2 Chronicles 29
1 Hezekiah he became king a son of twenty and five year[s] and twenty and nine year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Abijah [the] daughter of Zechariah.
Ézéchias devint roi à l’âge de vingt-cinq ans, et il régna vingt-neuf ans à Jérusalem. Sa mère s’appelait Abija, fille de Zacharie.
2 And he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh according to all that he had done David ancestor his.
Il fit ce qui est droit aux yeux de l’Éternel, entièrement comme avait fait David, son père.
3 He in the year first of reigning his in the month first he opened [the] doors of [the] house of Yahweh and he repaired them.
La première année de son règne, au premier mois, il ouvrit les portes de la maison de l’Éternel, et il les répara.
4 And he brought the priests and the Levites and he gathered them to [the] open place of the east.
Il fit venir les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, qu’il assembla dans la place orientale,
5 And he said to them listen to me O Levites now consecrate yourselves and consecrate [the] house of Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your and bring out the impurity from the holy place.
et il leur dit: Écoutez-moi, Lévites! Maintenant sanctifiez-vous, sanctifiez la maison de l’Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères, et mettez ce qui est impur hors du sanctuaire.
6 For they acted unfaithfully fathers our and they did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh God our and they forsook him and they turned faces their away from [the] tabernacle of Yahweh and they gave a back.
Car nos pères ont péché, ils ont fait ce qui est mal aux yeux de l’Éternel, notre Dieu, ils l’ont abandonné, ils ont détourné leurs regards du tabernacle de l’Éternel et lui ont tourné le dos.
7 Also they shut [the] doors of the porch and they extinguished the lamps and incense not they made smoke and burnt offering[s] not they offered up in the holy place to [the] God of Israel.
Ils ont même fermé les portes du portique et éteint les lampes, et ils n’ont offert au Dieu d’Israël ni parfums ni holocaustes dans le sanctuaire.
8 And it was [the] wrath of Yahweh towards Judah and Jerusalem and he has made them (into a terror *QK) into a horror and into a hissing just as you [are] seeing with own eyes your.
Aussi la colère de l’Éternel a été sur Juda et sur Jérusalem, et il les a livrés au trouble, à la désolation et à la moquerie, comme vous le voyez de vos yeux.
9 And there! they have fallen fathers our by the sword and sons our and daughters our and wives our [are] in captivity on this.
Et voici, à cause de cela nos pères sont tombés par l’épée, et nos fils, nos filles et nos femmes sont en captivité.
10 Now [is] with heart my to make a covenant to Yahweh [the] God of Israel and it may turn back from us [the] burning of anger his.
J’ai donc l’intention de faire alliance avec l’Éternel, le Dieu d’Israël, pour que son ardente colère se détourne de nous.
11 O sons my now may not you be negligent for you he has chosen Yahweh to stand before him to serve him and to be of him servants and makers of smoke.
Maintenant, mes fils, cessez d’être négligents; car vous avez été choisis par l’Éternel pour vous tenir à son service devant lui, pour être ses serviteurs, et pour lui offrir des parfums.
12 And they arose the Levites Mahath [the] son of Amasai and Joel [the] son of Azariah of [the] descendants of the Kohathite[s] and of [the] descendants of Merari Kish [the] son of Abdi and Azariah [the] son of Jehallelel and of the Gershonite[s] Joah [the] son of Zimmah and Eden [the] son of Joah.
Et les Lévites se levèrent: Machath, fils d’Amasaï, Joël, fils d’Azaria, des fils des Kehathites; et des fils des Merarites, Kis, fils d’Abdi, Azaria, fils de Jehalléleel; et des Guerschonites, Joach, fils de Zimma, Éden, fils de Joach;
13 And of [the] descendants of Elizaphan Shimri (and Jeiel *QK) and of [the] descendants of Asaph Zechariah and Mattaniah.
et des fils d’Élitsaphan, Schimri et Jeïel; et des fils d’Asaph, Zacharie et Matthania;
14 And of [the] descendants of Heman (Jehiel *QK) and Shimei. And of [the] descendants of Jeduthun Shemaiah and Uzziel.
et des fils d’Héman, Jehiel et Schimeï; et des fils de Jeduthun, Schemaeja et Uzziel.
15 And they gathered relatives their and they consecrated themselves and they went according to [the] command of the king by [the] words of Yahweh to cleanse [the] house of Yahweh.
Ils réunirent leurs frères, et, après s’être sanctifiés, ils vinrent pour purifier la maison de l’Éternel, selon l’ordre du roi et d’après les paroles de l’Éternel.
16 And they went the priests to within [the] house of Yahweh to cleanse [it] and they brought out all the uncleanness which they found in [the] temple of Yahweh to [the] court of [the] house of Yahweh and they received [it] the Levites to bring [it] out to [the] wadi of Kidron [the] outside towards.
Les sacrificateurs entrèrent dans l’intérieur de la maison de l’Éternel pour la purifier; ils sortirent toutes les impuretés qu’ils trouvèrent dans le temple de l’Éternel et les mirent dans le parvis de la maison de l’Éternel, où les Lévites les reçurent pour les emporter dehors au torrent de Cédron.
17 And they began on [day] one of the month first to consecrate and on day eight of the month they came to [the] porch of Yahweh and they consecrated [the] house of Yahweh for days eight and on day six-teen of the month first they finished.
Ils commencèrent ces purifications le premier jour du premier mois; le huitième jour du mois, ils entrèrent dans le portique de l’Éternel, et ils mirent huit jours à purifier la maison de l’Éternel; le seizième jour du premier mois, ils avaient achevé.
18 And they went within to Hezekiah the king and they said we have cleansed all [the] house of Yahweh [the] altar of the burnt offering and all utensils its and [the] table of the row and all utensils its.
Ils se rendirent ensuite chez le roi Ézéchias, et dirent: Nous avons purifié toute la maison de l’Éternel, l’autel des holocaustes et tous ses ustensiles, et la table des pains de proposition et tous ses ustensiles.
19 And all the utensils which he had rejected the king Ahaz in reign his in unfaithfulness his we have prepared and we have consecrated and there they [are] before [the] altar of Yahweh.
Nous avons remis en état et purifié tous les ustensiles que le roi Achaz avait profanés pendant son règne, lors de ses transgressions: ils sont devant l’autel de l’Éternel.
20 And he rose early Hezekiah the king and he gathered [the] officials of the city and he went up [the] house of Yahweh.
Le roi Ézéchias se leva de bon matin, assembla les chefs de la ville, et monta à la maison de l’Éternel.
21 And they brought young bulls seven and rams seven and lambs seven and he-goats of goats seven to a sin offering on the kingdom and on the sanctuary and on Judah and he said to [the] descendants of Aaron the priests to offer up on [the] altar of Yahweh.
Ils offrirent sept taureaux, sept béliers, sept agneaux et sept boucs, en sacrifice d’expiation pour le royaume, pour le sanctuaire, et pour Juda. Le roi ordonna aux sacrificateurs, fils d’Aaron, de les offrir sur l’autel de l’Éternel.
22 And they slaughtered the cattle and they took the priests the blood and they sprinkled [it] the altar towards and they slaughtered the rams and they sprinkled the blood the altar towards and they slaughtered the lambs and they sprinkled the blood the altar towards.
Les sacrificateurs égorgèrent les bœufs, et reçurent le sang, qu’ils répandirent sur l’autel; ils égorgèrent les béliers, et répandirent le sang sur l’autel; ils égorgèrent les agneaux, et répandirent le sang sur l’autel.
23 And they brought near [the] goats of the sin offering before the king and the assembly and they laid hands their on them.
On amena ensuite les boucs expiatoires devant le roi et devant l’assemblée, qui posèrent leurs mains sur eux.
24 And they slaughtered them the priests and they made a sin offering blood their the altar towards to make atonement on all Israel for for all Israel he had said the king the burnt offering and the sin offering.
Les sacrificateurs les égorgèrent, et répandirent leur sang au pied de l’autel en expiation pour les péchés de tout Israël; car c’était pour tout Israël que le roi avait ordonné l’holocauste et le sacrifice d’expiation.
25 And he stationed the Levites [the] house of Yahweh with cymbals with lyres and with harps by [the] command of David and Gad [the] seer of the king and Nathan the prophet for [was] by [the] hand of Yahweh the commandment by [the] hand of prophets his.
Il fit placer les Lévites dans la maison de l’Éternel avec des cymbales, des luths et des harpes, selon l’ordre de David, de Gad le voyant du roi, et de Nathan, le prophète; car c’était un ordre de l’Éternel, transmis par ses prophètes.
26 And they stood the Levites with [the] instruments of David and the priests with trumpets.
Les Lévites prirent place avec les instruments de David, et les sacrificateurs avec les trompettes.
27 And he said Hezekiah to offer up the burnt offering to the altar and at [the] time [when] it began the burnt offering it began [the] song of Yahweh and the trumpets and on [the] hands of [the] instruments of David [the] king of Israel.
Ézéchias ordonna d’offrir l’holocauste sur l’autel; et au moment où commença l’holocauste, commença aussi le chant de l’Éternel, au son des trompettes et avec accompagnement des instruments de David, roi d’Israël.
28 And all the assembly [were] bowing down and the song [was] singing and the trumpets ([were] blowing a trumpet *Qk) everything until was complete the burnt offering.
Toute l’assemblée se prosterna, on chanta le cantique, et l’on sonna des trompettes, le tout jusqu’à ce que l’holocauste fût achevé.
29 And just as finished to offer up they bowed down the king and all those [who] were found with him and they bowed down.
Et quand on eut achevé d’offrir l’holocauste, le roi et tous ceux qui étaient avec lui fléchirent le genou et se prosternèrent.
30 And he said Hezekiah the king and the officials to the Levites to praise Yahweh with [the] words of David and Asaph the seer and they praised to to joy and they bowed low and they bowed down.
Puis le roi Ézéchias et les chefs dirent aux Lévites de célébrer l’Éternel avec les paroles de David et du prophète Asaph; et ils le célébrèrent avec des transports de joie, et ils s’inclinèrent et se prosternèrent.
31 And he answered Hezekiah and he said now you have filled hand your to Yahweh draw near and bring sacrifices and thank-offerings to [the] house of Yahweh and they brought the assembly sacrifices and thank-offerings and every [person] willing of heart burnt offerings.
Ézéchias prit alors la parole, et dit: Maintenant que vous vous êtes consacrés à l’Éternel, approchez-vous, amenez des victimes et offrez en sacrifices d’actions de grâces à la maison de l’Éternel. Et l’assemblée amena des victimes et offrit des sacrifices d’actions de grâces, et tous ceux dont le cœur était bien disposé offrirent des holocaustes.
32 And it was [the] number of the burnt offering[s] which they brought the assembly cattle seventy rams one hundred lambs two hundred [were] for a burnt offering to Yahweh all these.
Le nombre des holocaustes offerts par l’assemblée fut de soixante-dix bœufs, cent béliers, et deux cents agneaux; toutes ces victimes furent immolées en holocauste à l’Éternel.
33 And the holy offerings [were] cattle six hundred and sheep three thousand.
Et l’on consacra encore six cents bœufs et trois mille brebis.
34 Only the priests they were to fewness and not they were able to skin all the burnt offerings and they helped them relatives their the Levites until was complete the work and until they had consecrated themselves the priests for the Levites [were] upright of heart to consecrate themselves more than the priests.
Mais les sacrificateurs étaient en petit nombre, et ils ne purent dépouiller tous les holocaustes; leurs frères, les Lévites, les aidèrent jusqu’à ce que l’ouvrage fût fini, et jusqu’à ce que les autres sacrificateurs se fussent sanctifiés, car les Lévites avaient eu plus à cœur de se sanctifier que les sacrificateurs.
35 And also burnt offering[s] to abundance with [the] fat of the peace offerings and with the drink offerings of the burnt offering and it was arranged [the] service of [the] house of Yahweh.
Il y avait d’ailleurs beaucoup d’holocaustes, avec les graisses des sacrifices d’actions de grâces, et avec les libations des holocaustes. Ainsi fut rétabli le service de la maison de l’Éternel.
36 And he rejoiced Hezekiah and all the people on what he had prepared God for the people for in suddenness it had happened the thing.
Ézéchias et tout le peuple se réjouirent de ce que Dieu avait bien disposé le peuple, car la chose se fit subitement.
