Deuteronomy 27
1 Moses/I, along with the other Israeli leaders, said this to the people: “Obey all the commandments that I am giving to you today.
Und es geboten Mose und die Ältesten Israels dem Volke und sprachen: Haltet all das Gebot, das ich euch heute gebiete.
2 [Soon] you will cross the Jordan [River] and enter the land that Yahweh, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped], promised to give to you. There, in that very fertile [IDM] land on the [west] side of the Jordan [River], set up some large stones [on Ebal Mountain], and cover them with plaster. Then write on those stones all these laws and teachings/instructions.
Und es geschehe, daß am Tage, da ihr über den Jordan in das Land übersetzet, das Jehovah, dein Gott, dir geben wird, so sollst du dir große Steine aufrichten und sie mit Kalk übertünchen.
Und du sollst darauf alle Worte dieses Gesetzes schreiben, wenn du hinüberziehst, auf daß du in das Land eingehst, das Jehovah, dein Gott, dir gibt, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig fließt, wie Jehovah, der Gott deiner Väter, zu dir geredet hat.
Und es geschehe, daß, wenn ihr über den Jordan übersetzet, sollet ihr diese Steine aufrichten, wie ich euch heute gebiete, auf dem Berge Ebal und sie mit Kalk übertünchen;
5 And build a stone altar there to offer sacrifices to Yahweh, but do not cut those stones with iron tools.
Und sollst allda einen Altar bauen Jehovah, deinem Gott, einen Altar von Steinen, du sollst kein Eisen schwingen über sie.
6 The altar that you make to burn sacrifices to Yahweh our God must be made with uncut stones.
Von ganzen Steinen sollst du den Altar Jehovahs, deines Gottes, bauen, und sollst Jehovah, deinem Gotte, Brandopfer darauf opfern.
7 And there you must sacrifice offerings to maintain fellowship with Yahweh, and you must eat [your share of those offerings] and rejoice/celebrate in the presence of Yahweh.
Und sollst Dankopfer opfern und allda essen und fröhlich sein vor Jehovah, deinem Gott.
8 And, when you write these laws on those stones, you must write them very clearly.”
Und schreibe auf diese Steine alle Worte dieses Gesetzes und präge sie wohl ein.
9 Then Moses/I, along with the priests, said to all the Israeli people, “You Israeli people, be quiet and listen [to what I am saying]. Today you have become the people who belong to Yahweh, our God.
Und Mose redete und die Priester, die Leviten, zu ganz Israel und sprachen: Merke und höre, Israel! An diesem Tage bist du Jehovah, deinem Gott, zum Volk geworden.
10 So, you must do what he tells you, and obey all the rules and regulations that I am giving to you today.”
Und du sollst hören auf die Stimme Jehovahs, deines Gottes, und tun Seine Gebote und Seine Satzungen, die ich dir heute gebiete.
11 On that same day Moses/I said to the Israeli people,
Und Mose gebot dem Volk an selbigem Tage und sprach:
12 “After you have crossed over the Jordan [River], the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin must stand on Gerizim Mountain and [request Yahweh to] bless the people.
Diese sollen auf dem Berge Gerissim stehen, um das Volk zu segnen, wenn ihr über den Jordan übersetzet: Schimeon und Levi und Judah und Issaschar und Joseph und Benjamin.
13 And the tribes of Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali must stand on Ebal Mountain and listen to the things that Yahweh will do when he curses the people.
Und diese sollen stehen zum Fluche auf dem Berg Ebal: Ruben, Gad und Ascher und Sebulon, Dan und Naphthali.
14 The descendants of Levi must shout these words loudly:
Und die Leviten sollen anheben und mit erhöhter Stimme zu jedem Mann in Israel sprechen:
15 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who makes an idol of stone, or of wood, or of metal, and secretly sets it up [and worships it]. Yahweh considers that those things, made by humans [SYN], are detestable/disgusting.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei der Mann, der ein Schnitzbild oder Gußbild macht, einen Greuel Jehovahs, ein Werk von den Händen des Werkmanns gemacht, und es insgeheim aufstellt. Und das ganze Volk antworte und spreche: Amen.
16 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who dishonors his father or his mother.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, wer seinen Vater und seine Mutter gering achtet! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
17 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who removes someone else’s markers of property boundaries.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, wer seines Genossen Grenze verrückt, und alles Volk spreche: Amen.
18 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who leads a blind person to go (in the wrong direction/where that person does not want to go).’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, wer einen Blinden auf dem Wege fehlgehen läßt! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
19 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who deprives foreigners or orphans or widows of the things that the laws state must be done for them.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, wer dem Fremdling, der Waise und der Witwe das Recht abwendet, und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
20 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who (shows no respect for/disgraces his father) by having sex with [EUP] any of his father’s wives.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, wer bei dem Weibe seines Vaters liegt; denn er hat seines Vaters Decke aufgedeckt, und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
21 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex [EUP] with any animal.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, der bei irgendeinem Vieh liegt, und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
22 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with his sister or with his half-sister.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht, wer bei seiner Schwester, der Tochter seines Vaters oder der Tochter seiner Mutter liegt; und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
23 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with [EUP] his mother-in-law.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, wer bei seiner Schwiegermutter liegt; und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
24 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who secretly murders someone else.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, wer seinen Genossen heimlich erschlägt! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
25 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who accepts a bribe to murder someone who (is innocent/has not done something that is wrong.)’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht sei, wer Geschenk nimmt, um eine Seele, unschuldiges Blut, zu erschlagen! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
26 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who disobeys these laws and refuses to declare that these laws [are good].’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’”
Verflucht sei, wer die Worte dieses Gesetzes nicht bestätigt, daß er sie tue! Und das ganze Volk spreche: Amen.
