1 I crocus [the] Sharon lily [the] valley
Ich bin eine Blume zu Saron und eine Rose im Tal.
2 like/as lily between: among [the] thistle so darling my between: among [the] daughter
Wie eine Rose unter den Dornen, so ist meine Freundin unter den Töchtern.
3 like/as apple in/on/with tree [the] wood so beloved my between: among [the] son: descendant/people in/on/with shadow his to desire and to dwell and fruit his sweet to/for palate my
Wie ein Apfelbaum unter den wilden Bäumen, so ist mein Freund unter den Söhnen. Ich sitze unter dem Schatten, des ich begehre, und seine Frucht ist meiner Kehle süß.
4 to come (in): bring me to(wards) house: home [the] wine and standard his upon me love
Er führet mich in den Weinkeller, und die Liebe ist sein Panier über mir.
5 to support me in/on/with raisin bun to spread me in/on/with apple for be weak: ill love I
Er erquicket mich mit Blumen und labet mich mit Äpfeln; denn ich bin krank vor Liebe.
6 left his underneath: under to/for head my and right his to embrace me
Seine Linke liegt unter meinem Haupte, und seine Rechte herzet mich.
7 to swear [obj] you daughter Jerusalem in/on/with gazelle or in/on/with doe [the] land: country if: surely no to rouse and if: surely no to rouse [obj] [the] love till which/that to delight in
Ich beschwöre euch, ihr Töchter Jerusalems, bei den Rehen oder bei den Hinden auf dem Felde, daß ihr meine Freundin nicht aufwecket noch reget, bis daß ihr selbst gefällt.
8 voice beloved my behold this to come (in): come to leap upon [the] mountain: mount to gather upon [the] hill
Da ist die Stimme meines Freundes. Siehe, er kommt und hüpfet auf den Bergen und springet auf den Hügeln!
9 to resemble beloved my to/for gazelle or to/for fawn [the] deer behold this to stand: stand after wall our to gaze from [the] window to gaze from [the] lattice
Mein Freund ist gleich einem Rehe oder jungen Hirsch. Siehe, er stehet hinter unserer Wand und siehet durchs Fenster und gucket durchs Gitter.
10 to answer beloved my and to say to/for me to arise: rise to/for you darling my beautiful my and to go: went to/for you
Mein Freund antwortet und spricht zu mir: Stehe auf, meine Freundin, meine Schöne, und komm her!

Denn siehe, der Winter ist vergangen, der Regen ist weg und dahin;
12 [the] flower to see: see in/on/with land: soil time [the] branch to touch and voice [the] turtledove to hear: hear in/on/with land: country/planet our
die Blumen sind hervorkommen im Lande, der Lenz ist herbeikommen, und die Turteltaube läßt sich hören in unserm Lande;

der Feigenbaum hat Knoten gewonnen, die Weinstöcke haben Augen gewonnen und geben ihren Geruch. Stehe auf, meine Freundin, und komm, meine Schöne, komm her!

Meine Taube in den Felslöchern, in den Steinritzen, zeige mir deine Gestalt, laß mich hören deine Stimme! Denn deine Stimme ist süß und deine Gestalt lieblich.
15 to grasp to/for us fox fox small to destroy vineyard and vineyard our blossom
Fahet uns die Füchse, die kleinen Füchse, die die Weinberge verderben; denn unsere Weinberge haben Augen gewonnen.

Mein Freund ist mein, und ich bin sein, der unter den Rosen weidet,

bis der Tag kühle werde und der Schatten weiche. Kehre um, werde wie ein Reh, mein Freund, oder wie ein junger Hirsch auf den Scheidebergen!
