Luke 3
1 In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar—while Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip was tetrarch of the region of Ituraea and Trachonitis, and Lysanias was tetrarch of Abilene,
第一款 洗者ヨハネの先駆 チベリオ、セザルの在位の十五年、ポンシオ、ピラトはユデアの総督たり、ヘロデはガリレア分國の王たり、其兄弟フィリッポはイチュレア及トラコニト地方分國の王たり、リサニアはアビリナ分國の王たり、
2 during the high priesthood of Annas and Caiaphas—the word of God came to John son of Zechariah in the wilderness.
アンナとカイファとは司祭長たりし時、ザカリアの子ヨハネ、荒野に在りて主の御言を蒙り、
3 He went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.
ヨルダン[河]の全地方を巡りて、罪の赦を得させん為に、改心の洗禮を宣傳へたり。
4 As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, “A voice of one calling out in the wilderness, 'Make ready the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.
預言者イザヤの言の書に録して「荒野に呼はる者の聲ありて曰く、汝等主の道を備へ、其徑を直くせよ。
5 Every valley will be filled, and every mountain and hill will be made low, and the crooked roads will be made straight, and the uneven places will be built into roads,
凡ての谷は填められ、凡ての山丘は坦され、曲れるは直くせられ、険しき處は平なる路となり、
6 and all flesh will see the salvation of God.'”
人皆神の救を見ん」とあるに違はず。
7 So John said to the crowds who were coming out to be baptized by him, “You offspring of vipers! Who warned you to run away from the wrath that is coming?
然てヨハネ、己に洗せられんとて出來れる群衆に云ひけるは、蝮の裔よ、來るべき怒を遁るる事を、誰か汝等に教へしぞ。
8 Therefore, produce fruits that are worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say within yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father,' for I tell you that God is able to raise up children for Abraham from these stones.
然れば改心の相當なる果を結べよ。又我等の父にアブラハム在りと云はんとすること勿れ。蓋我汝等に告ぐ、神は是等の石よりアブラハムの為に子等を起すことを得給ふ。
9 Even now the ax is set against the root of the trees. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire.”
既に斧樹の根に置かれたり。故に総て善き果を結ばざる樹は、伐られて火に投入れらるべし、と。
10 Then the crowds kept asking him, saying, “What then are we to do?”
群衆ヨハネに問ひて、然らば我等何を為すべきぞ、と云ひければ、
11 He answered and said to them, “If someone has two tunics, he should share it with a person who has none, and the one having food should do the same.”
彼答へて、二枚の肌着を有てる人は有たぬ人に與へよ、食物を有てる人も同じ様にせよ、と云ひ居たり。
12 Tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what must we do?”
又税吏ありて、洗せられんとて來り、師よ、我等何を為すべきぞ、と云ひしかば、
13 He said to them, “Do not collect more money than you have been ordered to collect.”
ヨハネ彼等に向ひ、汝等は定まりたる物の外、何をも取ること勿れ、と云へり。
14 Some soldiers also asked him, saying, “What about us? What must we do?” He said to them, “Do not take money from anyone by force, and do not accuse anyone falsely. Be content with your wages.”
兵卒も亦之に問ひて、我等は何を為すべきぞ、と云へば、ヨハネ彼等に向ひ、汝等は、誰をも悩ますこと勿れ、又讒訴すること勿れ、己が給料を以て足れりとせよ、と云へり。
15 Now as the people were eagerly expecting the Christ to come, everyone was wondering in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Christ.
人民は待佗びて、ヨハネを或はキリストならんと、皆心に推量りつつありければ、
16 John answered by saying to them all, “As for me, I baptize you with water, but someone is coming who is more powerful than I, and I am not worthy even to untie the strap of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
ヨハネ答へて人々に云ひけるは、實に我は水にて汝等を洗す、然れど我に優りて力或もの将に來らんとす、我は其履の紐を解くにも足らず。彼は聖霊と火とにて汝等を洗し給ふべし。
17 His winnowing fork is in his hand to thoroughly clear off his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his storehouse. But he will burn up the chaff with fire that can never be put out.”
彼の手に箕ありて其禾場を潔め、麦は倉に収め、殻は滅えざる火にて焼き給ふべし、と。
18 With many other exhortations also, John preached good news to the people.
ヨハネ尚多くの事を人に教へて、福音を宣べ居たり。
19 When Herod the tetrarch had been reproved for marrying his brother's wife Herodias, and for all the other evil things that Herod had done,
然れど分國の王ヘロデ、其兄弟の妻ヘロヂァデの事に就き、又自ら為せる凡ての惡事に就きてヨハネに諌められければ、
20 he added this to them all, that he locked John up in prison.
諸の惡事に今一を加へてヨハネを監獄に閉籠めたりき。
21 Now it came about, when all the people were baptized, Jesus also was baptized, and while he was praying, the heavens opened,
第二款 イエズス自身の準備 人民挙りて洗せらるる時、イエズスも洗せられて祈り給ふに、天開け、
22 and the Holy Spirit in bodily form came down on him like a dove, and a voice came from heaven, “You are my Son, whom I love. I am pleased with you.”
聖霊形に顕れて、鴿の如くイエズスの上に降り給ひ、又天より聲して、汝は我愛子なり、我汝によりて心を安んぜり、と曰へり。
23 When Jesus began his ministry, he was about thirty years of age. He was the son (as it was assumed) of Joseph, the son of Heli,
イエズス齢凡三十にして[聖役を]始め給ひ、人にはヨセフの子と思はれ居給ひしが、ヨセフの父はヘリ、其父はマタト、
24 the son of Matthat, the son of Levi, the son of Melchi, the son of Jannai, the son of Joseph.
其父はレヴィ、其父はメルキ、其父はヤンネ、其父はヨゼフ、
25 Joseph was the son of Mattathias, the son of Amos, the son of Nahum, the son of Esli, the son of Naggai,
其父はマタチヤ、其父はアモス、其父はナホム、其父はヘスリ、其父はナッゲ、
26 the son of Maath, the son of Mattathias, the son of Semein, the son of Josech, the son of Joda.
其父はマハト、其父はマタチヤ、其父はセメイ、其父はヨゼフ、其父はユダ、
27 Joda was the son of Joanan, the son of Rhesa, the son of Zerubbabel, the son of Salathiel, the son of Neri,
其父はヨハンナ、其父はレサ、其父はゾロバベル、其父はサラチエル、其父はネリ、
28 the son of Melchi, the son of Addi, the son of Cosam, the son of Elmadam, the son of Er,
其父はメルキ、其父はアッヂ、其父はコサン、其父はエルマダン、其父はヘル、
29 the son of Joshua, the son of Eliezer, the son of Jorim, the son of Matthat, the son of Levi.
其父はイエズ、其父はエリエゼル、其父はヨリム、其父はマタト、其父はレヴィ、
30 Levi was the son of Simeon, the son of Judah, the son of Joseph, the son of Jonam, the son of Eliakim,
其父はシメオン、其父はユダ、其父はヨセフ、其父はヨナ、其父はエリヤキム、
31 the son of Melea, the son of Menna, the son of Mattatha, the son of Nathan, the son of David,
其父はメレヤ、其父はメンナ、其父はマタタ、其父はナタン、其父はダヴィド、
32 the son of Jesse, the son of Obed, the son of Boaz, the son of Salmon, the son of Nahshon.
其父はイエッセ、其父はオベド、其父はボオズ、其父はサルモン、其父はナアッソン、
33 Nahshon was the son of Amminadab, the son of Admin, the son of Arni, the son of Hezron, the son of Perez, the son of Judah,
其父はアミナダブ、其父はアラム、其父はエスロン、其父はファレス、其父はユダ、
34 the son of Jacob, the son of Isaac, the son of Abraham, the son of Terah, the son of Nahor,
其父はヤコブ、其父はイザアク、其父はアブラハム、其父はタレ、其父はナコル、
35 the son of Serug, the son of Reu, the son of Peleg, the son of Eber, the son of Shelah.
其父はサルグ、其父はラガウ、其父はファレグ、其父はヘベル、其父はサレ、
36 Shelah was the son of Cainan, the son of Arphaxad, the son of Shem, the son of Noah, the son of Lamech,
其父はカイナン、其父はアルファクサド、其父はセム、其父はノエ、其父はラメク、
37 the son of Methuselah, the son of Enoch, the son of Jared, the son of Mahalaleel, the son of Cainan,
其父はマチュサレ、其父はエノク、其父はヤレド、其父はマラレエル、其父はカイナン、
38 the son of Enos, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
其父はヘノス、其父はセト、其父はアダム、其父は神なり。
