1 Chronicles 16
1 They brought the Sacred Chest [to Gibeon] and put it inside the Sacred Tent that David had [told his workers to] set up. Then they brought offerings to be completely burned [on the altar] and offerings to enable them to maintain fellowship [with God].
Nachdem man sodann die Lade Gottes hineingebracht und in dem Zelte, das David für sie errichtet, aufgestellt hatte, brachte man vor Gott Brandopfer und Heilsopfer dar.
2 When David had finished presenting all those offerings, he [asked Yahweh to] bless the people.
Und als David mit der Darbringung des Brandopfers und der Heilsopfer zu Ende war, segnete er das Volk im Namen Jahwes
3 He gave a loaf of bread, some dates, and some raisins to every Israeli man and woman [who was there].
und teilte allen Israeliten, Männern wie Weibern, jedem einen Laib Brot, ein Stück Fleisch und einen Traubenkuchen aus.
4 Then David appointed some of the descendants of Levi to stand in front of [the Sacred Tent in which] the Sacred Chest [had been placed], to lead the people who worshiped and thanked and praised Yahweh, the God of the Israeli people.
Er bestellte aber welche von den Leviten zu Dienern vor der Lade Jahwes und daß sie Jahwe, den Gott Israels preisen, ihm danken und ihn rühmen sollten:
5 Asaph, who played the cymbals, was their leader. Zechariah was his assistant. The other descendants of Levi [who helped Asaph] were Jaaziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithiah, Eliab, Benaiah, Obed-Edom, and Jeiel. They played lyres and harps.
Asaph, das Haupt, und Sacharja, den zweiten im Range nach ihm, Jeiel, Semiramoth, Jehiel, Mattithja, Eliab, Benaja, Obed-Edom und Jeiel mit ihren Instrumenten, Harfen und Zithern; während Asaph die Cymbeln,
6 Benaiah and Jahaziel were priests who blew trumpets frequently in front of [the Sacred Tent in which was] the Sacred Chest.
die Priester Benaja und Jahasiel aber beständig die Trompeten vor der Lade mit dem Gesetze Gottes erschallen ließen.
7 On that day, David gave to Asaph and his helpers this psalm to praise Yahweh:
Damals, an jenem Tage, übertrug David Asaph und seinen Brüdern zuerst, das “Danket Jahwe!” zu singen.
8 Thank God, and pray to him [MTY]. Tell the people of all nations what he has done.
Danket Jahwe, ruft seinen Namen an! Macht unter den Völkern seine Thaten kund!
9 Sing to him; sing songs to praise him. Tell about all his miraculous deeds.
Singet ihm! Lobsinget ihm! Redet von allen seinen Wundern.
10 Be glad that you belong to him [MTY]; those who want to know Yahweh better should rejoice.
Rühmet euch seines heiligen Namens; es freue sich das Herz derer, die Jahwe suchen.
11 Trust in Yahweh and in his power; continually seek to get help from him.
Fragt nach Jahwe und seiner Stärke, sucht beständig sein Angesicht.
12 Do not forget the wonderful things that he has done, the miracles and the just laws that he has given to us.
Gedenkt seiner Wunder, die er gethan, seiner Zeichen und der Urteilssprüche seines Mundes,
13 We people are the descendants of his servant Jacob; we are the people of Israel whom he has chosen.
Nachkommen Israels, seine Knechte Söhne Jakobs, seine Auserwählten!
14 Yahweh is our God. His just/fair laws are known by people throughout the world.
Er, Jahwe, ist unser Gott; über die ganze Erde ergehen seine Gerichte.
15 He never forgets the agreement that he has made: he made a promise that will last for 1,000 generations.
Gedenket ewig seines Bundes, des Wortes, das er verordnet hat, auf tausend Geschlechter,
16 That is the agreement that he made with Abraham, and he repeated that agreement to Isaac.
des Bundes, den er mit Abraham geschlossen, und seines Schwurs an Isaak.
17 It was an agreement for the Israeli people, and he wanted that agreement to endure forever.
Und er stellte ihn für Jakob als eine Satzung hin, als einen ewigen gültigen Bund für Israel, -
18 What he said was, “I will give the Canaan region to you, to belong to you [and your descendants forever].”
indem er sprach: “Dir will ich das Land Kanaan verleihen als euer erbliches Besitztum!” -
19 [He said that to them] when there were only a few of them, a tiny group of people who were living in that land (like strangers/that belonged to other people);
als ihr noch gering an Zahl wart, gar wenige, und als Fremdlinge darin weiltet.
20 they continued to wander from one place to another, from one kingdom to another.
Und sie zogen von Volk zu Volk und von einem Königreiche zu einer anderen Nation.
21 But he did not allow others to oppress them, and he warned kings by saying to them,
Er gestattete niemandem, sie zu bedrücken, und strafte um ihretwillen Könige.
22 “Do not harm the people whom I have chosen! Do not harm my prophets!”
“Tastet meine Gesalbten nicht anund thut meinen Propheten kein Leid!”
23 You people throughout the world, sing to Yahweh. Every day proclaim [to others] that he has saved us.
Singt Jahwe, alle Lande! Verkündet von einem Tag zum anderen sein Heil!
24 Tell the people of the nations that he is great; tell all the people-groups the marvelous things [that he has done].
Erzählt unter den Heiden seine Herrlichkeit, unter allen Völkern seine Wunder.
25 Yahweh is great, and he deserves to be praised very much. He should be revered more than all the gods,
Denn groß ist Jahwe und hoch zu loben und furchtbar ist er über alle Götter.
26 because all the gods that the [other] people-groups [worship] are only idols, but Yahweh [is truly great; he] created the skies.
Denn alle Götter der Völker sind Götzen, aber Jahwe hat den Himmel geschaffen.
27 He is glorious and majestic; his power and joy fill his Sacred Tent.
Majestät und Hoheit sind vor seinem Angesicht, Stärke und Frohlocken an seinem Wohnsitz.
28 You people in nations all over the world, praise Yahweh! Praise Yahweh for his glorious power [HEN]!
Gebt Jahwe, ihr Völkergeschlechter, gebt Jahwe Herrlichkeit und Stärke!
29 Praise Yahweh like he [MTY] deserves to be praised. Bring an offering and come to his Sacred Tent. Worship Yahweh because he is holy.
Gebt Jahwe die Herrlichkeit, die seinem Namen gebührt; bringt Gaben und kommt vor sein Angesicht. Werft euch nieder vor Jahwe in heiligem Schmuck,
30 Everyone on the earth should tremble in front of Yahweh. He put the earth firmly [in its place]; and nothing ever will be able to move/shake it.
erzittert vor ihm, alle Lande; Auch hat er den Erdkreis gefestigt, daß er nicht wankt.
31 Everything in the sky and on the earth should be happy. People [everywhere] should say, “Yahweh is our king!”
Es freue sich der Himmel und die Erde frohlocke, und man spreche unter den Heiden: Jahwe ward König!
32 The oceans and all the creatures that are in the oceans should shout to praise him; the fields and everything that is in them should rejoice.
Es brause das Meer und was es füllt; es jauchze das Gefilde und alles, was darauf ist.
33 When they do that, [it will be as though] the trees in the forest will sing joyfully in front of Yahweh. That will happen when he comes to judge [everyone on] [MTY] the earth.
Alsdann werden jubeln alle Bäume des Waldes vor Jahwe, denn er kommt, die Erde zu richten.
34 Thank Yahweh, because [everything that he does is] good. He faithfully loves us forever.
Danket Jahwe, denn er ist gütig; denn ewig währt seine Gnade.
35 Say to him, “God, you are the one who rescues us, so gather us together and save us from [the armies of] other nations. When you do that, we will thank you [MTY], and we will be happy to praise you.”
Und sprecht: Hilf uns, o Gott, der du unsere Hilfe bist, und sammle und errette uns aus den Heiden, daß wir deinem heiligen Namen danken, uns deines Lobpreises rühmen!
36 Praise Yahweh, the God of us Israeli people, He has always existed, and he will exist forever. After the people [finished singing that song], they all said, “(Amen/May it be so)!”, and they praised Yahweh.
Gepriesen sei Jahwe, der Gott Israels, von Ewigkeit bis zu Ewigkeit. Und alles Volk sprach Amen! und einen Lobpreis Jahwes.
37 Then David left Asaph and the other members of his clan there in front of [the tent in which] Yahweh’s Sacred Chest [had been placed]. He told them that they must do their work there every day.
Und er ließ Asaph und seine Brüder dort vor der Lade mit dem Gesetze Jahwes, damit sie beständig den Dienst vor der Lade verrichteten, so wie es ein jeder Tag erforderte,
38 David also left Obed-Edom and 68 other descendants of Levi to work with them. Hosah and Obed-Edom guarded [the entrances of the Sacred Tent].
Obed-Edom aber, den Sohn Jedithuns, und Hosa und ihre Brüder, 68 an der Zahl, als Thorhüter.
39 David also told Zadok the [Supreme] Priest and the other priests who worked with him to remain in front of Yahweh’s Sacred Tent, which was still at the place where the Israeli people worshiped [God there] in Gibeon [city].
Den Priester Zadok aber und seine Brüder, die Priester, ließ er vor der Wohnung Jahwes auf der Opferhöhe zu Gibeon,
40 Every morning and every evening they burned offerings on the altar, obeying the rules/laws that had been written [by Moses], rules/laws which Yahweh had given to the Israeli people.
damit sie Jahwe regelmäßig, am Morgen und am Abend, auf dem Brandopferaltare Brandopfer darbrächten und alle Vorschriften des Gesetzes Jahwes, das er Israel anbefohlen hat, erfüllten.
41 With them were Heman and Jeduthun and other descendants of Levi. They [MTY] were chosen to sing songs to praise Yahweh because he faithfully loves his people forever.
Und mit ihnen waren Heman und Jeduthun und die übrigen Auserwählten, die namentlich bezeichnet waren, um Jahwe Dank zu sagen, daß seine Gnade ewig währe.
42 Heman and Jeduthun were appointed to play the trumpets and cymbals when [the other descendants of Levi sang sacred songs]. The sons of Jeduthun were appointed to guard the gates [of the Sacred Tent].
Und mit ihnen waren Trompeten und Cymbeln für die Musiker und die Instrumente für die Gotteslieder; die Söhne Jeduthuns aber waren für das Thor.
43 Then all the people left. They returned to their homes, and David returned home to [ask Yahweh to] bless his family.
Darauf ging jedermann im Volke heim. David aber wandte sich, um seine Familie zu begrüßen.
