Psalms 121

1 [When we travel toward Jerusalem], I look up toward the hills [and I ask myself], “Who will help me?”

Ich hebe meine Augen auf zu den Bergen, von wannen mir Beistand kommt.

2 [And my answer is] that Yahweh is the one who helps me; he is the one who made heaven and the earth.

Der Beistand kommt mir von Jehovah, Der Himmel und Erde hat gemacht.

3 He will not allow us to fall/stumble; God, who protects us, will not fall asleep.

Er läßt nicht wanken deinen Fuß, dein Hüter schlummert nicht.

4 The one who protects us Israeli people never gets sleepy, nor does he sleep [LIT].

Siehe, nicht schlummert und nicht schläft der Hüter Israels.

5 Yahweh watches over us; he is like the shade [MET] [that protects us from the sun].

Jehovah ist Dein Hüter; Jehovah ist dein Schatten über deiner rechten Hand.

6 [He will not allow] the sun to harm us during the day, and [he will not allow] the moon to harm us during the night.

Des Tages wird die Sonne dich nicht stechen, noch der Mond des Nachts.

7 Yahweh will protect us from being harmed in any manner; he will keep us safe.

Jehovah wird vor allem Bösen dich behüten. Er wird behüten deine Seele.

8 He will protect us from the time that we leave [our houses in the morning] until we return [in the evening]; he will protect us now, and he will protect us forever.

Jehovah behütet deinen Ausgang und deinen Eingang von nun an und bis in Ewigkeit.
