Jeremiah 46
1 Which it came [the] word of Yahweh to Jeremiah the prophet on the nations.
Detta är vad som kom till profeten Jeremia såsom HERRENS ord om hednafolken.
2 Of Egypt on [the] army of Pharaoh Necho [the] king of Egypt which it was at [the] river of Euphrates at Carchemish which he struck down Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon in [the] year fourth of Jehoiakim [the] son of Josiah [the] king of Judah.
Om Egypten, angående den egyptiske konungen Farao Nekos här, som stod invid floden Frat, vid Karkemis, och som blev slagen av Nebukadressar, konungen i Babel, i Jojakims, Josias sons, Juda konungs, fjärde regeringsår.
3 Set in order shield and body shield and draw near for battle.
Reden till sköld och skärm, och rycken fram till strid.
4 Harness the horses and mount the warhorses and take your stand with helmets polish the spears put on the armor.
Spännen för hästarna och bestigen springarna, och ställen upp eder, med hjälmarna på. Gören spjuten blanka, ikläden eder pansaren.
5 Why? have I seen they [will be] terrified [they will be] turned back backwards and warriors their they will be crushed and flight they will flee and not they will turn back terror [will be] from round about [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Men varav kommer detta som jag nu ser? De äro förfärade. De vika tillbaka; deras hjältar bliva slagna. De taga till flykten utan att vända sig om. Skräck från alla sidor! säger HERREN.
6 May not he flee the swift [one] and may not he escape the warrior north-ward on [the] side of [the] river of Euphrates they will stumble and they will fall.
Ej ens den snabbaste kan fly undan, ej ens hjälten kan rädda sig. Norrut, invid floden Frat, där stappla de och falla.
7 Who? [is] this [who] like the River he rises like rivers they surge waters his.
Vem är denne som stiger upp såsom Nilfloden, denne vilkens vatten svalla såsom strömmar?
8 Egypt like the River it rises and like rivers they surge waters and it has said I will rise I will cover [the] earth I will destroy a city and [the] inhabitants in it.
Det är Egypten som stiger upp såsom Nilfloden, och såsom strömmar svalla hans vatten. Han säger: »Jag vill stiga upp och övertäcka landet; jag vill fördärva städerna och dem som bo därinne.»
9 Go up O horses and drive madly O chariotry so they may go forth the warriors Cush and Put [who] wield a shield and Ludites [who] wield [those who] bend a bow.
Ja, dragen ditupp, I hästar; stormen fram, I vagnar. Må hjältarna tåga fram, etiopier och putéer, rustade med sköldar, och ludéer, rustade med bågar, bågar som de spänna.
10 And the day that [belongs] to [the] Lord Yahweh of hosts a day of vengeance to avenge himself from opponents his and it will devour [the] sword and it will be satisfied and it will take its fill from blood their for a sacrifice of [the] Lord Yahweh of hosts [will be] in [the] land of [the] north to [the] river of Euphrates.
Ty detta är Herrens; HERREN Sebaots, dag, en hämndedag, då han skall hämnas på sina motståndare; nu skall svärdet frossa sig mätt och dricka sig rusigt av deras blod. Ty ett slaktoffer vill Herren, HERREN Sebaot, anställa i nordlandet vid floden Frat.
11 Go up Gilead and acquire balm O virgin of [the] daughter of Egypt for vanity (you have multiplied *QK) remedies [is] healing there not for you.
Drag upp till Gilead och hämta balsam, du jungfru dotter Egypten. Men förgäves skaffar du dig läkemedel i mängd; du kan icke bliva helad.
12 They will hear nations shame your and outcry your it will be full the earth for warrior over warrior they will stumble together they will fall both of them.
Folken få höra om din skam, och av dina klagorop bliver jorden full; ty den ene hjälten stapplar på den andre, och de falla båda tillsammans.
13 The word which he spoke Yahweh to Jeremiah the prophet of [the] coming of Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon to strike [the] land of Egypt.
Detta är det ord som HERREN talade till profeten Jeremia om att Nebukadressar, konungen i Babel, skulle komma och slå Egyptens land:
14 Declare in Egypt and make a proclamation in Migdol and make a proclamation in Memphis and in Tahpanhes say take your stand and prepare yourself for it will devour [the] sword around you.
Förkunnen i Egypten och kungören i Migdol, ja, kungören i Nof, så ock i Tapanhes, och sägen: »Träd fram och gör dig redo, ty svärdet frossar runt omkring dig.»
15 Why? will he be prostrated mighty [ones] your not he will stand for Yahweh he will push him.
Varför äro dina väldige slagna till marken? De kunde ej hålla stånd, ty HERREN stötte dem bort.
16 He will multiply [one who] stumbles also he will fall each to neighbor his and they said arise! - so let us return to people our and to [the] land of kindred our because of [the] sword of the oppressor.
Han kom många att stappla, och så föllo de, den ene över den andre; de ropade: »Upp, låt oss vända tillbaka till vårt folk och till vårt fädernesland, undan det härjande svärdet.»
17 People will call out there Pharaoh [the] king of Egypt [is] a noise he has let pass by the appointed time.
Ja, man ropar där: »Farao är förlorad, Egyptens konung! Han har förfelat sin tid.»
18 [by] [the] life Of me [the] utterance of the king [is] Yahweh of hosts name his that like Tabor among the mountains and like Carmel at the sea he will come.
Så sant jag lever, säger konungen, han vilkens namn är HERREN Sebaot, en skall komma, väldig såsom Tabor ibland bergen, såsom Karmel vid havet.
19 Baggage of exile make for yourself O inhabitant[s] [the] daughter of Egypt for Memphis a waste it will become and it will be made desolate from not inhabitant.
Så reden nu till åt eder, I dottern Egyptens inbyggare, vad man behöver, när man skall gå i landsflykt. Ty Nof skall bliva en ödemark och varda uppbränt, så att ingen kan bo där.
20 [is] a heifer Beautifully beautiful Egypt a gadfly from [the] north [is] about to come [is] about to come.
En skön kviga är Egypten; men en broms kommer farande norrifrån.
21 Also hired soldiers its in midst its [are] like calves of [the] stall for also they they will turn they will flee together not they will stand their ground for [the] day of disaster their it will come on them [the] time of punishment their.
Också de legoknektar hon har i sitt land, lika gödda kalvar, ja, också de vända då om och fly allasammans, de kunna icke hålla stånd. Ty deras ofärds dag har kommit över dem, deras hemsökelses tid.
22 Sound its [is] like snake [which] it goes for with an army they will come and with axes they will come to it like cutters of wood.
Tyst smyger hon undan såsom en krälande orm, ty med härsmakt draga de fram, och med yxor komma de över henne, såsom gällde det att hugga ved.
23 They will cut down forest its [the] utterance of Yahweh that not it will be searched for they will be many more than locust[s] and not [belonged] to them number.
De fälla hennes skog, säger HERREN, ty ogenomtränglig är den; talrikare äro de än gräshoppor, ja, de kunna ej räknas.
24 It will be put to shame [the] daughter of Egypt it will be given in [the] hand of [the] people of [the] north.
På skam kommer dottern Egypten; hon bliver given i nordlandsfolkets hand.
25 He says Yahweh of hosts [the] God of Israel here I [am] about to visit [judgment] to Amon from Thebes and on Pharaoh and on Egypt and on gods its and on kings its and on Pharaoh and on the [ones who] trust in him.
Så säger HERREN Sebaot, Israels Gud: Se, jag skall hemsöka Amon från No, så ock Farao och Egypten med dess gudar och dess konungar, ja, både Farao och dem som förlita sig på honom.
26 And I will give them in [the] hand of [those who] seek life their and in [the] hand of Nebuchadnezzar [the] king of Babylon and in [the] hand of servants his and after thus it will settle like days of antiquity [the] utterance of Yahweh.
Och jag skall giva dem i de mans hand, som stå efter deras liv, i Nebukadressars, den babyloniske konungens, och i hans tjänares hand. Men därefter skall landet bliva bebott såsom i forna dagar, säger HERREN.
27 And you may not you fear O servant my Jacob and may not you be dismayed O Israel for here I [am] about to save you from a distant [land] and offspring your from [the] land of captivity their and he will return Jacob and he will be undisturbed and he will be at ease and there not [will be one who] terrifies.
Så frukta då icke, du min tjänare Jakob, och var ej förfärad, du Israel; ty se, jag skall frälsa dig ur det avlägsna landet, och dina barn ur deras fångenskaps land. Och Jakob skall få komma tillbaka och leva i ro och säkerhet, och ingen skall förskräcka honom.
28 You may not you fear O servant my Jacob [the] utterance of Yahweh that [am] with you I that I will make complete destruction on all the nations - where I have driven away you there towards and you not I will make complete destruction and I will discipline you to justice and certainly not I will leave unpunished you.
Ja, frukta icke, du min tjänare Jakob, säger HERREN, ty jag är med dig. Och jag skall göra ände på alla de folk till vilka jag har drivit dig bort; men på dig vill jag ej alldeles göra ände, jag vill blott tukta dig med måtta; ty alldeles ostraffad kan jag ju ej låta dig bliva.
