John 6
1 AFTER these Jeshu went over the Sea of Galila of Tiberios,
Hierauf fuhr Jesus an das andere Ufer des Galiläischen Meeres, das auch See von Tiberias genannt wird.
2 and great multitudes went after him, because they had seen the signs which he wrought on the diseased.
Eine große Menge folgte ihm, weil sie die Zeichen sahen, die er an den Kranken wirkte.
3 And Jeshu ascended a mountain, and there sat with his disciples.
Und Jesus stieg auf den Berg, wo er sich mit seinen Jüngern niedersetzte.
4 Now the feast of the petscha of the Jihudoyee drew nigh.
Das Hauptfest der Juden, Ostern, war nahe.
5 And Jeshu lifted up his eyes, and saw the great assembly which had come to him; and he said to Philipos, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
Als Jesus die Augen erhob und sah, wie eine große Menge auf ihn zukam, da sprach er zu Philippus: "Wo werden wir wohl Brote kaufen, daß diese essen können?"
6 But this he said trying him; for he knew what he was about to do.
Er sagte dies aber nur, um ihn auf die Probe zu stellen; er wußte ja ganz gut, was er tun wollte.
7 Philipos saith to him, Two hundred dinoreen of bread is not sufficient for them, that a little every one of them may take.
Philippus antwortete ihm: "Brot für zweihundert Denare reicht für diese nicht aus, wenn jeder auch nur ein wenig erhalten soll."
8 Saith to him one of his disciples, Andreas, brother of Shemun Kipha,
Andreas, einer seiner Jünger, der Bruder des Simon Petrus, sprach zu ihm:
9 There is here a certain youth, who hath with him five cakes of barley and two fishes; but these what are they for these all?
"Es ist ein Knabe hier, der fünf Gerstenbrote und zwei Fische hat; allein, was ist das für so viele?"
10 Jeshu saith to them, Make all the men recline; for there was much herbage in that place. And the men reclined, in number five thousand.
Darauf sprach Jesus: "Lasset die Leute sich setzen." Viel Gras war nämlich an dem Ort. Es lagerten sich die Männer, etwa fünftausend an der Zahl.
11 And Jeshu took the bread, and blessed, and divided unto those who reclined, and likewise also of the fishes, as much as they willed.
Und Jesus nahm die Brote, sprach ein Dankgebet und ließ sie an die Leute, die sich gesetzt hatten, verteilen; ebenso die Fische, soviel sie eben wollten.
12 And when they were satisfied, he said to his disciples, Gather the fragments that abound, that nothing be lost;
Als sie nun satt geworden waren, sprach er zu seinen Jüngern: "Sammelt die Brocken, die übriggeblieben sind, damit nichts zugrunde gehe"
13 and they gathered and filled twelve baskets of fragments, those which abounded unto them who had eaten of the five loaves of barley.
Sie lasen auf und füllten zwölf Körbe voll mit Brocken der fünf Gerstenbrote; soviel war vom Essen übriggeblieben.
14 But those men, when they had seen the sign which Jeshu had wrought, said, Truly this is the Prophet that cometh into the world.
Als die Leute sahen, welches Zeichen Jesus gewirkt hatte, riefen sie: "Da ist wahrhaftig der Prophet, der in die Welt kommen soll."
15 But when Jeshu knew that they were about to come to seize him and make him the King, he passed away to a mountain alone.
Doch Jesus merkte, daß sie kommen würden und ihn mit Gewalt fortführen wollten, um ihn zum König zu machen. Er zog sich deshalb ganz allein wieder auf den Berg zurück.
16 AND when it was eventide, his disciples went down to the sea.
Als es Abend ward, begaben sich seine Jünger ans Meer hinab.
17 And they sat in a vessel, and went over for Kapher-nachum. And it was dark, and Jeshu had not come to them.
Dort bestiegen sie ein Boot und fuhren übers Meer auf Kapharnaum zu. Es war schon dunkel, und Jesus war noch nicht zu ihnen gekommen.
18 But the sea had risen against them, because a great wind blew.
Das Meer war durch einen heftigen Sturm aufgewühlt.
19 And they had led stadia twentyfive or thirty, and they saw Jeshu walking upon the sea, and drawing nigh to the vessel; and they feared.
Sie waren etwa fünfundzwanzig oder dreißig Stadien Welt gerudert; da sahen sie Jesus auf dem Meere wandeln und immer näher auf das Boot zukommen. Und sie erschraken.
20 But Jeshu himself said to them, I am, fear not.
Er aber redete sie an: "Ich bin es, habt keine Furcht."
21 And they willed to receive him into the vessel, and soon that vessel was at that land to which they were going.
Sie wollten ihn nun ins Boot nehmen, doch sogleich war das Boot am Land, auf das sie zuhielten.
22 The day after the people that stood on the opposite shore of the sea saw that there was not another vessel there except that into which the disciples had ascended, and that Jeshu had not entered with his disciples into the vessel;
Des anderen 'Tages bemerkte die Menge, die am anderen Meeresufer zurückgeblieben war, daß nur ein einziges Fahrzeug dagewesen, daß Jesus mit seinen Jüngern nicht ins Boot gestiegen sei, daß vielmehr seine Jünger allein abgefahren seien.
23 but there came other boats from Tiberios near the place, where they did eat bread when Jeshu had blessed.
Indessen kamen andere Schiffe von Tiberias nahe an den Platz, wo sie nach dem Dankgebet des Herrn das Brot gegessen hatten.
24 And when that company saw that Jeshu was not there nor his disciples, they ascended into those boats, and came to Kapher-nachum. And they sought Jeshu;
Als die Menge sah, daß weder Jesus noch seine Jünger dort geblieben seien, bestiegen auch sie die Boote und fuhren nach Kapharnaum und suchten Jesus.
25 and when they had found him on the opposite side of the sea, they say to him, Raban, when camest thou hither?
Sie fanden ihn am anderen Ufer und fragten ihn: "Rabbi, wann bist du hierher gekommen?"
26 Jeshu answered and said to them, Amen, amen, I tell you, You seek me, not because you considered the signs, but because you did eat the bread, and were satisfied.
Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, wahrlich ich sage euch: Ihr sucht mich nicht, weil ihr Zeichen gesehen habt, sondern weil ihr von den Broten gegessen habt und satt geworden seid.
27 Work not (for) the food which perisheth, but (for) the food that endureth unto the life that is eternal, which the Son of man shall give to you: for this hath the Father sealed, (even) Aloha. (aiōnios g166)
Bemüht euch nicht um die vergängliche Speise, vielmehr um die Speise, die zum ewigen Leben vorhält, die der Menschensohn euch geben wird; ihn hat Gott, der Vater ja besiegelt." (aiōnios g166)
28 They say to him, What shall we do that we may work the works of Aloha?
Da sagten sie zu ihm: "Was müssen wir denn tun, um die Werke Gottes zu verrichten?"
29 Jeshu answered and said to them, This is the work of Aloha, that you believe in Him whom he hath sent.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Das ist das Werk Gottes, daß ihr an den glaubt, den er gesandt hat."
30 THEY say to him, What sign doest thou that we may see, and believe in thee? What performest thou?
Sie fragten ihn: "Welches Zeichen wirkst du denn, daß wir es sehen und an dich glauben? Welches Werk vollbringst du?
31 Our fathers manna did eat in the desert, as it is written, that bread from heaven be gave them to eat.
Unsere Väter haben das Manna in der Wüste gegessen, so wie geschrieben steht: 'Brot vom Himmel gab er ihnen zur Speise.'"
32 Jeshu saith to them, Amen, amen, I tell you, That Musha gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven:
Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Nicht Moses gab euch das Himmelsbrot, sondern mein Vater gibt euch das wahre Himmelsbrot;
33 for the bread of Aloha is He who hath descended from heaven, and giveth life to the world.
der ist das Gottesbrot, der aus dem Himmel kommt und der Welt das Leben schenkt."
34 They say to him, Our Lord, at all time give us this bread.
Da riefen sie ihm zu: "Herr, gib uns immerdar dieses Brot!"
35 Jeshu saith to them, I am the bread of life: he who cometh to me shall not hunger, and he who believeth in me shall not thirst, for ever.
Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Ich bin das Brot des Lebens. Wer zu mir kommt, den wird es nicht mehr hungern; wer an mich glaubt, den wird es nie mehr dürsten.
36 But I have told you that you have seen me, and have not believed.
Indes, ich habe es euch ja schon gesagt: Ihr habt mich zwar gesehen, doch ihr glaubt nicht.
37 Every one whom the Father hath given me, unto me will come; and him who unto me shall come, I will not cast out.
Alles, was mir der Vater gibt, das kommt zu mir, und wer zu mir kommt, den stoße ich nicht zurück.
38 I descended from heaven not to do mine own will, but the will of Him who sent me.
Ich bin vom Himmel herabgestiegen, nicht um meinen eigenen Willen zu vollbringen, sondern den Willen dessen, der mich gesandt hat.
39 But this is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all whom he hath given me I shall lose not of him, but shall raise him at the last day.
Das aber ist der Wille dessen, der mich gesandt hat: Ich soll nichts von dem, was er mir gegeben hat, verlorengehen lassen, vielmehr es auferwecken am Jüngsten Tage.
40 For this is the will of my Father, that every one who seeth the Son and believeth on him, shall have the life that is eternal, and I will raise him at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
So ist es der Wille meines Vaters, daß jeder, der den Sohn sieht und an ihn glaubt, das ewige Leben habe; ich aber werde ihn auferwecken am Jüngsten Tage." (aiōnios g166)
41 But the Jihudoyee murmured against him because he said, I am the bread which hath descended from heaven.
Da murrten die Juden über ihn, weil er gesagt hatte: "Ich bin das lebendige Brot, das aus dem Himmel gekommen ist."
42 And they said, Is not this Jeshu bar Jauseph, he whose father and mother we know? and how saith this, From heaven I have descended?
Sie sprachen: "Ist das nicht Jesus, der Sohn Josephs? Und kennen wir nicht seinen Vater und seine Mutter? Wie kann er sagen: 'Ich bin vom Himmel herabgekommen?'"
43 Jeshu answered and said to them, Murmur not one with another.
Doch Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Murret nicht untereinander!
44 No man can come to me unless the Father who sent me shall attract him, and I will raise him at the last day.
Niemand kann zu mir kommen, wenn ihn nicht der Vater, der mich gesandt hat, zieht; und ich werde ihn auferwecken am Jüngsten Tage.
45 It is written in the prophet, that they shall be all taught of Aloha: every one, therefore, who hath heard from the Father and learned of him, cometh unto me.
Bei den Propheten steht geschrieben: 'Sie alle werden Schüler Gottes sein.' Wer immer auf den Vater hört und sich belehren läßt, der kommt zu mir.
46 There is no man who hath seen the Father, but he who is from Aloha, he hath seen the Father.
Nicht, als ob je einer den Vater gesehen hätte. Nur der, der bei Gott ist, hat den Vater gesehen.
47 AMEN, amen, I say to you, Whosoever believeth in me hath the life which is eternal. (aiōnios g166)
Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wer glaubt, hat ewiges Leben. (aiōnios g166)
48 I am the bread of life.
Ich bin das Brot des Lebens.
49 Your fathers did eat manna in the desert, and are dead:
Eure Väter haben das Manna in der Wüste gegessen und sind gestorben.
50 but this is the bread which hath descended from heaven, that man may eat of it, and die not.
Das Brot, das aus dem Himmel kommt, ist solcher Art, daß keiner stirbt, der davon ißt.
51 I am the bread of life that from heaven hath descended; and if man shall eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give is my body, which for the life of the world I give. (aiōn g165)
Ich bin das lebendige Brot, das aus dem Himmel gekommen ist. Wer von diesem Brot ißt, wird ewig leben. Das Brot, das ich geben werde, ist mein Fleisch für das Leben der Welt." (aiōn g165)
52 The Jihudoyee contended one with another, saying, How can this his body give to us to eat?
Da stritten die Juden untereinander und sagten: "Wie kann uns dieser das Fleisch zu essen geben?"
53 And Jeshu said to them, Amen, amen, I tell you, That unless you eat the body of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in yourselves.
Jesus aber sprach zu ihnen: "Wahrlich, wahrlich, ich sage euch: Wenn ihr das Fleisch des Menschensohnes nicht essen und sein Blut nicht trinken werdet, so werdet ihr das Leben nicht in euch haben.
54 He who eateth of my body, and drinketh of my blood, hath the life which is eternal, and I will raise him at the last day. (aiōnios g166)
Wer mein Fleisch ißt und mein Blut trinkt, hat ewiges Leben, und ich werde ihn auferwecken am Jüngsten Tage. (aiōnios g166)
55 For my body is truly food, and my blood is truly drink.
Denn mein Fleisch ist wirklich eine Speise und mein Blut wirklich ein Trank.
56 He who eateth my body, and drinketh my blood, abideth in me, and I in him.
Wer mein Fleisch ißt und mein Blut trinkt, der bleibt in mir und ich in ihm.
57 As the Father the Living (one) who hath sent me, and I live by the Father, even so he who shall eat me, shall live, too, by me.
Wie mich der lebendige Vater gesandt hat und ich kraft des Vaters lebe, so wird auch, wer mich ißt, durch mich leben.
58 This is the bread which hath descended from heaven. Not as was the manna that your fathers ate, and are dead; he who eateth of this bread shall live for ever. (aiōn g165)
So ist das Brot, das aus dem Himmel herabgekommen ist, nicht wie jenes, das die Väter gegessen haben, die gestorben sind. Wer dieses Brot ißt, wird ewig leben." (aiōn g165)
59 These things he spake in the synagogue, as he taught in Kapher-nachum.
Dies sprach er, als er zu Kapharnaum in der Synagoge lehrte.
60 And many of his disciples who heard said, A hard word is this: who can hear it?
Viele seiner Jünger, die zugehört hatten, erklärten: "Diese Rede ist schwer zu ertragen; wer mag ihn weiter anhören?"
61 BUT Jeshu knew in himself that his disciples murmured concerning this; and he said to them, Does this stumble you?
Doch Jesus wußte von sich aus, daß seine Jünger darüber murrten, und er sprach zu ihnen: "Ihr nehmt daran Anstoß?
62 If you shall see then the Son of man ascend up to the place where he was from the first?
Wenn ihr den Menschensohn nun dahin auffahren seht, wo er zuvor war?
63 It is the Spirit that maketh alive, the body profiteth nothing: the words which I have spoken to you, they are spirit and they are life.
Der Geist ist es, der lebendig macht; das Fleisch nützt nichts. Die Worte, die ich zu euch gesprochen habe, sind Geist und Leben.
64 But there are some of you who do not believe. For Jeshu knew from the first who they were who believed not, and who it was who would betray him.
Doch es sind einige unter euch, die nicht glauben." Denn Jesus wußte von Anfang an, wer die wären, die nicht glauben, und wer der ist, der ihn verraten würde.
65 And he said to them, On account of this I told you that no man can come to me, unless it be given him of my Father.
So fuhr er fort: "Deshalb habe ich zu euch gesagt: Zu mir kann niemand kommen, wenn es ihm nicht vom Vater gegeben ist."
66 On account of this word many of his disciples went back, and walked not with him.
Von da an zogen sich viele seiner Jünger ganz zurück und gingen nicht mehr mit ihm.
67 Jeshu said to the twelve, Do you also will to go?
Da fragte Jesus die Zwölf: "Wollt vielleicht auch ihr weggehen?"
68 Shemun Kipha answered and said, My Lord, unto whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life; (aiōnios g166)
Darauf gab ihm Simon Petrus zur Antwort: "Herr, zu wem sollen wir gehen? Du hast Worte ewigen Lebens. (aiōnios g166)
69 and we believe and know that thou art the Meshicha, the Son of Aloha the Living.
Wir glauben und wir wissen, daß du der Heilige Gottes bist."
70 Jeshu saith to them, Have I not chosen you twelve, and from you one is Satana?
Und Jesus sprach zu ihnen: "Habe ich nicht euch Zwölf mir auserwählt? Und doch - einer aus euch ist ein Teufel."
71 He spake concerning Jihuda bar Shemun Scarjuta; for he it was who would betray him, one from the twelve.
Damit meinte er den Judas Iskariot, den Sohn des Simon; denn dieser war daran, ihn zu verraten; einer aus den Zwölfen.
