2 Samuel 19
1 And it was told to Joab here! the king [is] weeping and he mourned on Absalom.
On vint dire à Joab: Voici, le roi pleure et se lamente à cause d’Absalom.
2 And it became the deliverance on the day that mourning for all the people for it heard the people on the day that saying he is grieved the king on son his.
Et la victoire, ce jour-là, fut changée en deuil pour tout le peuple, car en ce jour le peuple entendait dire: Le roi est affligé à cause de son fils.
3 And it acted stealthily the people on the day that to enter the city just as it acts stealthily people who are ashamed when flee they in battle.
Ce même jour, le peuple rentra dans la ville à la dérobée, comme l’auraient fait des gens honteux d’avoir pris la fuite dans le combat.
4 And the king he covered face his and he cried out the king a voice great O son my Absalom Absalom son my son my.
Le roi s’était couvert le visage, et il criait à haute voix: Mon fils Absalom! Absalom, mon fils, mon fils!
5 And he went Joab to the king the house and he said you have put to shame this day [the] faces of all servants your who rescued life your this day and [the] life of sons your and daughters your and [the] life of wives your and [the] life of concubines your.
Joab entra dans la chambre où était le roi, et dit: Tu couvres aujourd’hui de confusion la face de tous tes serviteurs, qui ont aujourd’hui sauvé ta vie, celle de tes fils et de tes filles, celle de tes femmes et de tes concubines.
6 By loving [those who] hate you and by hating [those who] love you that - you have made known this day that not [are] to you commanders and servants that - I know this day that (if *QK) Absalom [were] alive and all of us this day [were] dead that then [it would be] right in eyes your.
Tu aimes ceux qui te haïssent et tu hais ceux qui t’aiment, car tu montres aujourd’hui qu’il n’y a pour toi ni chefs ni serviteurs; et je vois maintenant que, si Absalom vivait et que nous fussions tous morts en ce jour, cela serait agréable à tes yeux.
7 And therefore arise go out and speak to [the] heart of servants your for by Yahweh I swear that not you [are] coming out if he will lodge a man with you this night and it will be bad for you this more than all the harm which it has come on you since youth your until now.
Lève-toi donc, sors, et parle au cœur de tes serviteurs! Car je jure par l’Éternel que, si tu ne sors pas, il ne restera pas un homme avec toi cette nuit; et ce sera pour toi pire que tous les malheurs qui te sont arrivés depuis ta jeunesse jusqu’à présent.
8 And he arose the king and he sat in the gate and to all the people people told saying here! the king [is] sitting in the gate and it came all the people before the king and Israel it had fled each to tents his.
Alors le roi se leva, et il s’assit à la porte. On fit dire à tout le peuple: Voici, le roi est assis à la porte. Et tout le peuple vint devant le roi. Cependant Israël s’était enfui, chacun dans sa tente.
9 And it was all the people quarrelling in all [the] tribes of Israel saying the king he delivered us - from [the] hand of enemies our and he he rescued us from [the] hand of [the] Philistines and now he has fled from the land from with Absalom.
Et dans toutes les tribus d’Israël, tout le peuple était en contestation, disant: Le roi nous a délivrés de la main de nos ennemis, c’est lui qui nous a sauvés de la main des Philistins; et maintenant il a dû fuir du pays devant Absalom.
10 And Absalom whom we anointed over us he has died in the battle and therefore why? [are] you keeping silent to bring back the king.
Or Absalom, que nous avions oint pour qu’il régnât sur nous, est mort dans la bataille: pourquoi ne parlez-vous pas de faire revenir le roi?
11 And the king David he sent to Zadok and to Abiathar the priests saying speak to [the] elders of Judah saying why? will you be [the] last [people] to bring back the king to house his and [the] word of all Israel it had come to the king to house his.
De son côté, le roi David envoya dire aux sacrificateurs Tsadok et Abiathar: Parlez aux anciens de Juda, et dites-leur: Pourquoi seriez-vous les derniers à ramener le roi dans sa maison? Car ce qui se disait dans tout Israël était parvenu jusqu’au roi.
12 [are] brothers My you [are] bone my and flesh my you and why? will you be [the] last [people] to bring back the king.
Vous êtes mes frères, vous êtes mes os et ma chair; pourquoi seriez-vous les derniers à ramener le roi?
13 And to Amasa you will say ¿ not bone my and flesh my [are] you thus may he do to me God and thus may he add if not commander of [the] army you will be before me all the days in place of Joab.
Vous direz aussi à Amasa: N’es-tu pas mon os et ma chair? Que Dieu me traite dans toute sa rigueur, si tu ne deviens pas devant moi pour toujours chef de l’armée à la place de Joab!
14 And he turned [the] heart of every man of Judah like a man one and they sent to the king return you and all servants your.
David fléchit le cœur de tous ceux de Juda, comme s’ils n’eussent été qu’un seul homme; et ils envoyèrent dire au roi: Reviens, toi, et tous tes serviteurs.
15 And he returned the king and he came to the Jordan and Judah it came Gilgal towards to go to meet the king to bring over the king the Jordan.
Le roi revint et arriva jusqu’au Jourdain; et Juda se rendit à Guilgal, afin d’aller à la rencontre du roi et de lui faire passer le Jourdain.
16 And he hurried Shimei [the] son of Gera [the] Ben-jaminite who [was] from Bahurim and he came down with [the] man of Judah to meet the king David.
Schimeï, fils de Guéra, Benjamite, qui était de Bachurim, se hâta de descendre avec ceux de Juda à la rencontre du roi David.
17 And one thousand man [were] with him of Benjamin and Ziba [the] servant of [the] house of Saul and five teen sons his and twenty servants his [were] with him and they rushed ahead the Jordan before the king.
Il avait avec lui mille hommes de Benjamin, et Tsiba, serviteur de la maison de Saül, et les quinze fils et les vingt serviteurs de Tsiba. Ils passèrent le Jourdain à la vue du roi.
18 And it passed over the ford to bring over [the] household of the king and to do the good (in eyes his *QK) and Shimei [the] son of Gera he fell before the king when passed he in the Jordan.
Le bateau, mis à la disposition du roi, faisait la traversée pour transporter sa maison; et au moment où le roi allait passer le Jourdain, Schimeï, fils de Guéra, se prosterna devant lui.
19 And he said to the king may not he reckon to me lord my guilt and may not you remember [that] which he did perversely servant your on the day when he went out lord my the king from Jerusalem to put [it] the king to heart his.
Et il dit au roi: Que mon seigneur ne tienne pas compte de mon iniquité, qu’il oublie que ton serviteur l’a offensé le jour où le roi mon seigneur sortait de Jérusalem, et que le roi n’y ait point égard!
20 For he knows servant your that I I have sinned and here! I have come this day first of all [the] house of Joseph to come down to meet lord my the king.
Car ton serviteur reconnaît qu’il a péché. Et voici, je viens aujourd’hui le premier de toute la maison de Joseph à la rencontre du roi mon seigneur.
21 And he answered Abishai [the] son of Zeruiah and he said ¿ in place of this not will he be put to death Shimei for he cursed [the] [one] anointed of Yahweh.
Alors Abischaï, fils de Tseruja, prit la parole et dit: Schimeï ne doit-il pas mourir pour avoir maudit l’oint de l’Éternel?
22 And he said David what? [is] to me and to you O sons of Zeruiah that you will become to me this day an adversary this day will he be put to death? anyone in Israel for ¿ not do I know that this day I [am] king over Israel.
Mais David dit: Qu’ai-je affaire avec vous, fils de Tseruja, et pourquoi vous montrez-vous aujourd’hui mes adversaires? Aujourd’hui ferait-on mourir un homme en Israël? Ne sais-je donc pas que je règne aujourd’hui sur Israël?
23 And he said the king to Shimei not you will die and he swore an oath to him the king.
Et le roi dit à Schimeï: Tu ne mourras point! Et le roi le lui jura.
24 And Mephibosheth [the] son of Saul he went down to meet the king and not he had done feet his and not he had done moustache his and clothes his not he had washed from the day went the king until the day when he came in peace.
Mephiboscheth, fils de Saül, descendit aussi à la rencontre du roi. Il n’avait point soigné ses pieds, ni fait sa barbe, ni lavé ses vêtements, depuis le jour où le roi s’en était allé jusqu’à celui où il revenait en paix.
25 And it was that he came Jerusalem to meet the king and he said to him the king why? not did you go with me O Mephibosheth.
Lorsqu’il se rendit au-devant du roi à Jérusalem, le roi lui dit: Pourquoi n’es-tu pas venu avec moi, Mephiboscheth?
26 And he said O lord my the king servant my he betrayed me for he said servant your let me saddle for myself the donkey so I may ride on it so I may go with the king for [is] lame servant your.
Et il répondit: O roi mon seigneur, mon serviteur m’a trompé, car ton serviteur, qui est boiteux, avait dit: Je ferai seller mon âne, je le monterai, et j’irai avec le roi.
27 And he has slandered servant your to lord my the king and lord my the king [is] like [the] angel of God and do the good in eyes your.
Et il a calomnié ton serviteur auprès de mon seigneur le roi. Mais mon seigneur le roi est comme un ange de Dieu. Fais ce qui te semblera bon.
28 For not it was all [the] house of father my that except men of death to lord my the king and you put servant your among [those who] eat table your and what? [is] there for me still righteousness and to cry out still to the king.
Car tous ceux de la maison de mon père n’ont été que des gens dignes de mort devant le roi mon seigneur; et cependant tu as mis ton serviteur au nombre de ceux qui mangent à ta table. Quel droit puis-je encore avoir, et qu’ai-je à demander au roi?
29 And he said to him the king why? are you speaking still words your I say you and Ziba you will divide the field.
Le roi lui dit: A quoi bon toutes tes paroles? Je l’ai déclaré: Toi et Tsiba, vous partagerez les terres.
30 And he said Mephibosheth to the king also everything let him take after that he has come lord my the king in peace to house his.
Et Mephiboscheth dit au roi: Qu’il prenne même le tout, puisque le roi mon seigneur rentre en paix dans sa maison.
31 And Barzillai the Gileadite he had come down from Rogelim and he passed over with the king the Jordan to send off him (the Jordan. *QK)
Barzillaï, le Galaadite, descendit de Roguelim, et passa le Jourdain avec le roi, pour l’accompagner jusqu’au-delà du Jourdain.
32 And Barzillai he was old very a son of eighty year[s] and he he had supplied the king in dwelling his in Mahanaim for [was] a man great he very.
Barzillaï était très vieux, âgé de quatre-vingts ans. Il avait entretenu le roi pendant son séjour à Mahanaïm, car c’était un homme fort riche.
33 And he said the king to Barzillai you pass over with me and I will supply you with me in Jerusalem.
Le roi dit à Barzillaï: Viens avec moi, je te nourrirai chez moi à Jérusalem.
34 And he said Barzillai to the king how many? [are] [the] days of [the] years of life my that I will go up with the king Jerusalem.
Mais Barzillaï répondit au roi: Combien d’années vivrai-je encore, pour que je monte avec le roi à Jérusalem?
35 [am] a son of Eighty year[s] I this day ¿ do I know - between good and evil or? will he taste servant your [that] which I will eat and [that] which I will drink or? will I hear still [the] voice of [male] singers and female singers and why? will he become servant your still a burden to lord my the king.
Je suis aujourd’hui âgé de quatre-vingts ans. Puis-je connaître ce qui est bon et ce qui est mauvais? Ton serviteur peut-il savourer ce qu’il mange et ce qu’il boit? Puis-je encore entendre la voix des chanteurs et des chanteuses? Et pourquoi ton serviteur serait-il encore à charge à mon seigneur le roi?
36 Like a little he will pass over servant your the Jordan with the king and why? will he reward me the king the reward this.
Ton serviteur ira un peu au-delà du Jourdain avec le roi. Pourquoi, d’ailleurs, le roi m’accorderait-il ce bienfait?
37 Let him return please servant your so I may die in own city my near [the] grave of father my and mother my and here! - servant your Kimham let him pass over with lord my the king and do for him [that] which it is good in eyes your.
Que ton serviteur s’en retourne, et que je meure dans ma ville, près du sépulcre de mon père et de ma mère! Mais voici ton serviteur Kimham, qui passera avec le roi mon seigneur; fais pour lui ce que tu trouveras bon.
38 And he said the king with me he will pass over Kimham and I I will do for him the good in eyes your and all that you will choose on me I will do for you.
Le roi dit: Que Kimham passe avec moi, et je ferai pour lui ce qui te plaira; tout ce que tu désireras de moi, je te l’accorderai.
39 And it passed over all the people the Jordan and the king he passed over and he kissed the king Barzillai and he blessed him and he returned to own place his.
Quand tout le peuple eut passé le Jourdain et que le roi l’eut aussi passé, le roi baisa Barzillaï et le bénit. Et Barzillaï retourna dans sa demeure.
40 And he passed over the king Gilgal towards and Kimhan he passed over with him and all [the] people of Judah (they brought over *QK) the king and also half of [the] people of Israel.
Le roi se dirigea vers Guilgal, et Kimham l’accompagna. Tout le peuple de Juda et la moitié du peuple d’Israël avaient fait passer le Jourdain au roi.
41 And there! every man of Israel [were] coming to the king and they said to the king why? did they steal you brothers our [the] man of Judah and they brought over the king and household his the Jordan and all [the] men of David with him.
Mais voici, tous les hommes d’Israël abordèrent le roi, et lui dirent: Pourquoi nos frères, les hommes de Juda, t’ont-ils enlevé, et ont-ils fait passer le Jourdain au roi, à sa maison, et à tous les gens de David?
42 And he answered every man of Judah to [the] man of Israel for [is] close the king to me and why? this has it burned to you on the matter this ¿ really have we eaten from the king or? really has it been taken away by us.
Tous les hommes de Juda répondirent aux hommes d’Israël: C’est que le roi nous tient de plus près; et qu’y a-t-il là pour vous irriter? Avons-nous vécu aux dépens du roi? Nous a-t-il fait des présents?
43 And he answered [the] man of Israel [the] man of Judah and he said ten hands [belong] to me in the king and also in David I more than you and why? did you treat with contempt me and not was it word my first of me to bring back king my and it was hard [the] word of [the] man of Judah more than [the] word of [the] man of Israel.
Et les hommes d’Israël répondirent aux hommes de Juda: Le roi nous appartient dix fois autant, et David même plus qu’à vous. Pourquoi nous avez-vous méprisés? N’avons-nous pas été les premiers à proposer de faire revenir notre roi? Et les hommes de Juda parlèrent avec plus de violence que les hommes d’Israël.
