< 1 Corinthians 11 >

1 Be imitators of me, just as I am an imitator of Christ.
ᎠᏴ ᏍᎩᏍᏓᏩᏕᎩ ᎨᏎᏍᏗ, ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᎠᏴ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎦᎶᏁᏛ ᏥᏍᏓᏩᏕᎩ ᏥᎩ.
2 Now I praise you because you remember me in everything. I praise you because you hold fast to the traditions just as I delivered them to you.
Ꭷ, ᎢᏓᎵᏅᏟ, ᎢᏨᎸᏉᏗᎭ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏴ ᏂᎦᎥ ᏧᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᏂᏣᏛᏁᎲ ᏍᎩᏯᏅᏓᏗᏍᎬᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎢᏥᏍᏆᏂᎪᏗᏍᎬ ᏗᎧᎿᎭᏩᏛᏍᏗ ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᏕᏨᏲᎯᏎᎸᎢ.
3 Now I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, that a man is the head of a woman, and that God is the head of Christ.
ᎠᎴ ᎠᏆᏚᎵ ᎢᏥᎦᏙᎥᎯᏍᏗᏱ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎾᏂᎥ ᎠᏂᏍᎦᏯ ᎨᏒ ᎦᎶᏁᏛ ᎠᏍᎪᎵ ᎨᏒᎢ; ᎠᎨᏴᏃ ᎨᏒ ᎠᏍᎪᎵ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎨᏒᎢ; ᎦᎶᏁᏛᏃ ᎨᏒ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎠᏍᎪᎵ ᎨᏒᎢ.
4 Any man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head.
ᎩᎶ ᎠᏂᏍᎦᏯ ᎨᏒ ᏯᏓᏙᎵᏍᏗᎭ ᎠᎴ ᏯᏙᎴᎰᏍᎦ, ᎬᏩᎵᏍᏚᎵ, ᎠᏕᎰᎯᏍᏗᏍᎪ ᎠᏍᎪᎵ ᎨᏒᎢ.
5 But any woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head. For it is the same thing as if her head were shaved.
ᎩᎶᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᏂᎨᏴ ᎨᏒ ᏯᏓᏙᎵᏍᏗᎭ ᎠᎴ ᏯᏙᎴᎰᏍᎦ ᏄᎵᏍᏚᎸᎾ, ᎠᏕᎰᎯᏍᏗᏍᎪ ᎠᏍᎪᎵ ᎨᏒᎢ; ᏧᎵᏍᏙᏴᎰᏉᏰᏃ ᎢᏧᎳᎭ ᎾᏍᎩ.
6 For if a woman will not cover her head, she should cut her hair short. If it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or for her to shave her head, let her cover her head.
ᎢᏳᏰᏃ ᎠᎨᏴ ᏄᎵᏍᏚᎸᎾ ᏱᎩ, ᎾᏍᏉ ᎠᏥᏍᏙᏰᏍᎨᏍᏗ; ᎢᏳᏍᎩᏂ ᎤᏕᎰᎯᏍᏗᏳ ᏱᎩ ᎠᎨᏴ ᏗᎵᏍᏙᏰᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎠᎵᏍᏙᏰᏗ ᎤᏮᏙᏗᏱ ᎤᎵᏍᏙᏰᏗᏱ, ᎬᏩᎵᏍᏚᎴᏍᏗᏉ.
7 For a man should not have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God. But the woman is the glory of the man.
ᎠᏍᎦᏯᏍᎩᏂ ᎤᏙᎯᏳᎯ ᎥᏝ ᏱᎬᎵᏍᏚᎸᏍᎦ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᏥᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎦᎸᏉᏗᏳ ᎨᏒ ᏧᏄᏬᏍᏗ; ᎠᎨᏴᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎦᎸᏉᏗᏳ ᎨᏒ ᎤᏄᏬᏍᏗ.
8 For man was not made from woman. Instead, woman was made from man.
ᎠᏍᎦᏯᏰᏃ ᎥᏝ ᎠᎨᏴᎯ ᏴᏧᏓᎴᏁ ᎠᎪᏢᏅ; ᎠᎨᏴᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᏍᎦᏲᎯ ᏧᏓᎴᏁ ᎠᎪᏢᏅ.
9 For neither was man created for woman. Instead, woman was created for man.
ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎥᏝ ᎠᎨᏴ ᏯᎪᏢᎾᏁᎴᎢ, ᎠᎨᏴᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎠᎪᏢᎾᏁᎴᎢ.
10 This is why the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ ᎠᎨᏴ ᎦᎸᏉᏗᏳ ᎢᏳᏩᏁᎯ ᏳᏭᏢᏗ ᎠᏍᎪᎵ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎨᏥᏅᏏᏛ ᎨᏒ ᏱᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᎭ.
11 Nevertheless, in the Lord, the woman is not independent from the man, nor is the man independent from the woman.
ᎠᏎᏍᎩᏂᏃᏅ ᎥᏝ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᏂᎨᏴ ᏔᎵ ᏄᏛᏛᎾ ᏰᎭ, ᎥᏝ ᎠᎴ ᎠᎨᏴ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᏔᎵ ᏄᏛᏛᎾ ᏰᎭ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᏄᏩᎾᏅᎢ.
12 For as the woman comes from the man, so does the man come from the woman. And all things come from God.
ᎾᏍᎩᏰᏃ ᎠᎨᏴ ᎠᏍᎦᏲᎯ ᏅᏓᏳᏓᎴᏅᎯ ᏥᎩ, ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᎾᏍᏉ ᎠᏍᎦᏯ ᎠᎨᏴ ᎤᎾᏄᎪᏫᏒᎯ; ᎠᏎᏃ ᏂᎦᏗᏳ ᏧᏓᎴᏅᏛ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎨᏒ ᏅᏓᏳᏓᎴᏅᎯ.
13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?
ᏗᏧᎪᏓ ᎢᏨᏒ ᎨᏒᎢ; ᎤᎵᎶᎲᏍᎦᏍᎪ ᎠᎨᏴ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᏯᏓᏙᎵᏍᏓᏁ ᏄᎵᏍᏚᎸᎾ?
14 Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace for him?
ᏝᏍᎪ ᎢᏨᏒ ᎢᏥᎦᏔᎲ ᏱᏤᏲᎲᏍᎦ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏍᏚᏯ ᎦᏅᎯᏛ ᏳᏍᏘᏰᎦ ᎤᏕᎰᎯᏍᏗᏳ ᎨᏒᎢ?
15 Does not nature teach you that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair has been given to her as a covering.
ᎠᎨᏴᏍᎩᏂ ᎦᏅᎯᏛ ᏳᏍᏘᏰᎦ ᎦᎸᏉᏗᏳ ᎢᏳᏩᏁᎯ ᎨᏐᎢ; ᎤᏍᏘᏰᎬᏰᏃ ᎠᏥᏁᎸ ᎤᎦᏢᏙᏗ.
16 But if anyone wants to argue about this, we do not have any other practice, nor do the churches of God.
ᎢᏳᏍᎩᏂ ᎩᎶ ᎤᏗᏒᏌᏘ ᏱᏅᏩᏍᏗ; — ᎠᏴ ᎥᏝ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏲᎦᏛᏁᏗ ᏲᎩᎭ, ᎥᏝ ᎠᎴ ᎾᏍᏉ ᏧᎾᏁᎶᏗ ᏚᎾᏓᏡᏩᏗᏒ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᏧᏤᎵᎦ.
17 But in the following instructions, I do not praise you. For when you come together, it is not for the better but for the worse.
ᎯᎠᏍᎩᏂᏃ ᏂᏨᏪᏎᎲ ᎥᏝ ᏱᏨᎸᏉᏗᎭ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᏕᏥᎳᏫᏦᎯᎲ ᎥᏝ ᎣᏍᏛ ᎢᏳᎵᏍᏙᏗ ᏱᎨᏐᎢ, ᎤᏲᏉᏍᎩᏂ.
18 For in the first place, I hear that when you come together in the church, there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.
ᎢᎬᏱᏱᏰᏃ ᎨᏒ ᏕᏥᎳᏫᎩ ᎢᏣᏓᏡᎬ ᎢᎸᏍᎩ ᏂᏣᏓᏗᏍᎬ ᎦᏛᎩᎭ; ᎠᎴ ᎪᎢᏳᎲᏍᎦᏉ ᎢᎦᏛ.
19 For there must also be factions among you, so that those who are approved may be recognized among you.
ᎠᏎᏰᏃ ᎢᎸᏍᎩ ᎢᏣᏓᏗᏍᏗ ᏂᎯ ᏂᏣᏛᏅᎢ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎣᏏᏳ ᎨᏥᏰᎸᏅᎯ ᎬᏂᎨᏒ ᎢᏳᎾᎵᏍᏙᏗᏱ ᏂᎯ ᏂᏣᏛᏅᎢ.
20 For when you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper that you eat.
ᏕᏥᎳᏫᎩᏰᏃ ᎢᎸᎯᏢᎢ, ᎥᏝ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎤᏤᎵ ᎠᎵᏍᏓᏴᏗ ᏱᏣᎵᏍᏓᏴᏂᎰᎢ.
21 When you eat, each one eats his own food before the others have their meal. One is hungry, and another becomes drunk.
ᎢᏣᎵᏍᏗᏴᎲᏍᎬᏰᏃ ᎢᏥᏏᏴᏫᎭ ᎨᏒ ᎢᎬᏱ ᎢᏥᎩᏍᎪ ᎢᏨᏒ ᎢᏣᏤᎵᎦ; ᎠᏏᏴᏫᏃ ᎠᎪᏄ ᎤᏲᏏᏍᎪᎢ, ᏅᏩᏓᎴᏃ ᎤᏴᏍᏕᏍᎪᎢ.
22 Do you not have houses to eat and to drink in? Do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What should I say to you? Should I praise you? I will not praise you for this!
ᏝᏍᎪᏃ ᏱᏗᏥᏁᎸ ᎾᎿᎭᎢᏣᎵᏍᏓᏴᏗᏱ ᎠᎴ ᎢᏔᏗᏔᏍᏗᏱ? ᏥᎪᎨ ᎢᏥᏐᏢᏗᎭ ᏧᎾᏁᎶᏗ ᎤᎾᏓᏡᎬ ᎤᏁᎳᏅᎯ ᎤᏤᎵᎦ, ᎠᎴ ᏕᏣᏕᎰᎯᏍᏗᎭ ᏄᏂᎲᎾ? ᎦᏙ ᏓᏨᏲᏎᎵ? ᏓᏨᎸᏉᏔᏂᏧ? ᎯᎠ ᏂᏨᏛᏁᎲ ᎥᏝ ᏱᏨᎸᏉᏗᎭ.
23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night when he was betrayed, took bread.
ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯᏰᏃ ᏓᎩᏲᎯᏎᎸᎩ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎾᏍᏉ ᏥᏕᏨᏲᎯᏎᎸᎩ, ᎾᏍᎩ Ꮎ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᏥᏌ, ᎾᎯᏳ ᏒᏃᏱ ᎠᏥᎶᏄᎡᎸ, ᎦᏚ ᎤᎩᏎᎢ;
24 After he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this to remember me.”
ᎾᏍᎩᏃ ᎤᎵᎮᎵᏨ, ᎤᎬᎭᎷᏰᎢ, ᎠᎴ ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎢ, ᎢᏥᎩ, ᎢᏥᎦ; ᎯᎠ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᏴ ᏥᏰᎸᎢ, ᏂᎯ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏣᎵᎬᎭᎷᏰᎸᎯ ᏥᎩ; ᎯᎠ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏂᏣᏛᏁᎮᏍᏗ ᎠᏴ ᏍᎩᏯᏅᏓᏗᏍᎬᎢ.
25 In the same way he took the cup after supper, and he said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this as often as you drink it, to remember me.”
ᎾᏍᎩᏯ ᎾᏍᏉ ᏄᏛᏁᎴ ᎤᎾᎵᏍᏓᏴᏃᏅ, ᎤᎵᏍᏈᏗ ᎤᎩᏎᎢ, ᎯᎠ ᏄᏪᏎᎢ; ᎯᎠ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏤ ᎧᏃᎮᏛ ᏓᏠᎯᏍᏛᎢ, ᎠᏴ ᎠᎩᎩᎬ ᏨᏛᏍᏓᏱᏗ; ᎯᎠ ᎾᏍᎩ ᏂᏣᏛᏁᎮᏍᏗ, ᎢᏳᏍᏗᎭ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏣᏗᏔᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎠᏴ ᏍᎩᏯᏅᏓᏗᏍᎬᎢ.
26 For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
ᎢᏳᏍᏗᎭᏰᏃ ᎯᎠ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎦᏚ ᎢᏥᎩᏍᎨᏍᏗ, ᎠᎴ ᎯᎠ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᎵᏍᏈᏗ ᎢᏣᏗᏔᏍᎨᏍᏗ, ᎬᏂᎨᏒ ᏂᏨᏁᎮᏍᏗ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎤᏲᎱᏒᎢ, ᎬᏂ ᎦᎷᏨᎭ.
27 Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner, will be guilty of the body and the blood of the Lord.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᎢᏳᏍᏗ, ᎩᎶ ᏂᏚᏳᎪᏛᎾ ᎾᏛᏁᎮᏍᏗ ᎠᎩᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎯᎠ ᎦᏚ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᏗᏔᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎯᎠ ᎤᎵᏍᏈᏗ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎤᏤᎵᎦ, ᎠᏍᎦᏅᏤᎮᏍᏗ ᎠᏰᎸ ᎠᎴ ᎤᎩᎬ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ.
28 Let a person examine himself first, and in this way let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.
ᎤᏩᏒᏍᎩᏂ ᎠᏓᎪᎵᏰᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᏴᏫ, ᎩᎳᏃ ᎿᎭᏉ ᎠᎩᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎦᏚ, ᎠᎴ ᎠᏗᏔᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎤᎵᏍᏈᏗ.
29 For he who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment to himself.
ᎩᎶᏰᏃ ᏂᏚᏳᎪᏛᎾ ᎾᏛᏁᎮᏍᏗ ᎠᎩᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏗᏔᏍᎨᏍᏗ, ᎾᏍᎩ ᎠᎩᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᎠᎴ ᎠᏗᏔᏍᎨᏍᏗ ᏧᏭᎪᏓᏁᎯ ᎤᏩᏒ ᎤᏍᎦᏅᏨᎢ, ᎾᎪᏩᏘᏍᎬᎾ ᎨᏒ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎠᏰᎸᎢ.
30 That is why many among you are weak and ill, and some of you have fallen asleep.
ᎾᏍᎩ ᏅᏗᎦᎵᏍᏙᏗᎭ ᎤᏂᏣᏔ ᎨᏣᏓᏑᏯ ᏗᏂᏩᎾᎦᎳ ᎠᎴ ᏧᏂᏢᏥᏰᏍᎩ, ᎠᎴ ᏰᎵ ᎤᏂᏣᏔ ᎠᏂᎵᎾᎠ.
31 But if we examine ourselves, we will not be judged.
ᎢᏳᏰᏃ ᎢᎬᏒ ᏱᏗᏓᏓᏚᎪᏓᏁᎭ, ᎥᏝ ᏱᏙᎦᏰᎫᎪᏓᏏ.
32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined, so that we may not be condemned along with the world.
ᏕᎫᎪᏓᏏᏍᎩᏂ ᎤᎬᏫᏳᎯ ᎢᎩᎩᎵᏲᎢᏍᏗᏍᎪ ᎾᏍᎩ ᎡᎶᎯ ᎤᏂᏍᎦᏅᏨ ᏕᎨᎫᎪᏓᏁᎲ ᎢᎦᏠᏯᏍᏙᏗᏱ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ.
33 Therefore, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another.
ᎾᏍᎩᏃ ᏥᏄᏍᏗ, ᎢᏓᎵᏅᏟ, ᎢᏳᏃ ᏕᏥᎳᏫᎨᏍᏗ ᎢᏣᎵᏍᏓᏴᏗᏱ, ᏕᏣᏓᎦᏘᏗᏍᎨᏍᏗ.
34 If anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, so that when you come together it will not be for judgment. And about the other things you wrote, I will give directions when I come.
ᎾᏍᎩᏃ ᎢᏳ ᎩᎶ ᎠᎪᎾ ᎤᏲᏏᏍᎨᏍᏗ, ᏧᏪᏅᏒ ᎠᎵᏍᏓᏴᎲᏍᎨᏍᏗ; ᎾᏍᎩ ᏕᏥᎳᏫᎩ ᎢᏥᏍᎦᏅᏨ ᏗᏧᎪᏓᏁᎯᏉ ᎢᏳᎵᏍᏙᏗᏱ ᏂᎨᏒᎾ. ᏭᏃᏒᏃ ᎣᏍᏛ ᏂᎬᏁᎸᎭ ᏫᏥᎷᏨᎭ.
