< Psalms 3 >

1 A psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. Yahweh, how many are my enemies! Many have risen against me.
Psalmus David, Cum fugeret a facie Absalom filii sui. Domine quid multiplicati sunt qui tribulant me? multi insurgunt adversum me.
2 Many say about me, “There is no help for him from God.” (Selah)
Multi dicunt animae meae: Non est salus ipsi in Deo eius.
3 But you, Yahweh, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
Tu autem Domine susceptor meus es, gloria mea, et exaltans caput meum.
4 I lift up my voice to Yahweh, and he answers me from his holy hill. (Selah)
Voce mea ad Dominum clamavi: et exaudivit me de monte sancto suo.
5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for Yahweh protected me.
Ego dormivi, et soporatus sum: et exurrexi, quia Dominus suscepit me.
6 I will not be afraid of the multitudes of people who have set themselves against me on every side.
Non timebo millia populi circumdantis me: exurge Domine: salvum me fac Deus meus.
7 Rise up, Yahweh! Save me, my God! For you will hit all my enemies on the jaw; you will break the teeth of the wicked.
Quoniam tu percussisti omnes adversantes mihi sine causa: dentes peccatorum contrivisti.
8 Salvation comes from Yahweh. May your blessings be on your people. (Selah)
Domini est salus: et super populum tuum benedictio tua.
