Psalms 10
1 Why, Yahweh, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
Herre, hvi träder du så långt ifrå fördöljer dig i nödenes tid?
2 Because of their arrogance, wicked people chase the oppressed; but please let the wicked be trapped by their own schemes that they have devised.
Så länge den ogudaktige öfverhandena hafver, måste den elände lida; de hålla med hvarannan, och upptänka arga list.
3 For the wicked person boasts of his deepest desires; he blesses the greedy and insults Yahweh.
Ty den ogudaktige berömmer sig af sitt sjelfsvåld; och den giruge välsignar sig, och lastar Herran.
4 The wicked man has a raised face; he does not seek God. He never thinks about God because he does not care at all about him.
Den ogudaktige är så stolt och vred, att han frågar efter ingen; uti alla sina tankar håller han Gud för intet.
5 He is secure at all times, but your righteous decrees are too high for him; he snorts at all his enemies.
Han håller fram med det han förehafver; dine domar äro fjerran ifrå honom; han handlar högmodeliga med alla sina fiendar.
6 He says in his heart,” I will never fail; throughout all generations I will not meet adversity.”
Han säger i sitt hjerta: Jag varder aldrig omstött; det skall ingen nöd hafva i evig tid.
7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceptive, harmful words; his tongue injures and destroys.
Hans mun är full med bannor, falskhet och bedrägeri; hans tunga kommer mödo och arbete åstad.
8 He waits in ambush near the villages; in the secret places he murders the innocent; his eyes look for some helpless victim.
Han sitter i försåt i gårdomen; han dräper de oskyldiga hemliga; hans ögon vakta efter de fattiga.
9 He lurks in secret like a lion in the thicket; he lies in wait to catch the oppressed. He catches the oppressed when he pulls in his net.
Han vaktar i hemlig rum, såsom ett lejon i kulone; han vaktar efter, att han må gripa den elända; och han griper honom, då han drager honom i sitt nät.
10 His victims are crushed and beaten down; they fall into his strong nets.
Han förkrossar och nedertrycker, och till jordena slår den fattiga med våld.
11 He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; he covers his face; he will not bother to look.”
Han säger i sitt hjerta: Gud hafver förgätit det; han hafver bortdolt sitt ansigte, han ser det aldrig.
12 Arise, Yahweh! Lift up your hand, God! Do not forget the oppressed.
Statt upp, Herre Gud; upphäf dina hand; förgät icke den elända.
13 Why does the wicked man reject God and say in his heart, “You will not hold me accountable”?
Hvi skall den ogudaktige försmäda Gud, och i sitt hjerta säga: Du sköter der intet om?
14 You have taken notice, for you always see the one who inflicts the misery and sorrow. The helpless entrusts himself to you; you rescue the fatherless.
Du ser det ju; förty du skådar vedermödo och jämmer, det står i dina händer; de fattige befalla det dig; du äst de faderlösas hjelpare.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil man. Make him account for his evil deeds, which he thought you would not discover.
Bryt sönder dens ogudaktigas arm, och besök det onda; så skall man hans ogudaktiga väsende intet mer finna.
16 Yahweh is King forever and ever; the nations are driven out of his land.
Herren är Konung alltid och evinnerliga; Hedningarna måste förgås utu hans land.
17 Yahweh, you have heard the needs of the oppressed; you strengthen their heart, you listen to their prayer;
De fattigas trängtan hörer du, Herre; deras hjerta är visst, att ditt öra aktar deruppå;
18 You defend the fatherless and the oppressed so that no man on the earth will cause terror again.
Att du skaffar dem faderlösa och fattiga rätt; att menniskan icke mer skall högmodas på jordene.
