1 Chronicles 20

1 It came about in the springtime, at the time when kings normally go to war, that Joab led the army into battle and devastated the land of the Ammonites. He went and besieged Rabbah. David remained in Jerusalem. Joab attacked Rabbah and defeated it.

फिर नए साल के शुरू' में जब बादशाह जंग के लिए निकलते हैं, योआब ने ताक़तवर लश्कर ले जाकर बनी 'अम्मून के मुल्क को उजाड़ डाला और आकर रब्बा को घेर लिया; लेकिन दाऊद येरूशलेम में रह गया था, और योआब ने रब्बा को घेर करके उसे ढा दिया।

2 David took the crown of their king from off his head, and he found that it weighed a talent of gold, and in it were precious stones. The crown was set on David's head, and he brought out the plunder of the city in large quantities.

और दाऊद ने उनके बादशाह के ताज को उसके सिर पर से उतार लिया, और उसका वज़न एक क़िन्तार सोना पाया, और उसमें बेशक़ीमत जवाहर जड़े थे; इसलिए वह दाऊद के सिर पर रखा गया, और वह उस शहर में से बहुत सा लूट का माल निकाल लाया।

3 He brought out the people who were in the city and forced them to work with saws and iron picks and axes. David required all the cities of the people of Ammon to do this labor. Then David and all the army returned to Jerusalem.

उसने उन लोगों को जो उसमें थे, बाहर निकाल कर आरों और लोहे के हींगों और कुल्हाड़ों से काटा, और दाऊद ने बनी 'अम्मून के सब शहरों से ऐसा ही किया। तब दाऊद और सब लोग येरूशलेम को लौट आए।

4 It came about after this that there was a battle at Gezer with the Philistines. Sibbekai the Hushathite killed Sippai, one of the descendants of the Rephaim, and the Philistines were subdued.

इसके बाद जज़र में फ़िलिस्तियों से जंग हुई; तब हूसाती सिब्बकी ने सफ़्फ़ी को जो पहलवान के बेटों में से एक था क़त्ल किया, और फ़िलिस्ती मग़लूब हुए।

5 It came about again in a battle with the Philistines at Gob, that Elhanan son of Jair the Bethlehemite killed Lahmi brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.

और फ़िलिस्तियों से फिर जंग हुई; तब य'ऊर के बेटे इल्हनान ने जाती जूलियत के भाई लहमी को, जिसके भाले की छड़ जुलाहे के शहतीर के बराबर थी, मार डाला।

6 It came about in another battle at Gath that there was a man of great height who had six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot. He also was descended from the Rephaim.

फिर जात में एक और जंग हुई जहाँ एक बड़ा क़दआवर आदमी था जिसके चौबीस उंगलियाँ, या'नी हाथों में छ: छ: और पाँव में छ: छ: थीं, और वह भी उसी पहलवान का बेटा था।

7 When he mocked the army of Israel, Jehonadab son of Shimea, David's brother, killed him.

जब उसने इस्राईल की फ़ज़ीहत की तो दाऊद के भाई सिमआ के बेटे योनतन ने उसको मार डाला।

8 These were descendants of the Rephaim of Gath, and they were killed by the hand of David and by the hand of his soldiers.

यह जात में उस पहलवान से पैदा हुए थे, और दाऊद और उसके ख़ादिमों के हाथ से क़त्ल हुए।
