Deuteronomy 8

1 All the commandment which I [am] commanding you this day you will take care! to observe so that you may live! and you will increase and you will go and you will take possession of the land which he swore Yahweh to ancestors your.

Vous observerez et vous mettrez en pratique tous les commandements que je vous prescris aujourd’hui, afin que vous viviez, que vous multipliiez, et que vous entriez en possession du pays que l’Éternel a juré de donner à vos pères.

2 And you will remember all the way which he led you Yahweh God your this forty year[s] in the wilderness so as to humble you to put to [the] test you to know [that] which [was] in heart your ¿ will you keep (commandments his *QK) or? not.

Souviens-toi de tout le chemin que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, t’a fait faire pendant ces quarante années dans le désert, afin de t’humilier et de t’éprouver, pour savoir quelles étaient les dispositions de ton cœur et si tu garderais ou non ses commandements.

3 And he humbled you and he caused to hunger you and he caused to eat you the manna which not you had known and not they had known! ancestors your so as to make know you that not on the bread by only it he lives humankind for on every utterance of [the] mouth of Yahweh he lives humankind.

Il t’a humilié, il t’a fait souffrir de la faim, et il t’a nourri de la manne, que tu ne connaissais pas et que n’avaient pas connue tes pères, afin de t’apprendre que l’homme ne vit pas de pain seulement, mais que l’homme vit de tout ce qui sort de la bouche de l’Éternel.

4 Clothing your not it wore out from on you and foot your not it swelled this forty year[s].

Ton vêtement ne s’est point usé sur toi, et ton pied ne s’est point enflé, pendant ces quarante années.

5 And you will know with heart your that just as he disciplines everyone child his Yahweh God your [is] disciplining you.

Reconnais en ton cœur que l’Éternel, ton Dieu, te châtie comme un homme châtie son enfant.

6 And you will keep [the] commandments of Yahweh God your by walking in ways his and by fearing him.

Tu observeras les commandements de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, pour marcher dans ses voies et pour le craindre.

7 For Yahweh God your [will] bring you into a land good a land of torrents of water springs and deeps [which] go forth in the valley and on the mountain.

Car l’Éternel, ton Dieu, va te faire entrer dans un bon pays, pays de cours d’eaux, de sources et de lacs, qui jaillissent dans les vallées et dans les montagnes;

8 A land of wheat and barley and vine and fig tree and pomegranate a land of olive tree of oil and honey.

pays de froment, d’orge, de vignes, de figuiers et de grenadiers; pays d’oliviers et de miel;

9 A land which not in scarcity you will eat in it food not you will lack anything in it a land which stones its [are] iron and from hills its you will dig copper.

pays où tu mangeras du pain avec abondance, où tu ne manqueras de rien; pays dont les pierres sont du fer, et des montagnes duquel tu tailleras l’airain.

10 And you will eat and you will be satisfied and you will bless Yahweh God your on the land good which he has given to you.

Lorsque tu mangeras et te rassasieras, tu béniras l’Éternel, ton Dieu, pour le bon pays qu’il t’a donné.

11 Take heed to yourself lest you should forget Yahweh God your to not to keep commandments his and judgments his and statutes his which I [am] commanding you this day.

Garde-toi d’oublier l’Éternel, ton Dieu, au point de ne pas observer ses commandements, ses ordonnances et ses lois, que je te prescris aujourd’hui.

12 Lest you should eat and you will be satisfied and houses good you will build and you will dwell.

Lorsque tu mangeras et te rassasieras, lorsque tu bâtiras et habiteras de belles maisons,

13 And herd your and flock your they will increase! and silver and gold it will increase of you and all that [belongs] to you it will increase.

lorsque tu verras multiplier ton gros et ton menu bétail, s’augmenter ton argent et ton or, et s’accroître tout ce qui est à toi,

14 And it will be lifted up heart your and you will forget Yahweh God your who brought out you from [the] land of Egypt from a house of slaves.

prends garde que ton cœur ne s’enfle, et que tu n’oublies l’Éternel, ton Dieu, qui t’a fait sortir du pays d’Égypte, de la maison de servitude,

15 Who led you in the wilderness - great and awesome snake - fiery and scorpion and thirsty ground where there not [was] water who brought forth for you water from [the] rock of flint.

qui t’a fait marcher dans ce grand et affreux désert, où il y a des serpents brûlants et des scorpions, dans des lieux arides et sans eau, et qui a fait jaillir pour toi de l’eau du rocher le plus dur,

16 Who caused to eat you manna in the wilderness which not they had known! ancestors your so as to humble you and so as to put to [the] test you to do good to you in end your.

qui t’a fait manger dans le désert la manne inconnue à tes pères, afin de t’humilier et de t’éprouver, pour te faire ensuite du bien.

17 And you will say in heart your strength my and [the] might of hand my it has acquired for me the wealth this.

Garde-toi de dire en ton cœur: Ma force et la puissance de ma main m’ont acquis ces richesses.

18 And you will remember Yahweh God your that he [is] the [one who] gives to you strength to acquire wealth so as to carry out covenant his which he swore to ancestors your as the day this.

Souviens-toi de l’Éternel, ton Dieu, car c’est lui qui te donnera de la force pour les acquérir, afin de confirmer, comme il le fait aujourd’hui, son alliance qu’il a jurée à tes pères.

19 And it will be certainly [if] you will forget Yahweh God your and you will walk after gods other and you will serve them and you will bow down to them I testify against you this day that certainly you will perish!

Si tu oublies l’Éternel, ton Dieu, et que tu ailles après d’autres dieux, si tu les sers et te prosternes devant eux, je vous déclare formellement aujourd’hui que vous périrez.

20 Like the nations which Yahweh [is] about to destroy from before you so you will perish! consequence not you will listen! to [the] voice of Yahweh God your.

Vous périrez comme les nations que l’Éternel fait périr devant vous, parce que vous n’aurez point écouté la voix de l’Éternel, votre Dieu.
