John 9
1 And while passing, he saw a man blind from his mother's womb.
A przechodząc, zobaczył człowieka ślepego od urodzenia.
2 And his disciples asked him, and said: Our Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?
I pytali go jego uczniowie: Mistrzu, kto zgrzeszył, on czy jego rodzice, że się urodził ślepy?
3 Jesus said to them: Neither did he sin, nor his parents; but that the works of God might be seen in him.
Jezus odpowiedział: Ani on nie zgrzeszył, ani jego rodzice, ale [stało się tak], żeby się na nim objawiły dzieła Boga.
4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day; the night cometh, in which no one can work.
Ja muszę wykonywać dzieła [tego], który mnie posłał, dopóki jest dzień. Nadchodzi noc, gdy nikt nie będzie mógł działać.
5 So long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Dopóki jestem na świecie, jestem światłością świata.
6 And having spoken thus, he spit on the ground, and made mud with the spittle, and spread it on the eyes of the blind man;
To powiedziawszy, splunął na ziemię, zrobił błoto ze śliny i pomazał tym błotem oczy ślepego.
7 and said to him: Go, wash in the baptistery of Siloam. And he went, and washed, and came away seeing.
I powiedział do niego: Idź, umyj się w sadzawce Siloam – co się tłumaczy: Posłany. Poszedł więc, umył się i wrócił, widząc.
8 And his neighbors, and they by whom he had before been seen begging, said: Is not this he, who sat and begged?
A sąsiedzi i ci, którzy go przedtem widywali ślepego, mówili: Czy to nie jest ten, który siadał i żebrał?
9 Some said, It is he: and others said, No; but he is very like him. But he said: I am he.
Jedni mówili: To on. A inni: Jest do niego podobny. Lecz on mówił: [To] ja jestem.
10 And they said to him: How were thy eyes opened?
Wtedy zapytali go: Jak zostały otworzone twoje oczy?
11 He answered, and said to them: A man whose name is Jesus, made mud and spread it on my eyes, and said to me, Go, wash in the waters of Siloam. And I went, and washed, and my sight was restored.
A on odpowiedział: Człowiek, którego nazywają Jezusem, zrobił błoto, pomazał moje oczy i powiedział do mnie: Idź do sadzawki Siloam i umyj się. Poszedłem więc, umyłem się i przejrzałem.
12 They said to him: Where is he? He said to them: I know not.
Wtedy zapytali go: Gdzież on jest? Odpowiedział: Nie wiem.
13 And they brought him that had been blind, before the Pharisees.
Przyprowadzili więc do faryzeuszy tego, który przedtem był ślepy.
14 Now it was on the sabbath that Jesus made the mud, and opened his eyes.
A [tego dnia], gdy Jezus zrobił błoto i otworzył jego oczy, był szabat.
15 And again the Pharisees asked him: How was thy sight restored? And he said to them: He put mud upon my eyes, and I washed, and my sight was restored.
Wówczas również faryzeusze pytali go, w jaki sposób przejrzał. A on im odpowiedział: Nałożył mi błoto na oczy, umyłem się i widzę.
16 And some of the Pharisees said: This man is not of God, for he doth not observe the sabbath. But others said: How can a man that is a sinner, work these signs? And there was a division among them.
Wtedy niektórzy z faryzeuszy powiedzieli: Ten człowiek nie jest z Boga, bo nie przestrzega szabatu. Inni natomiast mówili: Jak może grzeszny człowiek czynić takie cuda? I nastąpił wśród nich rozłam.
17 They say again to the blind man: What sayest thou of him, seeing he hath opened thy eyes? He said to them: I say, that he is a prophet.
Zapytali więc znowu ślepego: Co mówisz o nim, skoro otworzył twoje oczy? A on odpowiedział: Jest prorokiem.
18 And the Jews would not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and recovered sight, until they called the parents of him who recovered sight.
A Żydzi nie wierzyli, że był ślepy i odzyskał wzrok, aż zawołali rodziców tego, który przejrzał.
19 And they asked them: Is this your son, of whom ye say that he was born blind? And how doth he now see?
I pytali ich: Czy to jest wasz syn, o którym mówicie, że się urodził ślepy? Jakże więc teraz widzi?
20 And his parents answered and said: We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
Odpowiedzieli im jego rodzice: Wiemy, że to jest nasz syn i że się urodził ślepy.
21 but how he now seeth, or who opened his eyes, we know not. He hath come to his years, ask him; he will speak for himself.
Lecz jakim [sposobem] teraz widzi, nie wiemy, ani kto otworzył jego oczy, nie wiemy. Ma [swoje] lata, pytajcie go, on sam o sobie powie.
22 These things said his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had decided, that if any one should confess him to be Messiah, they would expel him from the synagogue.
Tak mówili jego rodzice, bo bali się Żydów. Żydzi bowiem już postanowili, że każdy, kto wyzna, iż on jest Chrystusem, będzie wyłączony z synagogi.
23 For this reason his parents said, He hath come to his years, ask him.
Dlatego jego rodzice powiedzieli: Ma [swoje] lata, jego pytajcie.
24 And they called a second time the man who had been blind, and said to him: Give glory to God; for we know that this man is a sinner.
Wtedy znowu zawołali tego człowieka, który był ślepy i powiedzieli do niego: Oddaj chwałę Bogu. My wiemy, że ten człowiek jest grzeszny.
25 He replied, and said to them: Whether he is a sinner, I know not; but, one thing I know, that I was blind, and lo, now I see.
A on odpowiedział: Czy jest grzeszny, nie wiem. To tylko wiem, że byłem ślepy, a teraz widzę.
26 They said to him again: What did he to thee? How did he open thy eyes?
I zapytali go znowu: Cóż ci uczynił? Jak otworzył twoje oczy?
27 He said to them: I have told you, and ye did not hear. Why would ye hear again? Do ye also wish to become his disciples?
Odpowiedział im: Już wam powiedziałem, a nie słuchaliście. Dlaczego jeszcze chcecie słuchać? Czy i wy chcecie być jego uczniami?
28 But they reproached him, and said to him: Thou art his disciple, but we are the disciples of Moses.
Wtedy złorzeczyli mu i powiedzieli: Ty bądź [sobie] jego uczniem, my zaś jesteśmy uczniami Mojżesza.
29 And we know that God conversed with Moses; but as for this man, we know not whence he is.
My wiemy, że Bóg mówił do Mojżesza, lecz skąd on jest, nie wiemy.
30 The man replied and said to them: In this therefore is something to be admired, that ye know not whence he is, and yet he hath opened my eyes.
Odpowiedział im ten człowiek: To naprawdę rzecz dziwna, że wy nie wiecie, skąd jest, a otworzył moje oczy.
31 Now we know, that God heareth not the voice of sinners; but him that feareth him, and doeth his pleasure, him he heareth.
A wiemy, że Bóg nie wysłuchuje grzeszników, ale jeśli ktoś jest czcicielem Boga i wypełnia jego wolę, tego wysłuchuje.
Od wieków nie słyszano, aby ktoś otworzył oczy ślepego od urodzenia. (aiōn g165)
33 If this man were not of God, he could not do this thing.
Gdyby on nie był od Boga, nie mógłby nic uczynić.
34 They replied, and said to him: Thou wast wholly born in sins; and dost thou teach us? And they expelled him.
Odpowiedzieli mu: Urodziłeś się cały w grzechach i ty nas uczysz? I wypędzili go precz.
35 And Jesus heard that they had expelled him; and he found him, and said to him: Believest thou on the Son of God?
A gdy Jezus usłyszał, że go wypędzili, znalazł go i zapytał: Czy wierzysz w Syna Bożego?
36 And he that was healed, answered and said: My Lord, who is he, that I may believe on him?
A on odpowiedział: A któż to jest, Panie, abym w niego wierzył?
37 Jesus said to him: Thou hast seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
I powiedział do niego Jezus: I widziałeś go, i ten, który mówi z tobą, jest nim.
38 And he said: My Lord, I believe: and he fell down, and worshipped him.
A on powiedział: Wierzę, Panie! I oddał mu pokłon.
39 And Jesus said: For the judgment of this world, have I come; that they who see not, might see; and that they who see, might become blind.
Jezus mu powiedział: Przyszedłem na ten świat na sąd, aby ci, którzy nie widzą, widzieli, a ci, którzy widzą, stali się ślepi.
40 And some of those Pharisees who were with him, heard these things; and they said to him: How? Are we also blind?
I usłyszeli to niektórzy z faryzeuszy, którzy z nim byli, i zapytali go: Czy i my jesteśmy ślepi?
41 Jesus said to them: If ye were blind, ye would be without sin; but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin is established.
Jezus im odpowiedział: Gdybyście byli ślepi, nie mielibyście grzechu, lecz teraz mówicie: Widzimy – dlatego wasz grzech pozostaje.
