1 Kings 6
1 480 years after the Israeli people left Egypt, during the fourth year that Solomon ruled Israel, early in May, Solomon’s workers began to build the temple.
Im 480. Jahre nach dem Auszuge der Israreliten aus Ägypten, im vierten Jahr - im Monat Siw, das ist der zweite Monat - der Regierung Salomos über Israel, da baute er den Tempel für Jahwe.
2 Inside, [the main part of] the temple was 90 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 45 feet high.
Und das Gebäude, das der König Salomo für Jahwe errichtete, war sechzig Ellen lang, zwanzig Ellen breit und dreißig Ellen hoch.
3 The entrance room was 15 feet long and 30 feet wide, just as wide as the main part of the temple.
Und die Halle vor dem Hauptraume des Gebäudes war zwanzig Ellen lang, östlich vor der Breitseite des Gebäudes, und zehn Ellen breit östlich vor dem Gebäude.
4 There were windows in [the walls of] the temple. The windows were narrower on the outside than on the inside.
Und er brachte an dem Gebäude mit Balkenwerk vergitterte und nach innen zu schräg einfallende Fenster an.
5 Against the two sides and against the back of the temple walls, they built a structure/building that had rooms in it. [This structure had three levels/stories and each was 7-1/2 feet high].
Und an der Wand des Gebäudes errichtete er einen Anbau rings um die Wände des Hauses, rings um den Hauptraum und den Hinterraum, und stellte so ringsum Seitengemächer her.
6 [Each room in] the lowest level/story was 7-1/2 feet wide. [Each room in] the middle level/story was nine feet wide. [The rooms in] the top level/story were 10-1/2 feet wide. The wall of the temple at the top level/story was thinner than the wall at the middle level/story, and the wall of the middle level/story was thinner than the wall at the bottom level/story. The result was that the rooms could be supported by the wall underneath them, and did not require wooden beams to support them.
Das unterste Stockwerk dieses Anbaus war fünf Ellen breit, das mittlere war sechs Ellen breit und das dritte sieben Ellen breit; denn er hatte außen am Gebäude ringsum Absätze gemacht, daß kein Eingreifen in die Wände des Gebäudes stattfand.
7 The huge stones for [the foundation of] the temple were cut and shaped at the quarry [to become very smooth]. The result was that while the workers were building the temple there was no noise, because they did not use hammers or chisels or any other iron tools there.
Und als das Gebäude errichtet ward, baute man mit Steinen, die gleich beim Bruch fertig zugerichtet waren, so daß bei der Errichtung des Gebäudes weder Hämmer noch Meißel, kurz keinerlei eisernes Werkzeug zu hören war.
8 The entrance to the bottom level/story [of that attached structure] was on the south side of the temple. There were stairs from the bottom level/story to the middle and top level/story.
Die Thür zum untersten Seitenstocke befand sich auf der Südseite des Gebäudes, und auf einer Wendeltreppe stieg man zum mittleren und vom mittleren zum dritten Stockwerk empor.
9 So Solomon’s [workers] finished building the [framework of the] temple. They made the ceiling from cedar beams and boards.
Und so errichtete er das Gebäude und vollendete es; und er deckte das Gebäude mit Balken und Täfelwerk von Cedern.
10 They built the structure that had three levels/stories, that was against the walls of the temple. Each level/story was 7-1/2 feet high, and was joined to the temple with cedar beams.
Und er errichtete den Anbau rings am ganzen Gebäude, jedes Stockwerk fünf Ellen hoch, und verband sie mit dem Hause durch Cedernbalken.
11 Then Yahweh said this to Solomon:
Und es erging das Wort Jahwes an Salomo also:
12 “[I want to tell you] about this temple that you are building. If you continually obey all my statutes and laws and commands, I will do for you what I promised to your father David.
Ich will acht haben auf dieses Gebäude, welches du errichtest. Wirst du nun in meinen Satzungen wandeln und nach meinen Rechten thun und acht haben auf alle meine Gebote, daß du darinnen wandelst, so will ich mein Wort an dir erfüllen, das ich zu deinem Vater David geredet habe,
13 I will live among the Israeli people, [in this temple, ] and I will never abandon them.”
und will inmitten der Israeliten wohnen und will mein Volk Israel nicht verlassen.
14 Solomon’s [workers] finished building the temple.
So errichtete Salomo das Gebäude und vollendete es.
15 On the inside, they lined/covered the walls with cedar boards. They lined/covered them from the floor to the ceiling. They made the floor from cypress boards.
Und er baute die Wände im Innern des Gebäudes aus mit Brettern von Cedern; vom Fußboden des Gebäudes an bis zu den Balken der Decke belegte er's im Innern mit Holz. Den Fußboden des Gebäudes aber belegte er mit Cypressenbrettern.
16 Inside the back part of the temple they built an inner room, called the Very Holy Place. It was 30 feet long. All the walls of this room were lined with cedar boards.
Und er baute die zwanzig Ellen auf der hinteren Seite des Hauses aus mit cedernen Brettern vom Fußboden an bis zu den Balken. Also baute er sich's im Innern aus zum Hinterraum, zum Allerheiligsten.
17 In front of the Very Holy Place there was a room that was 60 feet long.
Und vierzig Ellen maß das Gebäude, das heißt der Hauptraum vor dem Hinterraum.
18 The cedar [boards on the walls] inside the temple were decorated with carvings of gourds and flowers. [The walls were] completely covered with cedar boards, with the result that the stones [of the walls behind them] could not be seen.
Und Cedernholz war am Gebäude inwendig, Schnitzwerk von Coloquinten und Blumengehängen; alles war cedern, und kein Stein zu sehen.
19 At the back of the temple they made the Very Holy Place, where the Sacred Chest would be put.
Und einen Hinterraum richtete er inwendig inmitten des Gebäudes her, daß man die Lade mit dem Gesetz Jahwes dort hinstelle.
20 That room was 30 feet long, 30 feet wide, and 30 feet high. They covered the walls with [very thin sheets of] pure gold. [For burning incense] they also made an altar of cedar [boards].
Und vor dem Hinterraume - derselbe war zwanzig Ellen lang, zwanzig Ellen breit und zwanzig Ellen hoch; und er überzog ihn mit feinem Golde - machte er einen Altar aus Cedernholz.
21 Solomon told them to cover the other walls inside the temple with [very thin sheets of] pure gold and to fasten gold chains across the entrance to the Very Holy Place.
Und Salomo überzog das Gebäude inwendig mit feinem Gold, und er brachte quer vor dem Hinterraume goldene Kettchen an und überzog ihn mit Gold.
22 They covered all the walls of the temple and the altar that was outside the Very Holy Place with [very thin sheets of] gold.
Das ganze Gebäude überzog er so mit Gold, völlig das ganze Gebäude; auch den ganzen Altar, der dem Hinterraum angehörte, überzog er mit Gold.
23 Inside the Very Holy Place, they made from olive tree wood [large statues of] two creatures with wings. Each one was 15 feet tall.
Und er machte im Hinterraume zwei Kerube aus Holz vom wilden Ölbaum, je zehn Ellen hoch.
24 They each were the same size and had the same shape. They each had two wings [which were spread out]. Each wing was 7-1/2 feet long, with the result that the distance between the outer ends of the two wings was 15 feet.
Fünf Ellen aber maß der eine Flügel des Kerub und fünf Ellen der andere Flügel des Kerub, so daß es von dem einen Ende seiner Flügel bis zum anderen zehn Ellen waren.
Und weitere zehn Ellen maß der andere Kerub; beide Kerube hatten einerlei Maß und einerlei Gestalt.
Die Höhe des einen Kerub betrug zehn Ellen, und ebenso viel maß der andere Kerub.
27 They put those statues next to each other in the Very Holy Place so that the wing of the one touched the one wing of the other in the center of the room, and the outer wings touched the walls.
Und er stellte die Kerube mitten ins Innerste des Gebäudes, und sie hielten ihre Flügel ausgebreitet, so daß des einen Flügel an die eine Wand rührte, und der Flügel des anderen Kerubs an die andere Wand rührte, während ihre Flügel in der Mitte des Raumes aneinanderstießen.
28 They covered the statues with [very thin sheets of] gold.
Und er überzog die Kerube mit Gold.
29 [Solomon told them to] decorate the walls of the main room and the Very Holy Place by carving representations of winged creatures and palm trees and flowers.
Und an allen Wänden des Gebäudes rundum ließ er Schnitzwerk von Keruben, Palmen und Blumengehängen einschneiden, im Innern und auswendig.
30 They also covered the floor of both rooms with [very thin sheets of] gold.
Auch den Fußboden des Gebäudes überzog er mit Gold, inwendig und auswendig.
31 They made a set of doors from olive tree wood, and placed them at the entrance to the Very Holy Place. The doorposts joined at the top to form a pointed arch.
Für die Thüre des Hinterraums aber ließ er Thürflügel aus Holz vom wilden Ölbaum anfertigen: die obere Einfassung der Thüre und die Seitenpfosten bildeten ein Fünfeck.
32 The doors were decorated by carving on them representations of winged creatures, palm trees, and flowers. All of these things were covered with [very thin sheets of] gold.
Auf den beiden Thürflügeln von Ölbaumholz aber ließ er Schnitzwerk von Keruben, Palmen und Blumengehängen anbringen und überzog es mit Gold, nämlich die Kerube und die Palmen mit breitgeschlagenem Golde.
33 They made a rectangular door frame from olive tree wood, and put it [between the entrance room and] the main room.
Und ebenso ließ er für den Eingang zum Hauptraume Pfosten aus Holz vom wilden Ölbaum, viereckige Pfosten, anfertigen
34 They made two folding doors from cypress wood [and fastened them to the door frame].
und zwei Thürflügel von Cypressenholz; der eine Flügel bestand aus zwei drehbaren Blättern, und der andere Flügel bestand aus zwei drehbaren Blättern.
35 The doors were also decorated with wood carvings of winged creatures, palm trees, and flowers, and they were also covered evenly with [very thin sheets of] gold.
Und er ließ Bildwerk von Keruben, Palmen und Blumengehängen anbringen und überzog sie unter genauer Anpassung an das Eingeschnitzte mit Gold.
36 They built a courtyard in front of the temple. The walls around the courtyard were made of cedar and stone; to make the walls, between each layer of cedar beams they put down two layers of stone.
Und er baute die Mauer um den inneren Vorhof aus drei Lagen von Quadersteinen und einer Lage von Cedernbalken.
37 They laid the foundation of the temple of Yahweh in early May, in the fourth year [that Solomon ruled].
Im vierten Jahre ward der Grund gelegt zum Tempel Jahwes, im Monat Siw.
38 In the eleventh year [that he ruled], in the middle of October, they finished building the temple and all of its parts, doing exactly what Solomon told them to do. It required seven years to build it.
Und im elften Jahre, im Monat Bul - das ist der achte Monat - ward der Tempel vollendet nach allen seinen Stücken und nach aller seiner Gebühr, so daß er sieben Jahre daran baute.
