2 John 1
1 The elder to the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
L'ancien, à Kyria l'élue et à ses enfants que j'aime véritablement (et non pas moi seul, mais encore tous ceux qui ont connu la vérité),
à cause de la vérité qui demeure en nous et qui sera avec nous pour l'éternité: (aiōn g165)
3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
avec nous sera la grâce, la miséricorde et la paix de la part de Dieu le Père et de la part de Jésus-Christ le fils du Père, dans la vérité et dans l'amour!
4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
J'ai été très fort réjoui de trouver de tes enfants qui marchent dans la vérité, comme nous en avons reçu le commandement du Père.
5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
Et maintenant je te prie, Kyria (non point comme si je t'adressais un commandement nouveau, mais c'est celui que nous avions dès le commencement), que nous nous aimions les uns les autres.
6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
Et voici en quoi consiste l'amour: c'est que nous marchions selon Ses commandements; ce commandement existe, comme vous l'avez ouï dès le commencement, afin que vous y conformiez votre conduite.
7 For many deceivers have entered into the world, who confess not Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
Comme plusieurs séducteurs ont fait irruption dans le monde, lesquels ne confessent point Jésus-Christ venu en chair (c'est là le séducteur et l'antechrist),
8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
prenez garde à vous-mêmes, afin que vous ne perdiez pas le fruit de notre travail, mais que vous receviez une pleine récompense.
9 Whoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
Quiconque va en avant et ne demeure pas attaché à l'enseignement de Christ ne possède point Dieu; celui qui demeure attaché à cet enseignement, celui-là possède et le Père et le Fils.
10 If any one cometh to you, and bringeth not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither wish him greetings:
Si quelqu'un vient à vous et n'apporte pas cet enseignement, ne le recevez pas dans votre maison et ne lui dites pas: salut;
11 For he that wisheth him greetings is partaker of his evil deeds.
car celui qui lui dit: salut, participe à ses mauvaises œuvres,
12 Having many things to write to you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come to you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
Quoique j'eusse beaucoup de choses à vous écrire, je n'ai pas voulu recourir au papier et à l'encre, mais j'espère me rendre auprès de vous et vous parler bouche à bouche, afin que votre joie soit complète.
13 The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
Les enfants de ta sœur l'élue te saluent.
