Amos 1
1 [the] words of Amos who he was among the sheep-tenders from Tekoa which he saw on Israel in [the] days of - Uzziah [the] king of Judah and in [the] days of Jeroboam [the] son of Joash [the] king of Israel two years before the earthquake.
Paroles d’Amos, l’un des bergers de Tekoa, visions qu’il eut sur Israël, au temps d’Ozias, roi de Juda, et au temps de Jéroboam, fils de Joas, roi d’Israël, deux ans avant le tremblement de terre.
2 And he said - Yahweh from Zion he will roar and from Jerusalem he will give forth voice his and they will dry up [the] pastures of the shepherds and it will wither [the] top of Carmel.
Il dit: De Sion l’Éternel rugit, De Jérusalem il fait entendre sa voix. Les pâturages des bergers sont dans le deuil, Et le sommet du Carmel est desséché.
3 Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Damascus and on four not I will revoke it because threshed they with [the] threshing sledges of iron Gilead.
Ainsi parle l’Éternel: A cause de trois crimes de Damas, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu’ils ont foulé Galaad sous des traîneaux de fer.
4 And I will send forth a fire on [the] house of Hazael and it will consume [the] fortresses of Ben Hadad.
J’enverrai le feu dans la maison de Hazaël, Et il dévorera les palais de Ben-Hadad.
5 And I will break [the] bar of Damascus and I will cut off inhabitant[s] from [the] Valley of Aven and a holder of a scepter from Beth Eden and they will go into exile [the] people of Aram Kir towards he says Yahweh.
Je briserai les verrous de Damas, J’exterminerai de Bikath-Aven les habitants, Et de Beth-Éden celui qui tient le sceptre; Et le peuple de Syrie sera mené captif à Kir, dit l’Éternel.
6 Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Gaza and on four not I will revoke it because carried away into exile they exile complete to deliver up [them] to Edom.
Ainsi parle l’Éternel: A cause de trois crimes de Gaza, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu’ils ont fait une foule de captifs pour les livrer à Édom.
7 And I will send forth a fire on [the] wall of Gaza and it will consume fortresses its.
J’enverrai le feu dans les murs de Gaza, Et il en dévorera les palais.
8 And I will cut off inhabitant[s] from Ashdod and a holder of a scepter from Ashkelon and I will turn hand my on Ekron and they will perish [the] remnant of [the] Philistines he says [the] Lord Yahweh.
J’exterminerai d’Asdod les habitants, Et d’Askalon celui qui tient le sceptre; Je tournerai ma main contre Ékron, Et le reste des Philistins périra, dit le Seigneur, l’Éternel.
9 Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Tyre and on four not I will revoke it because delivered up they exile complete to Edom and not they remembered [the] covenant of brothers.
Ainsi parle l’Éternel: A cause de trois crimes de Tyr, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu’ils ont livré à Édom une foule de captifs, Sans se souvenir de l’alliance fraternelle.
10 And I will send forth a fire on [the] wall of Tyre and it will consume fortresses its.
J’enverrai le feu dans les murs de Tyr, Et il en dévorera les palais.
11 Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of Edom and on four not I will revoke it because pursued he with the sword brother his and he spoiled compassion his and it tore for ever anger his and fury his he kept it perpetuity.
Ainsi parle l’Éternel: A cause de trois crimes d’Édom, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu’il a poursuivi ses frères avec l’épée, En étouffant sa compassion, Parce que sa colère déchire toujours, Et qu’il garde éternellement sa fureur.
12 And I will send forth a fire on Teman and it will consume [the] fortresses of Bozrah.
J’enverrai le feu dans Théman, Et il dévorera les palais de Botsra.
13 Thus he says Yahweh on three transgressions of [the] people of Ammon and on four not I will revoke it because ripped open they [the] pregnant [women] of Gilead so as to enlarge territory their.
Ainsi parle l’Éternel: A cause de trois crimes des enfants d’Ammon, Même de quatre, je ne révoque pas mon arrêt, Parce qu’ils ont fendu le ventre des femmes enceintes de Galaad, Afin d’agrandir leur territoire.
14 And I will kindle a fire on [the] wall of Rabbah and it will consume fortresses its with a shout of alarm on [the] day of battle with a storm on [the] day of a storm-wind
J’allumerai le feu dans les murs de Rabba, Et il en dévorera les palais, Au milieu des cris de guerre au jour du combat, Au milieu de l’ouragan au jour de la tempête;
15 and he will go king their in exile he and officials his together he says Yahweh.
Et leur roi s’en ira en captivité, Lui, et ses chefs avec lui, dit l’Éternel.
