Ezekiel 5

1 “Also, you human, [when you start doing those things, ] take a sharp sword and use it like [SIM] a razor to shave your head and your beard. Then put the hair that you shaved off on scales, and divide the [into three equal parts].

Et toi, fils de l'homme, prends une lame tranchante, prends-la en guise de rasoir de barbier, et fais-la passer sur ta tête et sur ta barbe; puis tu prendras des balances à peser, et tu partageras ce que tu auras coupé.

2 When the time during [you will symbolize that] the city will be [by enemy troops] ends, put a third of the hair inside [drawing of the] city and burn it. Take another third of the hair, [scatter it] all [the drawing of] the city, and then strike it with your sword. That will symbolize that I will strike the people of Jerusalem [their enemies’] swords. Then allow the wind to scatter the other third of the hair. That will symbolize [even if they flee from the city], I will [cause their enemies to] pursue them and attack them with swords.

Tu en brûleras un tiers dans le feu, au milieu de la ville, lorsque les jours du siège seront accomplis; tu en prendras un tiers que tu frapperas avec l'épée autour de la ville; et l'autre tiers, tu le disperseras au vent, et je tirerai l'épée derrière eux.

3 Take a few of your hairs and tuck them into the folds of your robe.

Et tu en prendras une petite quantité, que tu serreras dans les ailes de ton vêtement.

4 Then take a few of those hairs, throw them into the fire, and burn them up. [That will symbolize that] a fire will spread from Jerusalem [and destroy things] throughout Israel.

De ce reste, tu en prendras encore pour le jeter au milieu du feu, et tu le brûleras dans le feu. De là sortira un feu pour toute la maison d'Israël.

5 This is what [I, ] Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘[drawing will represent] Jerusalem, [the city which] I have set in the center of the nations, with [other] countries around it.

Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: C'est là cette Jérusalem que j'avais placée au milieu des nations, avec de vastes contrées autour d'elle!

6 But the wicked people of Jerusalem rebelled against [obeying] my commands, and [they show that] they are more wicked than the people of the surrounding countries. They rejected my laws and refused to obey my commands.’

Mais, dans sa méchanceté, elle à résisté à mes décrets plus que les nations, et à mes lois plus que les pays qui l'entourent; car ils ont rejeté mes décrets et n'ont pas marché suivant mes lois.

7 Therefore, this is what I, Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘You people of Jerusalem have been more rebellious than the people of the nations around you; you have not obeyed any of my laws [DOU]. You have not even obeyed the laws of the nations around you!’

C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh: Parce que vous avez été plus rebelles que les nations qui vous entourent, que vous n'avez pas marché suivant mes lois, que vous n'avez pas observé mes décrets et que vous n'avez pas agi selon les coutumes des nations qui vous entourent,

8 Therefore, this is [I, ] Yahweh the Lord, say: ‘I am opposed to [you people of] Jerusalem. I will punish you, and the [people of other] nations will see it happen.

à cause de cela le Seigneur Yahweh parle ainsi: Voici que je viens contre toi à mon tour! Moi, j'exécuterai des décrets au milieu de toi sous les yeux des nations;

9 Because of all your detestable [idols], I will punish [people of Jerusalem] like I have never done before and will never do again.

et je ferai contre toi une chose telle que je n'en ai point fait et que je n'en ferai jamais plus de pareille, — à cause de toutes tes abominations.

10 As a result, parents among you will eat their children, and children will eat their [because there will be nothing else to eat]. I will punish you [severely], and I will cause those who will still be alive to be scattered in all directions [IDM].’

C'est pourquoi des pères dévoreront leurs fils au milieu de toi, et des fils dévoreront leurs pères. J'exécuterai contre toi des jugements, et je disperserai à tout vent tout ce qui restera de toi.

11 Therefore, I, Yahweh the Lord, declare that as surely as I am alive, because you have polluted my temple with all your disgusting [statues of idols] and by the other detestable things that you do, I will no longer bless you. I will not pity [you] or act mercifully [toward you].

C'est pourquoi, je suis vivant, oracle du Seigneur Yahweh: Parce que tu as souillé mon sanctuaire par toutes tes infamies et toutes tes abominations, moi aussi je briserai, et mon œil sera sans pitié, et je n'aurai point de compassion.

12 One-third of your people will die inside the city because of the plagues [they will experience] or by (famine/lack of food). One-third of your people will be killed [your enemies’] swords outside the city. And one-third I will cause to be scattered in all directions; [your enemies] will [still] pursue you and kill you with their swords.

Un tiers de tes enfants mourra par la peste et sera consumé par la famine au milieu de toi; un tiers tombera par l'épée tout autour de toi; et, pour l'autre tiers, je le disperserai à tout vent, et je tirerai l'épée derrière eux.

13 Then I will no longer be angry with you; I will stop punishing [MTY] you after I have gotten revenge on you. And when I stop punishing you, you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken to you because I have been very strongly concerned [what you have done].

Et ma colère s'assouvira, et j'apaiserai mon courroux sur eux et je serai satisfait; et ils sauront que moi, Yahweh, j'ai parlé dans ma jalousie, quand j'aurai assouvi sur eux mon courroux.

14 I will cause your [city] to be a ruins, with the result that [people of other] nations that are around you will pass by and see it and sneer at you.

Je te livrerai à l'opprobre et à la désolation parmi les nations qui t'entourent, aux yeux de tous les passants.

15 They will make fun of you and taunt you. When I severely punish you because of my being very angry [DOU] with you, they will be horrified and they will be warned. [That will surely happen because] I, Yahweh, have said it.

Tu seras un opprobre et une honte, une leçon et un sujet de terreur pour les peuples qui t'entourent, quand j'exécuterai sur toi des jugements avec colère, avec courroux, et par les châtiments de mon courroux, — c'est moi, Yahweh, qui parle! —

16 When I cut off your food supply and cause there to be more famine, [it will be as though] [MET] I am shooting at you with my arrows that will destroy you.

quand je décocherai sur eux les flèches funestes de la famine, qui servent à détruire et que je lancerai sur vous pour vous détruire; car j'augmenterai encore pour vous la famine, et je briserai pour vous le bâton du pain;

17 I will cause you to experience a famine, and I will send wild beasts to attack you and your children, and [all] your children will be killed. You will experience plagues and wars, and I will cause [your enemies] to attack you with their swords. [That will surely happen because] I, Yahweh, have said it.”

et j'enverrai sur vous la famine et des bêtes malfaisantes, qui te priveront d'enfants; la peste et le sang passeront sur toi, et je ferai venir sur toi l'épée — moi, Yahweh, j'ai parlé!
