Psalms 47

1 You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!

Ein Psalm, vorzusingen, der Kinder Korah. Frohlocket mit Händen, alle Völker, und jauchzet Gott mit fröhlichem Schall!

2 Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!

Denn der HERR, der Allerhöchste, ist erschrecklich, ein großer König auf dem ganzen Erdboden.

3 He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].

Er wird die Völker unter uns zwingen und die Leute unter unsere Füße.

4 He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.

Er erwählet uns zum Erbteil, die HERRLIchkeit Jakobs, den er liebet. (Sela)

5 God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.

Gott fähret auf mit Jauchzen und der HERR mit heller Posaune.

6 Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!

Lobsinget, lobsinget Gott; lobsinget, lobsinget unserm Könige!

7 God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!

Denn Gott ist König auf dem ganzen Erdboden; lobsinget ihm klüglich!

8 God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.

Gott ist König über die Heiden; Gott sitzt auf seinem heiligen Stuhl.

9 The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.
