< John 2 >

1 And on the third day there was a feast in Cana, a city of Galilee: and the mother of Jesus was there.
The third day, there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee [District, Circuit]. Yeshua [Salvation]'s mother was there.
2 And also Jesus and his disciples were invited to the feast.
Yeshua [Salvation] also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And the wine fell short: and his mother said to Jesus: They have no wine.
When the wine ran out, Yeshua [Salvation]'s mother said to him, “They have no wine.”
4 Jesus said to her: What is in common to me and thee? Not yet hath my hour come.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the waiters: Whatever he saith to you, do it.
His mother said to the servants, “Whatever he says to you, do it.”
6 And there were there six waterpots of stone, set for the purification of Jews, containing each two or three quadrantalia.
Now there were six water pots of stone set there after the Judean [Person from Praise] way of purifying, containing two to three metretes [20 to 30 gal; 37.85 to 75.7 L] for each pot, [a total of 1,200 to 1,800 gal; 188.7 to 315 L].
7 Jesus said to them: Fill those water-pots with water. And they filled them to the top.
Yeshua [Salvation] said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.” They filled them up to the brim.
8 He said to them: Draw now, and carry to the master of the feast. And they carried.
He said to them, “Now draw some out, and take it to the ruler of the feast.” So they took it.
9 And when the master of the feast tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know whence it came, (although the waiters knew, as they had filled the pots with water, ) the master of the feast called the bridegroom,
When the ruler of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and didn’t know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the ruler of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 and said to him: Every man first bringeth forward the good wine, and when they are satiated, then that which is inferior; but thou hast kept the good wine till now.
and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. You have kept the good wine until now!”
11 This is the first sign, which Jesus wrought at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory: and his disciples believed on him.
This beginning of his signs Yeshua [Salvation] did in Cana of Galilee [District, Circuit], and revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.
12 Afterwards he went down to Capernaum, he and his mother and his brothers and his disciples; and they were there a few days.
After this, he went down to Capernaum [Village-Comfort, Village-Compassion], he, and his mother, his brothers, and his disciples; and they stayed there a few days.
13 And the pass over of the Jews drew near; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
The Pesac ·Passover· in Judah [Praised] was at hand, and Yeshua [Salvation] went up to Jerusalem [City of peace].
14 And he found in the temple those who sold beeves and sheep and doves, and the money-changers sitting there.
He found in the temple those who sold oxen, sheep, and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
15 And he made himself a whip from a cord, and turned them all out of the temple, and the sheep and the beeves and the money-changers; and he poured out their money, and overset their tables:
He made a whip of cords, and threw all out of the temple, both the sheep and the oxen; and he poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew their tables.
16 and he said to them that sold doves, Take away these things; and make not my Father's house a house of traffic.
To those who sold the doves, he said, “Take these things out of here! Don’t make 'Avi ·my Father·’s house a marketplace!”
17 And his disciples remembered, that it is written: The zeal of thy house hath devoured me.
(His disciples later remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will eat me up.”)
18 But the Jews replied, and said to him: What sign showest thou to us, since thou doest these things?
The Jews [Praisers] therefore answered him, “What sign do you show us, seeing that you do these things?”
19 Jesus answered, and said to them: Demolish this temple, and in three days I will again erect it.
Yeshua [Salvation] answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 The Jews said to him: Forty and six years, this temple was building; and wilt thou build it again in three days?
The Jews [Praisers] therefore said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple! Will you raise it up in three days?”
21 But he spake of the temple of his body.
But he spoke of the temple of his body.
22 And when he was arisen from the dead, his disciples remembered, that he spoke this: and they believed the scriptures, and the word that Jesus spake.
When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he said this, and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Yeshua [Salvation] had said.
23 And while Jesus was in Jerusalem, at the feast of the passover, many believed on him, because they saw the signs he wrought.
Now when he was in Jerusalem [City of peace] at the Pesac ·Passover·, during the feast, many believed in his name, observing his signs which he did.
24 But Jesus did not confide himself to them; because he knew all men:
But Yeshua [Salvation] didn’t trust himself to them, because he knew everyone,
25 And he needed not that any one should testify to him respecting any man; for he himself knew what is in man.
and because he didn’t need for anyone to testify concerning man; for he himself knew what was in man.
