Jeremiah 50
1 The word which he spoke Yahweh concerning Babylon concerning [the] land of [the] Chaldeans by [the] hand of Jeremiah the prophet.
Det ordet som Herren tala um Babel, um Kaldæarlandet, ved profeten Jeremia.
2 Declare among the nations and make a proclamation and lift up a standard make a proclamation may not you hide [it] say it will be captured Babylon it will be put to shame Bel it will be shattered Marduk they will be put to shame images its they will be shattered idols its.
Kunngjer det millom folki, og lat det frettast og set upp hermerke! Lat det frettast, dyl det ikkje! Seg: Babel er teki, Bel hev vorte til skammar, Merodak er livskræmd, hennar gudebilæte er vortne til skammar, hennar ufysne avgudar er livskræmde.
3 For it will go up on it a nation from [the] north it it will make land its into a waste and not he will be an inhabitant in it from humankind and unto animal[s] they will take flight they will go.
For eit folk kjem imot det nordantil, det gjer hennar land til ei øydemark, so ingen bur i det: både folk og fe er flydde, er burte.
4 In the days those and at the time that [the] utterance of Yahweh they will come [the] people of Israel they and [the] people of Judah together going and weeping they will go and Yahweh God their they will seek.
I dei dagarne og i den tidi, segjer Herren, skal Israels-borni koma, dei og Juda-borni i lag med einannan; gråtande skal dei ganga og søkja Herren, sin Gud.
5 Zion they will ask for [will be] [the] direction hither faces their come and they will join themselves to Yahweh a covenant of perpetuity not it will be forgotten.
Etter Sion skal dei spyrja, den vegen stemner dei: «Kom, lat oss halda oss til Herren med ei ævepakt som ikkje skal gløymast!»
6 Sheep lost (they have become *QK) people my shepherds their they have caused to wander them mountains (they have led away them *QK) from mountain to hill they have gone they have forgotten resting place their.
Burtkomne sauer var mitt folk. Hyrdingarne deira hadde ført deim på villstig, snutt deim upp i fjelli; frå hamar til haug gjekk dei, gløymde legebolet sitt.
7 All [those who] found them they devoured them and opponents their they said not we are guilty because that they have sinned to Yahweh [the] habitation of righteousness and [the] hope of ancestors their Yahweh.
Alle som fann deim, åt på deim, og uvenerne deira sagde: «Me fær ikkje skuld på oss for det, » - for di dei hadde synda mot Herren, bustaden åt rettferdi, og voni åt federne deira, Herren.
8 Take flight from [the] midst of Babylon and from [the] land of [the] Chaldeans (go forth *QK) and be like male goats before [the] flock.
Fly ut or Babel, far burt or Kaldæarlandet, og ver som bukkar framfyre hjordi!
9 For here! I [am] about to rouse and [am] about to bring up on Babylon an assembly of nations great from a land of [the] north and they will line up to it from there it will be captured arrows its [will be] like a warrior skillful [who] not he returns empty.
For sjå, eg vekkjer upp frå Norderlandet ein skare av store folk og let deim fara mot Babel, og dei skal fylkja seg imot henne; derifrå vert ho teki. Pilerne deira er som frå ei viss-høv kjempa, dei vender ikkje attende med ugjort.
10 And it will become Chaldea plunder all [those who] plunder it they will be satisfied [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Og Kaldæa skal verta til herfang; alle som ranar henne, skal få sitt nøgje, segjer Herren.
11 That (you are rejoicing *Qk) that (you are gloating *Qk) O plunderers of inheritance my that (you are skipping about *Qk) like a heifer threshing (so you may neigh *Qk) like mighty [horses].
Gled dykk berre, fagna dykk berre, de som ranar odelen min! Berre hoppa i veret som kviga når ho treskjer, og kneggja som velduge hestar.
12 She will be ashamed mother your exceedingly she will be abashed [the one who] gave birth you there! [the] last of nations a wilderness a desert and a desert plain.
Mor dykkar vert ovleg til skammar, ho som fødde dykk, skal blygjast; sjå, den siste millom folki vert ho, ei øydemark, eit turt land og ei vill heid.
13 From [the] wrath of Yahweh not it will remain and it will be a waste all of it every [one who] passes by at Babylon he will be appalled and he may hiss on all wounds its.
Ubygd skal ho verta, ei audn all med seg, av di Herren er vreid; alle som fer framum Babel, skal ræddast og spotta yver alle hennar plågor.
14 Line up on Babylon - all around O all [those who] bend a bow shoot against it may not you spare an arrow for to Yahweh it has sinned.
Fylk dykk mot Babel, rundt ikring, alle de bogeskyttarar! Skjot på henne, spar ikkje på pilerne! For mot Herren hev ho synda.
15 Shout out on it all around it will give hand its they will fall (towers its *Qk) they will be torn down walls its for [is] [the] vengeance of Yahweh that avenge yourself on it just as it has done do to it.
Set i herrop mot henne, rundt ikring: «Ho laut gjeva seg; falne er hennar pilarar, nedrivne hennar murar.» For det er Herrens hemn. Hemn dykk på henne! Gjer med henne likeins som ho hev gjort!
16 Cut off [the] sower from Babylon and [one who] wields a sickle at a time of harvest from before [the] sword of the oppressor everyone to people his they will turn and everyone to own land his they will flee.
Ryd ut or Babel både såmannen og den som brukar sigden i skurdonni! For det herjande sverdet skal kvar og ein snu attende til sitt folk, og kvar og ein fly til sitt land.
17 [is] sheep Scattered Israel [which] lions they have driven away the first [lion] he devoured it [the] king of Assyria and this the last [lion] he gnawed bones its Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon.
Israel er ein buvill sau; løva hev jaga honom av; Assur-kongen åt fyrst på honom, og no sist hev Nebukadnessar, Babel-kongen, togge hans bein.
18 Therefore thus he says Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel here I [am] about to visit [judgment] to [the] king of Babylon and to land his just as I visited [judgment] to [the] king of Assyria.
Difor, so segjer Herren, allhers drott, Israels Gud: Sjå, eg heimsøkjer Babel-kongen og landet hans, likeins som eg heimsøkte Assur-kongen.
19 And I will restore Israel to pasture its and it will graze Carmel and Bashan and in [the] hill country of Ephraim and Gilead it will be satisfied appetite its.
Og eg vil snu Israel attende til hans beitemark, og han skal ganga og beita på Karmel og i Basan; og på Efraimsfjelli og i Gilead skal han få eta sitt nøgje.
20 In the days those and at the time that [the] utterance of Yahweh it will be sought [the] iniquity of Israel and there not [will be] it and [the] sins of Judah and not they will be found for I will forgive [those] whom I will leave as a remnant.
I dei dagarne og i den tidi, segjer Herren, vert det leita etter Israels misgjerning, men ho skal ikkje lenger vera til, og etter Judas synder, men dei skal ikkje finnast; for deim som eg let vera att, gjev eg til.
21 On the land of Merathaim go up on it and against [the] inhabitants of Pekod kill and totally destroy after them [the] utterance of Yahweh and do according to all that I have commanded you.
Mot Meratajim-landet - far upp mot det og mot deim som bur i Pekod! Øyd deim og bannstøyt deim, når du set etter deim, segjer Herren, og gjer i heilt upp som eg hev bode deg!
22 A sound of battle [will be] in the land and destruction great.
Det er stridsgny i landet og stort tjon.
23 How! it has been cut off and it has been broken [the] hammer of all the earth how! it has become a horror Babylon among the nations.
Kor er hamaren som slo all jordi sundbroten og sundknasa! Kor er Babel vorti ei skræma millom folki!
24 I set a trap for you and also you were caught O Babylon and you not you knew you were found and also you were caught for with Yahweh you engaged in strife.
Eg sette snara for deg, og du gjekk deg fast, Babel, og visste ikkje av det. Du vart funni, og gripi med; for du hadde gjeve deg i strid med Herren.
25 He has opened Yahweh armory his and he has brought out [the] weapons of indignation his for a work it [belongs] to [the] Lord Yahweh of hosts in [the] land of [the] Chaldeans.
Herren hev late upp våpnhuset sitt og teke ut sine vreidevåpn; for Herren, Herren, allhers drott, hev eit arbeid å gjera i Kaldæarlandet.
26 Come to it from [the] end open granaries its pile up it like heaps and totally destroy it may not it belong to it a remnant.
Kom imot det frå alle leider! Lat upp forrådshusi, kasta det i ein dunge likeins som kornband, og bannstøyt det! Lat ikkje noko verta leivt!
27 Kill all young bulls its let them go down to the slaughter woe! on them for it has come day their [the] time of punishment their.
Tyn alle uksarne, før deim ned til slagting! Usæla yver deim! for dagen deira er komen, den tid dei skal verta heimsøkte.
28 [the] sound of Fugitives and escapees from [the] land of Babylon to declare in Zion [the] vengeance of Yahweh God our [the] vengeance of temple his.
Høyr omen av deim som flyr og kjem seg undan frå Babellandet til å forkynna i Sion at Herren, vår Gud hemner, hemner for templet sitt!
29 Summon against Babylon - archers all [those who] bend a bow encamp on it all around may not (it be to it *QK) escape repay to it according to deed[s] its according to all that it has done do to it for Yahweh it has defied proudly [the] holy [one] of Israel.
Bjod skyttarar ut mot Babel, alle deim som boge kann spenna! Slå læger rundt ikring henne, lat ingen koma seg undan! Lat henne få lika for sine gjerningar, gjer med henne heiltupp som ho sjølv hev gjort! For ho hev ovmoda seg mot Herren, mot Israels Heilage.
30 Therefore they will fall young men its in open places its and all [the] men of war its they will be silenced on the day that [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Difor skal hennar drengjer falla på hennar gator og alle hennar hermenner verta tynte den dagen, segjer Herren.
31 Here I [am] against you O arrogance [the] utterance of [the] Lord Yahweh of hosts that it has come day your [the] time [when] I will visit you.
Sjå, eg kjem yver deg, Ovmod, segjer Herren, Herren, allhers drott; for dagen din er komen, tidi då eg vil heimsøkja deg.
32 And it will stumble arrogance and it will fall and not [will belong] to it [one who] raises up and I will kindle fire in cities its and it will devour all around it.
Og Ovmodet skal snåva og falla, og ingen skal reisa det upp att. Og eg vil kveikja eld på byarne, og han skal øyda alt kringum det.
33 Thus he says Yahweh of hosts [are] oppressed [the] people of Israel and [the] people of Judah together and all captors their they have kept hold on them they have refused to let go them.
So segjer Herren, allhers drott: Trælka er Israels-sønerne og Juda-sønerne i lag med kvarandre; og alle som hertok deim, held deim faste, vil ikkje sleppa deim lause.
34 Redeemer their - [is] strong [is] Yahweh of hosts name his certainly he will conduct case their so as to give rest to the earth and to cause disquiet to [the] inhabitants of Babylon.
Utløysaren deira er sterk, Herren, allhers drott, er namnet hans. Han skal føra saki deira med fynd so han roar jordi, men uroar Babel-buarne.
35 A sword on [the] Chaldeans [the] utterance of Yahweh and against [the] inhabitants of Babylon and against officials its and against wise [people] its.
Sverd yver Kaldæa, segjer Herren, yver Babel-buarne og yver hennar hovdingar og vismenner!
36 A sword against the empty talkers and they will become fools a sword against warriors its and they will be shattered.
Sverd yver pjåtre-kallarne, so dei stend der som dårar! Sverd yver hennar kjempor, so dei vert hugbrotne!
37 A sword against horses its and against chariotry its and against every foreigner who [is] in [the] midst of it and they will become women a sword against treasuries its and they will be plundered.
Sverd yver hennar hestar og vogner og yver alt blandingsfolket hjå henne, so dei vert kvende! Sverd yver hennar skattar so dei vert rana!
38 A drought against waters its and they will dry up for [is] a land of idols it and in terrors they will act like mad people.
Turk yver hennar vatn so dei turkast upp! For det er eit land med avgudsbilæte, og dei ber seg som galne med dei skræmelege gudarne sine.
39 Therefore they will dwell desert-dwellers with hyenas and they will dwell in it daughters of an ostrich and not it will remain again to perpetuity and not it will settle until a generation and a generation.
Difor skal røysekatter med sjakaler halda til der, og strutsar skal hava sitt tilhelde der. Og der skal aldri meir verta bygt, men audt frå ætt til ætt.
40 Like [the] overthrow of God Sodom and Gomorrah and neighbors its [the] utterance of Yahweh not he will dwell there anyone and not he will sojourn in it a child of humankind.
Likeins som då Gud lagde i øyde Sodoma og Gomorra med grannebyar, segjer Herren, so skal ingen mann bu der, og ikkje noko mannsbarn halda til der.
41 There! a people [is] about to come from [the] north and a nation great and kings many they will be roused from [the] remotest parts of [the] earth.
Sjå, eit folk kjem nordanfrå, eit stort folk og velduge kongar ris upp frå utkantarne på jordi.
42 Bow and javelin they will take hold of [will be] cruel they and not they will have mercy sound their [will be] like the sea [which] it roars and on horses they will ride arranged like a man for battle on you O daughter of Babylon.
Boge og spjot ber dei, meinharde er dei og miskunnlause; dunen av deim er som havmarm, og på hestar rid dei, budde som ein mann til bardage mot deg, Babels dotter.
43 He heard [the] king of Babylon report their and they hung limp hands his distress it took hold of him anguish like [woman] giving birth.

44 There! like a lion [which] it goes up from [the] thicket[s] of the Jordan to pastureland of an ever-flowing [stream] for I will act in a moment (I will cause to run them *QK) from on it and whoever [is] chosen to it I will appoint for who? [is] like me and who? will he summon me and who? this [is] a shepherd who he will stand before me.
Sjå det kjem ein upp stigande, som løva ut or tjukkskogen attmed Jordan, og inn på den sigrøne eng; for i ein augneblink vil eg jaga deim burt derifrå, og den som er utvald, vil eg setja yver henne. For kven er min like, og kven vil stemna meg? Og kven er den hyrdingen som stend seg for meg?
45 Therefore hear [the] plan of Yahweh which he has planned against Babylon and purposes his which he has purposed against [the] land of [the] Chaldeans if not people will drag away them [the] young [ones] of the flock if not he will devastate on them [the] pastureland.
Difor, høyr den rådgjerdi Herren hev teke um Babel, og dei tankarne han hev tenkt um Kaldæarlandet: Sanneleg, dei skal dragsa deim burt, dei små lambi, sanneleg, beitemarki deira skal taka fæla av deim.
46 From [the] sound it has been captured Babylon it will quake the earth and a cry of distress among the nations it will be heard.
Av ropet: «Babel er teki!» bivrar jordi, og millom folki skrik dei ende yver seg.
