1 Corinthians 16
1 And as to the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of the Galatians, so do ye.
Pour la collecte en faveur des fidèles, vous suivrez, vous aussi, les indications que j'ai données aux Églises de Galatie;
2 On each first day of the week, let every one of you lay aside and preserve at home, what he is able; that there may be no collections when I come.
le premier jour de chaque semaine, chacun de vous mettra quelque chose de côté chez lui, et réunira ainsi ce qu'il peut donner pour que la collecte ne se fasse pas seulement à mon arrivée.
3 And when I come, those whom ye shall select, I will send with a letter, to carry your bounty to Jerusalem.
Quand je serai là, j'enverrai au moyen d'une lettre ceux que vous aurez choisis porter vos offrandes à Jérusalem;
4 And if it should be suitable that I also go, they shall go with me.
s'il convient que j'y aille moi-même, ils feront le voyage avec moi.
5 And I will come to you, when I pass from Macedonia; for I am about to pass through Macedonia.
Je viendrai chez vous en passant par la Macédoine; je ne ferai, en effet, que la traverser,
6 And perhaps I shall remain with you, or winter with you; that ye may accompany me whither I go.
mais chez vous il est possible que je m'arrête et même que je passe l'hiver pour que vous me conduisiez là où j'irai.
7 For I am not disposed to see you now, as I pass along; because I hope to spend some time with you, if my Lord permit me.
Je ne veux pas, cette fois, vous voir seulement en passant, et j'espère rester quelque temps avec vous, s'il plaît au Seigneur.
8 For I shall continue at Ephesus until Pentecost:
Mais je resterai à Éphèse jusqu'à la Pentecôte,
9 because a great door is opened to me, which is full of occupations; and the opposers are numerous.
car une porte d'activité s'y est ouverte pour moi toute grande, et les opposants sont nombreux.
10 And if Timothy come to you, see that he may be without fear among you; for he doeth the work of the Lord, as I do.
Si Timothée vient, ayez soin qu'il n'ait rien à craindre au milieu de vous, car il travaille à l'oeuvre du Seigneur, tout comme moi.
11 Therefore, let no one despise him; but conduct him on in peace, that he may come to me; for I wait for him with the brethren.
Que personne donc ne le méprise, et reconduisez-le en paix pour qu'il vienne auprès de moi, car je l'attends avec les frères.
12 As for Apollos, my brethren, I entreated him much to go with the brethren to you; but his inclination was not to go to you now; but when he shall have opportunity, he will go to you.
Quant à notre frère Apollos, je l'ai vivement engagé à aller chez vous avec les autres frères; mais il ne veut décidément pas aller maintenant; il ira quand il en aura le loisir.
13 Watch ye, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be valiant.
Veillez, soyez fermes dans la foi, soyez virils, soyez forts.
14 Let all your affairs be conducted with love.
Faites, tout dans un esprit d'amour.
15 I beseech you, my brethren, concerning the household of Stephanas; (for ye know, that they were the first-fruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to ministering to the saints; )
Encore une prière, mes frères! Vous connaissez la famille de Stephanas; elle est la première de l’Achaïe qui ait cru, elle s'est dévouée au service des fidèles;
16 that ye also give ear to them who are such; and to every one, that laboreth with us and aideth.
eh bien, ayez de la déférence pour des personnes semblables et pour quiconque agit et travaille avec elles.
17 And I rejoice at the arrival of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for they have supplied that wherein ye were deficient towards me.
Je suis heureux de la visite de Stephanas, de Fortunatus et d'Achaïcus; ils ont suppléé à votre absence;
18 And they have refreshed my spirit, and yours: therefore acknowledge ye them who are such.
car ils ont tranquillisé mon esprit et le vôtre. Sachez apprécier de tels hommes!
19 All the churches that are in Asia, salute you. Aquila and Priscilla, with the church in their house, salute you much in the Lord.
Les Églises d'Asie vous saluent. Aquilas et Prisca vous envoient bien des salutations dans le Seigneur ainsi que l'Église qui s'assemble dans leur maison.
20 All the brethren salute you. Salute ye one another with a holy kiss.
Tous les frères vous saluent. Saluez vous les uns les autres d'un saint baiser.
21 The salutation in the handwriting of myself, Paul.
Je vous salue en écrivant moi-même: Paul.
22 Whoever loveth not our Lord Jesus the Messiah, let him be accursed: our Lord cometh.
Si quelqu'un n'aime pas le Seigneur, qu'il soit anathème! Maranatha.
23 The grace of our Lord Jesus the Messiah be with you.
La grâce du Seigneur Jésus soit avec vous.
24 And my love be with you all, in the Messiah, Jesus. Amen.
