< Ezekiel 41 >

1 Then the man brought me into the temple's holy place and measured the doorposts—six cubits in width on either side.
Then he took me unto the temple, —and measured the projection six cubits broad on this side and six cubits broad on that side, the breadth of the tent.
2 The width of the doorway was ten cubits; the wall on each side was five cubits in length. Then the man measured the dimensions of the holy place—forty cubits in length and twenty cubits in width.
And the breadth of the entrance was ten cubits and the sides of the entrance were five cubits on this side and five cubits on that side —and he measured the length thereof, forty cubits, and the breadth, twenty cubits.
3 Then the man went into the very holy place and measured the posts of the doorway—two cubits, and the doorway was six cubits in width. The walls on either side were seven cubits in width.
Then went he inwards, and measured the projection of the entrance, two cubits, —and the entrance itself was six cubits, and the sides of the entrance seven cubits:
4 Then he measured the room's length—twenty cubits. Its width—twenty cubits to the front of the temple hall. Then he said to me, “This is the most holy place.”
so he measured the length thereof twenty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits, at the front of the temple.
5 Then the man measured the wall of the house—it was six cubits thick. The width of each side room around the house was four cubits in width.
Then said he unto me This! is the holy of holies. Then measured he the wall of the house six cubits, —and the breadth of the side-chamber, four cubits round about on every side of the house round about.
6 There were side rooms on three levels, one room above another, thirty rooms on each level. There were ledges around the wall of the house, to support all of the side rooms, for there was no support put in the wall of the house.
And the side-chambers, one over another were three, and that thirty times, and they entered into the wall which pertained to the house for the side-chambers round about on every side that they might have support, -and yet not have support in the wall of the house itself.
7 So the side rooms widened and went around going up, for the house went around higher and higher all around; the rooms widened as the house went up, and a stairway went up to the highest level, through the middle level.
And there was a broadening and a winding about higher and higher to the side-chambers, for the circuit of the house! was higher and higher round about on every side of the house, for this cause was there a broadening of the house upwards, —and from the lower, one ascended to the higher, by that which was in the middle,
8 Then I saw a raised part all around the house, the foundation for the side chambers; it measured a full stick in height—six cubits.
Then saw I that the house had a height round about on every side, —the foundations of the side- chambers, a full reed, six cubits to the joining.
9 The width of the wall of the side rooms on the outside was five cubits. There was an open space to the outside of these rooms in the sanctuary.
The breadth of the wall which pertained to the side-chamber on the outside was five cubits, - and that which was left vacant between the side-chambers which pertained to the house.
10 On the other side of this open space were the priests' outer side rooms; this space was twenty cubits in width all around the sanctuary.
And between the chambers, was a breadth of twenty cubits round about the house round about on every side,
11 There were doors into the side rooms from another open space—one doorway was on the north side, and the other on the south side. The width of this open area was five cubits all around.
And the entrance of the side-chamber, was at the vacant space, one entrance toward the north, and another entrance, toward the south, —and the breadth of the place left vacant was five cubits round about on every side.
12 The building that faced the courtyard on the west side was seventy cubits in width. Its wall measured five cubits thick all around, and it was ninety cubits in length.
And the building which was toward the front of the secluded place on the side toward the west was in breadth seventy cubits, and the wall of the building was five cubits in breadth round about on every side, -and the length thereof ninety cubits.
13 Then the man measured the sanctuary—one hundred cubits in length. The separated building, its wall, and the courtyard also measured one hundred cubits in length.
And he measured the house, in length, a hundred cubits, —and the secluded place and the structure and the walls thereof, in length, a hundred cubits.
14 The width of the front of the courtyard in front of the sanctuary was also one hundred cubits.
And the breadth of the front of the house and the secluded place toward the east, a hundred cubits.
15 Then the man measured the length of the building behind the sanctuary, to its west, and the galleries on either side—one hundred cubits. The holy place and the portico,
And he measured the length of the building against the front of the secluded place which was over the hinder part thereof and the galleries thereof on this side and on that side a hundred cubits, —with the inner temple and the porches of the court:
16 the inner walls and the windows, including the narrow windows, and the galleries all around on three levels, were all paneled in wood.
the entrance spaces and the latticed windows and the galleries round about their three stories, over against the entrance spaces wainscoted with wood, round about on every side, —and from the ground up to the windows, and the windows, were covered;
17 Above the entryway to the inner sanctuary and spaced along the walls there was a measured pattern.
unto the space above the entrance even unto the inner house and without and against all the wall round about on every side within and without, were the measures
18 It was decorated with cherubim and palm trees; with a palm tree between each cherub, and each cherub had two faces:
And it was made with cherubim and palm-trees, —with a palm-tree between cherub and cherub, and two faces had each cherub;
19 the face of a man looked toward a palm tree on one side, and the face of a young lion looked toward a palm tree on the other side. They were carved all around the entire house.
and, the face of a man, was toward the palm-tree on this side, and, the face of a young lion, was toward the palm-tree on that side, —[thus was it] made unto all the house, round about on every side.
20 From the ground to above the doorway, cherubim and palm trees were carved on the outer wall of the house.
From the ground as far as the space above the entrance: were the cherubim and the palm-trees made.
21 The gate posts of the holy place were square. Their appearance was like the appearance of
As for the wall of the temple, the door-posts were squared, —and as for the face of the holy place, the appearance was like the appearance [of the temple].
22 the wooden altar in front of the holy place, which was three cubits high and two cubits in length on each side. Its corner posts, base, and frame were made of wood. Then the man said to me, “This is the table that stands before Yahweh.”
The altar, was of wood, three cubits in height and the length thereof, two cubits and the corners thereof and the length thereof and the walls thereof were of wood, —then spake he unto me saying, This, is the table, which is before Yahweh.
23 There were double doors for the holy place and the most holy place.
And there were two doors, to the temple, and to the holy place;
24 These doors had two hinged door panels each, two panels for one door and two panels for the other.
and two leaves to the doors, —two folding leaves, two to the one door and two to the other door.
25 Carved on them—on the doors of the holy place—were cherubim and palm trees just as the walls were decorated, and there was a wooden roof over the portico at the front.
And there had been made unto them unto the doors of the temple cherubim and palm-trees, like as had been made to the walls, —and thick beams of wood unto the front of the porch without.
26 There were narrow windows and palm trees on either side of the portico. These were the side rooms of the house, and they also had overhanging roofs.
And there were latticed windows and palm-trees on this side and on that side, unto the sides of the porch, —and unto the side chambers of the house and the thick beams.
