Hosea 7

1 When heal I Israel and it is revealed [the] iniquity of Ephraim and [the] evil deeds of Samaria for they do falsehood and a thief he comes it attacks a marauding band in the street.

Lorsque je voulais guérir Israël, L’iniquité d’Éphraïm et la méchanceté de Samarie se sont révélées, Car ils ont agi frauduleusement; Le voleur est arrivé, la bande s’est répandue au dehors.

2 And not they say to heart their all evil their I remember now they have surrounded them deeds their before face my they are.

Ils ne se disent pas dans leur cœur Que je me souviens de toute leur méchanceté; Maintenant leurs œuvres les entourent, Elles sont devant ma face.

3 By evil their they make glad [the] king and by lies their princes.

Ils réjouissent le roi par leur méchanceté, Et les chefs par leurs mensonges.

4 All of them [are] adulterers like an oven burning from a baker [who] he ceases stirring up from kneading [the] dough until is leavened it.

Ils sont tous adultères, Semblables à un four chauffé par le boulanger: Il cesse d’attiser le feu Depuis qu’il a pétri la pâte jusqu’à ce qu’elle soit levée.

5 [the] day of King our they became sick princes fever from wine he stretched out hand his with scorners.

Au jour de notre roi, Les chefs se rendent malades par les excès du vin; Le roi tend la main aux moqueurs.

6 For they have brought near like oven heart their in ambush their all the night [is] sleeping baker their morning it [is] burning like a fire of flame.

Ils appliquent aux embûches leur cœur pareil à un four; Toute la nuit dort leur boulanger, Et au matin le four brûle comme un feu embrasé.

7 All of them they are hot like oven and they devour rulers their all kings their they have fallen there not [is one who] calls among them to me.

Ils sont tous ardents comme un four, Et ils dévorent leurs juges; Tous leurs rois tombent: Aucun d’eux ne m’invoque.

8 Ephraim among the peoples he he mixes himself Ephraim he has become a bread cake not turned over.

Éphraïm se mêle avec les peuples, Éphraïm est un gâteau qui n’a pas été retourné.

9 They have consumed strangers strength his and he not he knows also gray hair it has sneaked in on him and he not he knows.

Des étrangers consument sa force, Et il ne s’en doute pas; La vieillesse s’empare de lui, Et il ne s’en doute pas.

10 And it testifies [the] pride of Israel in face its and not they have returned to Yahweh God their and not they have sought him for all this.

L’orgueil d’Israël témoigne contre lui; Ils ne reviennent pas à l’Éternel, leur Dieu, Et ils ne le cherchent pas, malgré tout cela.

11 And he has become Ephraim like a dove silly there not [is] heart Egypt they have called Assyria they have gone.

Éphraïm est comme une colombe stupide, sans intelligence; Ils implorent l’Égypte, ils vont en Assyrie.

12 Just when they will go I will spread over them net my like [the] bird[s] of the heavens I will bring down them I will chasten them according to a report to assembly their.

S’ils partent, j’étendrai sur eux mon filet, Je les précipiterai comme les oiseaux du ciel; Je les châtierai, comme ils en ont été avertis dans leur assemblée.

13 Woe! to them for they have fled from me devastation [belongs] to them for they have transgressed against me and I I will redeem them and they they have spoken on me lies.

Malheur à eux, parce qu’ils me fuient! Ruine sur eux, parce qu’ils me sont infidèles! Je voudrais les sauver, Mais ils disent contre moi des paroles mensongères.

14 And not they have cried out to me with heart their if they wail on beds their on grain and new wine they assemble themselves they turn aside against me.

Ils ne crient pas vers moi dans leur cœur, Mais ils se lamentent sur leur couche; Ils se rassemblent pour avoir du blé et du moût, Et ils s’éloignent de moi.

15 And I I instructed [them] I strengthened arms their and against me they plot evil.

Je les ai châtiés, j’ai fortifié leurs bras; Et ils méditent le mal contre moi.

16 They turn - not height they have become like a bow of slackness they will fall by the sword leaders their from [the] indignation of tongue their this [will be] mockery their in [the] land of Egypt.

Ce n’est pas au Très-Haut qu’ils retournent; Ils sont comme un arc trompeur. Leurs chefs tomberont par l’épée, A cause de l’insolence de leur langue. C’est ce qui les rendra un objet de risée dans le pays d’Égypte.
