe ni ha tokotaha ʻi he fale ʻo Saula, koeʻuhi ke u fakahā ha ʻofa ki ai koeʻuhi ko Sonatane?”
2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba. And when they had called him to David, the king said to him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant is he.
Pea naʻe ʻi he fale ʻo Saula ʻae tamaioʻeiki ʻaia naʻe hingoa ko Sipa. Pea ʻi heʻenau ui mai ia [ke haʻu ]kia Tevita, naʻe pehē ʻe he tuʻi kiate ia, “Ko Sipa koe?” Pea naʻe pehē mai ʻe ia, “Ko hoʻo tamaioʻeiki au.”
3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may show the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan hath yet a son, who is lame in his feet.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe he tuʻi, “ʻOku ʻikai toe koā ha tokotaha ʻoe fale ʻo Saula, koeʻuhi ke u fakahā kiate ia ʻae ngāue lelei fakaʻotua kiate ia?” Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sipa ki he tuʻi, “ʻOku kei [moʻui ]ha foha ʻo Sonatane ʻoku ketu.”
4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.
Pea naʻe pehē ʻe he tuʻi kiate ia, “ʻOku nofo ia ki fē?” Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Sipa ki he tuʻi, “Vakai, ʻoku nofo ia ʻi he fale ʻo Makili, ko e foha ʻo ʻAmieli ʻi Lotipale.”
5 Then king David sent, and brought him from the house of Machir, the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.
Pea naʻe toki fekau ʻe Tevita ke ʻomi ia mei he fale ʻo Makili, ko e foha ʻo ʻAmieli, mei Lotipale.
6 Now when Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, had come to David, he fell on his face, and did reverence. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he answered, Behold thy servant!
Pea ko eni, ʻi heʻene haʻu kia Tevita, ʻa Mifiposeti ko e foha ʻo Sonatane, ko e foha ʻo Saula, naʻa ne tō hifo ki hono mata, ʻo ne fai fakaʻapaʻapa. Pea naʻe pehē ʻe Tevita, “Mifiposeti.” Pea naʻe tali ʻe ia, ʻo pehē, “Vakai ko hoʻo tamaioʻeiki au!”
7 And David said to him, Fear not: for I will surely show thee kindness for the sake of Jonathan thy father, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.
8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?
Pea naʻa ne punou hifo ia, ʻo ne pehē, “Ko e hā hoʻo tamaioʻeiki ke ke sio ai ki ha kulī mate ʻo hangē ko au?
9 Then the king called to Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said to him, I have given to thy master’s son all that pertained to Saul and to all his house.
Pea naʻe toki ui ʻe he tuʻi kia Sipa ko e tamaioʻeiki ʻa Saula, ʻo ne pehē kiate ia, “Kuo u foaki ki he foha ʻo hoʻo ʻeiki, ʻae meʻa kotoa pē naʻe ʻo Saula pea mo hono fale kotoa pē.
10 Thou therefore, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in the fruits, that thy master’s son may have food to eat: but Mephibosheth thy master’s son shall eat bread always at my table. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
Pea ko ia te ke ngoueʻi ʻae fonua maʻana, ʻe koe mo hoʻo ngaahi foha, pea mo hoʻo kau tamaioʻeiki, pea te ke utu mai, koeʻuhi ke ai ha meʻakai ki he foha ʻo hoʻo ʻeiki: ka ʻe kai ʻe Mifiposeti ko e foha ʻo hoʻo ʻeiki, ʻi hoku keinangaʻanga maʻuaipē.” Pea ko eni naʻe ʻia Sipa ʻae fānau tangata ʻe toko hongofulu ma nima, mo e kau tamaioʻeiki ʻe toko uofulu.
11 Then said Ziba to the king, According to all that my lord the king hath commanded his servant, so shall thy servant do. As for Mephibosheth, said the king, he shall eat at my table, as one of the king’s sons.
Pea naʻe toki pehē ai ʻe Sipa ki he tuʻi, “ʻO hangē ko ia kotoa pē kuo fekau ʻe hoku ʻeiki ko e tuʻi ki heʻene tamaioʻeiki, ʻe pehē hono fai ʻe hoʻo tamaioʻeiki.” [Ka naʻe pehē ʻe he tuʻi, ]“ʻE kai ʻa Mifiposeti ʻi hoku keinangaʻanga ʻoʻoku ʻo hangē ko ha tokotaha ʻi he ngaahi foha ʻoe tuʻi.”
12 And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Micha. And all that dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth.
Pea naʻe maʻu ʻe Mifiposeti ʻae foha siʻi ʻaia naʻe ui ko Mika. Pea ko kinautolu kotoa pē naʻe nofo ʻi he fale ʻo Sipa naʻa nau tauhi kia Mifiposeti.
13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem: for he ate continually at the king’s table; and was lame in both his feet.
Ko ia naʻe nofo ai ʻa Mifiposeti ki Selūsalema; he naʻa ne kai maʻuaipē ʻi he keinangaʻanga ʻoe tuʻi; pea naʻe ketu hono vaʻe fakatouʻosi.
