1 Corinthians 1
1 Paul by vocacion an Apostle of Iesus Christ thorow the will of God and brother Sostenes.
Paul, appelé par la volonté de Dieu, à être apôtre de Jésus-Christ, et Sosthène notre frère,
2 Vnto the congregacion of God which is at Corinthum. To them that are sanctified in Christ Iesu sainctes by callynge with all that call on the name of oure lorde Iesus Christ in every place both of theirs and of oures
A l'Église de Dieu qui est à Corinthe, à ceux qui ont été sanctifiés en Jésus-Christ, qui sont appelés Saints, et à tous ceux qui invoquent, en quelque lieu que ce soit, le nom de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, leur Seigneur et le nôtre.
3 Grace be with you and peace fro God oure father and from the lorde Iesus Christ.
Que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de Dieu, notre Père, et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ!
4 I thanke my God all wayes on youre behalfe for ye grace of God which is geuen you by Iesus Christ
Je rends grâces continuellement à mon Dieu pour vous, à cause de la grâce que Dieu vous a donnée en Jésus-Christ, savoir:
5 that in all thinges ve are made riche by him in all lerninge and in all knowledge
De ce que vous avez été enrichis en Lui de toute manière, en toute parole et en toute connaissance;
6 even as the testimony of Iesus Christ was confermed in you)
Selon que le témoignage de Christ a été confirmé en vous;
7 so that ye are behynde in no gyft and wayte for the apperynge of oure lorde Iesus Christ
De sorte qu'il ne vous manque aucun don, à vous qui attendez la manifestation de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ.
8 which shall streght you vnto ye ende that ye maye be blamelesse in ye daye of oure lorde Iesus Christ.
Il vous affermira aussi jusqu'à la fin, pour que vous soyez irrépréhensibles au jour de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ.
9 ffor god is faythfull by whom ye are called vnto ye fellishyppe of his sonne Iesus Christe oure lorde
Dieu, par qui vous avez été appelés à la communion de son Fils Jésus-Christ, notre Seigneur, est fidèle.
10 I beseche you brethre in ye name of oure lorde Iesus Christ that ye all speake one thynge and that there be no dissencion amoge you: but be ye knyt together in one mynde and in one meaynge.
Or, je vous prie, frères, au nom de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, de tenir tous le même langage, et de n'avoir point de divisions parmi vous, mais d'être unis dans une même pensée, et dans un même sentiment.
11 It is shewed vnto me (my brethren) of you by them that are of the housse of Cloe that ther is stryfe amonge you. And this is it that I meane:
Car, mes frères, j'ai été informé, par ceux de chez Chloé, qu'il y a des contestations entre vous.
12 how that comelie amonge you one sayeth: I holde of Paul: another I holde of Apollo: ye thyrde I holde of Cephas: ye four ye I holde of Christ.
Je veux dire que, parmi vous, chacun dit: Pour moi, je suis disciple de Paul; et moi, d'Apollos; et moi, de Céphas; et moi, de Christ.
13 Ys Christ devided? was Paul crucified for you? ether were ye baptised in ye name of Paul?
Christ est-il divisé? Paul a-t-il été crucifié pour vous, ou avez-vous été baptisés au nom de Paul?
14 I thanke God that I christened none of you but Crispus and Gayus
Je rends grâces à Dieu de ce que je n'ai baptisé aucun de vous, sinon Crispus et Gaïus;
15 lest eny shulde saye that I had baptised in myne awne name.
Afin que personne ne dise que j'ai baptisé en mon nom.
16 I baptised also the housse of Stephana. Forthermore knowe I not whether I baptised eny man or no.
J'ai encore baptisé la famille de Stéphanas; du reste, je ne sais si j'ai baptisé quelque autre personne.
17 For Christ sent me not to baptyse but to preache ye gospell not with wysdome of wordes lest the crosse of Christ shuld have bene made of none effecte.
Car ce n'est pas pour baptiser que Christ m'a envoyé, mais c'est pour annoncer l'Évangile, non avec la sagesse du langage, afin que la croix de Christ ne soit pas rendue inutile.
18 For ye preachinge of the crosse is to them yt perisshe folishnes: but vnto vs which are saved it is ye power of God.
Car la prédication de la croix est une folie pour ceux qui périssent; mais pour nous qui sommes sauvés, elle est la puissance de Dieu.
19 For it is written: I will destroye the wysdome of the wyse and will cast awaye the vnderstondinge of the prudet.
Car il est écrit: Je détruirai la sagesse des sages et j'anéantirai l'intelligence des intelligents.
20 Where is the wyse? Where is the scrybe? Where is the searcher of this worlde? Hath not God made the wysdome of this worlde folisshnes? (aiōn g165)
Où est le sage? Où est le scribe? Où est le disputeur de ce siècle? Dieu n'a-t-il pas rendu folle la sagesse de ce monde (aiōn g165)
21 For when the worlde thorow wysdome knew not God in ye wysdome of God: it pleased God thorow folisshnes of preachinge to save them yt beleve.
Car, tandis que le monde, par cette sagesse, n'a point connu Dieu dans la sagesse de Dieu, il a plu à Dieu de sauver les croyants par la folie de la prédication.
22 For ye Iewes requyre a signe and the Grekes seke after wysdome.
Tandis que les Juifs demandent des miracles, et que les Grecs cherchent la sagesse,
23 But we preache Christ crucified vnto the Iewes an occasion of fallinge and vnto the Grekes folisshnes:
Nous, nous prêchons Christ crucifié, scandale pour les Juifs, et folie pour les Grecs;
24 but vnto the which are called both of Iewes and Grekes we preache Christ ye power of God and the wysdome of God.
Mais pour ceux qui sont appelés, tant Juifs que Grecs, le Christ est la puissance de Dieu et la sagesse de Dieu;
25 For the folishnes of God is wyser then me: and the weakenes of God is stronger then men.
Car la folie de Dieu est plus sage que les hommes, et la faiblesse de Dieu plus forte que les hommes.
26 Brethren loke on youre callinge how that not many wyse men after the flesshe not many myghty not many of hye degre are called:
Considérez, frères, que parmi vous, qui avez été appelés, il n'y a pas beaucoup de sages selon la chair, ni beaucoup de puissants, ni beaucoup de nobles.
27 but God hath chosen the folysshe thinges of the worlde to confounde the wyse. And God hath chosyn the weake thinges of the worlde to confounde thinges which are mighty.
Mais Dieu a choisi les choses folles du monde pour confondre les sages, et Dieu a choisi les choses faibles du monde pour confondre les fortes,
28 And vile thinges of the worlde and thinges which are despysed hath God chosen yee and thinges of no reputacion for to brynge to nought thinges of reputacion
Et Dieu a choisi les choses viles du monde et les plus méprisées, même celles qui ne sont point, pour anéantir celles qui sont,
29 that no flesshe shulde reioyce in his presence.
Afin que nulle chair ne se glorifie devant lui.
30 And vnto him partayne ye in Christ Iesu which of God is made vnto vs wysdome and also rightewesnes and saunctifyinge and redempcion.
Or, c'est par Lui que vous êtes en Jésus-Christ, qui nous a été fait de la part de Dieu, sagesse, justice, sanctification et rédemption;
31 That accordinge as it is written: he which reioyseth shulde reioyce in the Lorde.
Afin que, comme il est écrit, celui qui se glorifie, se glorifie dans le Seigneur.
