Psalms 47

1 You people all [over the world], clap your hands for joy! Shout joyfully to [praise] God!

Koran lasten Psalmi, edelläveisaajalle. Kaikki kansat, paukuttakaat käsiänne, ja ihastukaat Jumalalle iloisella äänellä.

2 Yahweh, who is much greater than any other god, is awesome; he is the king who rules over all the world!

Sillä Herra kaikkein korkein on hirmuinen, suuri kuningas koko maan päällä.

3 He enabled us to defeat [the armies of] the people-groups [that lived in Canaan].

Hän vaatii kansat allemme, ja pakanat meidän jalkaimme alle.

4 He chose for us this land where we now live; we Israeli people [MTY], whom he loves, are proud that we own this land.

Hän valitsee meille perimisemme, Jakobin kunnian, jota hän rakastaa, (Sela)

5 God has gone up [into his temple]. The people shouted joyfully and blew trumpets as Yahweh went up.

Jumala astui ylös riemulla, ja Herra helisevällä basunalla.

6 Sing songs to praise our God! Sing to praise him [DOU]! Sing to God, our king!

Veisatkaat, veisatkaat Jumalalle: veisatkaat, veisatkaat kuninkaallemme.

7 God is the one who rules over everything in the world; sing a psalm to him!

Sillä Jumala on koko maan kuningas: veisatkaat hänelle taitavasti.

8 God sits on his sacred throne as he rules over the people of [all] ethnic groups.

Jumala on pakanain kuningas: Jumala istuu pyhällä istuimellansa.

9 The rulers of those people-groups gather as God’s people, the people [descended] from Abraham, [do]. But God has more power than the weapons/shields [of all the kings] on the earth; (he is greatly honored/people honor him) everywhere.

Kansain päämiehet ovat kokoontuneet Abrahamin Jumalan kansan tykö; sillä maan edesvastaajat ovat Jumalan: hän on sangen suuresti ylennetty.
