Deuteronomy 27
1 Moses/I, along with the other Israeli leaders, said this to the people: “Obey all the commandments that I am giving to you today.
Mose aber und die Vornehmsten in Israel gaben dem Volke folgenden Befehl: Haltet alle die Gebote, die ich euch heute gebe!
2 [Soon] you will cross the Jordan [River] and enter the land that Yahweh, the God whom our ancestors [worshiped], promised to give to you. There, in that very fertile [IDM] land on the [west] side of the Jordan [River], set up some large stones [on Ebal Mountain], and cover them with plaster. Then write on those stones all these laws and teachings/instructions.
Und wenn ihr über den Jordan hinüber in das Land gezogen seid, das dir Jahwe, dein Gott, verleiht, so richte dir große Steine auf, übertünche sie mit Kalk
und schreibe darauf alle Worte dieses Gesetzes, sobald du hinübergezogen bist, damit du, wie dir Jahwe, der Gott deiner Väter, verheißen hat, in das Land hineinkommst, das dir Jahwe, dein Gott, verleiht, ein Land, das von Milch und Honig überfließt.
Sobald ihr den Jordan überschritten habt, sollt ihr diese Steine, gemäß dem, was ich euch heute gebiete, auf dem Berge Ebal aufrichten und mit Kalk übertünchen.
5 And build a stone altar there to offer sacrifices to Yahweh, but do not cut those stones with iron tools.
Auch sollst du dort Jahwe, deinem Gott, einen Altar errichten, und zwar einen Altar aus Steinen, die du nicht mit eisernen Werkzeugen bearbeitet hast,
6 The altar that you make to burn sacrifices to Yahweh our God must be made with uncut stones.
- aus unbehauenen Steinen sollst du den Altar Jahwes, deines Gottes, errichten - und sollst Jahwe, deinem Gotte, Brandopfer darauf darbringen
7 And there you must sacrifice offerings to maintain fellowship with Yahweh, and you must eat [your share of those offerings] and rejoice/celebrate in the presence of Yahweh.
und Heilsopfer schlachten und sie daseIbst verzehren und vor Jahwe, deinem Gotte, fröhlich sein.
8 And, when you write these laws on those stones, you must write them very clearly.”
Auf die Steine aber sollst du alle Worte dieses Gesetzes deutlich und sorgfältig schreiben.
9 Then Moses/I, along with the priests, said to all the Israeli people, “You Israeli people, be quiet and listen [to what I am saying]. Today you have become the people who belong to Yahweh, our God.
So sprachen Mose und die levitischen Priester zu ganz Israel also: Sei still und höre zu, Israel! Heute bist du das Volk Jahwes, deines Gottes, geworden;
10 So, you must do what he tells you, and obey all the rules and regulations that I am giving to you today.”
so höre denn auf die Stimme Jahwes, deines Gottes, und halte seine Gebote und seine Satzungen, die ich dir heute gebiete.
11 On that same day Moses/I said to the Israeli people,
An ebendemselben Tage gab Mose dem Volke folgende Anweisung:
12 “After you have crossed over the Jordan [River], the tribes of Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin must stand on Gerizim Mountain and [request Yahweh to] bless the people.
Wenn ihr den Jordan überschritten habt, sollen sich die einen auf dem Berge Gerizim aufstellen, um das Volk zu segnen, nämlich: Simeon, Levi, Juda, Issachar, Joseph und Benjamin;
13 And the tribes of Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali must stand on Ebal Mountain and listen to the things that Yahweh will do when he curses the people.
die anderen aber sollen sich, um den FIuch auszusprechen, auf dem Berg Ebal aufstellen, nämlich: Ruben, Gad, Asser, Zebulon, Dan und Naphthali.
14 The descendants of Levi must shout these words loudly:
Und die Leviten sollen anheben und mit hocherhobener Stimme zu allen Israeliten sprechen:
15 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who makes an idol of stone, or of wood, or of metal, and secretly sets it up [and worships it]. Yahweh considers that those things, made by humans [SYN], are detestable/disgusting.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer ein Schnitzbild oder Gußbild, ein Machwerk von Künstlerhänden verfertigt, zum Greuel für Jahwe, und es im Geheimen aufstellt! Und das ganze Volk soll antworten und sprechen: So sei es!
16 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who dishonors his father or his mother.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer seinen Vater oder seine Mutter verunehrt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
17 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who removes someone else’s markers of property boundaries.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer die Grenze seines Nächsten verrückt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
18 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who leads a blind person to go (in the wrong direction/where that person does not want to go).’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer einen Blinden irre führt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
19 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who deprives foreigners or orphans or widows of the things that the laws state must be done for them.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer das Recht von Fremdlingen, Waisen oder Witwen beugt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
20 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who (shows no respect for/disgraces his father) by having sex with [EUP] any of his father’s wives.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer dem Weibe seines Vaters beiwohnt, denn er hat die Scham seines Vaters aufgedeckt. Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
21 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex [EUP] with any animal.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer irgend einem Tiere beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
22 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with his sister or with his half-sister.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer seiner Schwester, sie sei nun die Tochter seines Vaters oder seiner Mutter, beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
23 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who has sex with [EUP] his mother-in-law.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer seiner Schwägerin beiwohnt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
24 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who secretly murders someone else.’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer seinen Nächsten heimlich erschlägt! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
25 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who accepts a bribe to murder someone who (is innocent/has not done something that is wrong.)’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’
Verflucht ist, wer sich dazu dingen läßt, das Blut eines Unschuldigen mörderisch zu vergießen! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
26 ‘Yahweh will curse anyone who disobeys these laws and refuses to declare that these laws [are good].’ And all the people must reply, ‘(Amen/We want that to happen).’”
Verflucht ist, wer die Worte dieses Gesetzes nicht in Kraft treten läßt, indem er nicht darnach thut! Und das ganze Volk soll sprechen: So sei es!
