Joshua 13

1 Now, Joshua, was old, advanced in days, —so then Yahweh said unto him—Thou, art old, advanced in days, and, much the larger part of the land, remaineth to be possessed.

Kun Joosua oli käynyt vanhaksi ja iäkkääksi, sanoi Herra hänelle: "Sinä olet käynyt vanhaksi ja iäkkääksi, mutta vielä on hyvin paljon maata valtaamatta.

2 This, is the land that remaineth, —all the regions of the Philistines, and all the Geshuri;

3 from the Shihor which faceth Egypt, even as far as the boundary of Ekron, northward, to the Canaanites, is it counted, —five princes of Philistines, the Gazites, and the Ashdodites, the Ashkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites, also the Avvim

Siihorista alkaen, joka on itään päin Egyptistä, aina Ekronin alueeseen saakka pohjoiseen päin-se luetaan kanaanilaisten alueeseen-ne viisi filistealaista ruhtinasta, nimittäin Gassan, Asdodin, Askelonin, Gatin ja Ekronin ruhtinaat, niin myöskin avvilaiset

4 on the south: all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah which belongeth to the Zidonians, as far as Aphek, —as far as the boundary of the Amorites;

etelässä päin; koko kanaanilaisten maa ja Meara, joka on siidonilaisten, Afekiin saakka, amorilaisten alueeseen saakka;

5 and the land of the Gebalites, and all the Lebanon, to the rising of the sun, from Baal-gad, under Mount Hermon, —as far as the entering in of Hamath:

ja gebalilaisten maa ja koko Libanon, auringonnousun puolella, Hermonin vuoren juurella olevasta Baal-Gaadista siihen saakka, mistä mennään Hamatiin.

6 all the inhabitants of the hill country, from the Lebanon as far as Misrephoth-maim—all the Zidonians, I myself, will dispossess them from before the sons of Israel, —nevertheless, assign thou it by lot unto Israel, for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

Kaikki vuoriston asukkaat Libanonista Misrefot-Majimiin saakka, kaikki siidonilaiset, minä karkoitan israelilaisten tieltä; arvo vain niiden maa Israelin kesken perintöosaksi, niinkuin minä olen sinulle käskyn antanut.

7 Now, therefore, apportion this land as an inheritance, unto the nine tribes, —and the half tribe of Manasseh.

Jaa siis tämä maa perintöosana yhdeksälle sukukunnalle ja toiselle puolelle Manassen sukukuntaa."

8 With them, the, Reubenites and the Gadites, received their inheritance, —which Moses gave them beyond the Jordan, eastward, as Moses the servant of Yahweh gave unto them:

Samalla kuin sen toinen puoli olivat näet myöskin ruubenilaiset ja gaadilaiset saaneet perintöosansa, jonka Mooses antoi heille tuolta puolelta Jordanin, idän puolelta, niinkuin Herran palvelija Mooses sen heille antoi,

9 from Aroer, which is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon, and the city, which is in the midst of the ravine, and all the table-land of Medeba, as far as Dibon;

maan Arnon-joen rannalla olevasta Aroerista ja jokilaakson keskikohdalla olevasta kaupungista alkaen ja koko Meedeban ylätasangon Diiboniin saakka;

10 and all the cities of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, —as far as the boundary of the sons of Ammon;

ja kaikki Siihonin, amorilaisten kuninkaan, kaupungit, hänen, joka hallitsi Hesbonissa, aina ammonilaisten alueeseen saakka,

11 and Gilead, and the boundary of the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and all Mount Hermon, and all Bashan, as far as Salecah;

ja Gileadin sekä gesurilaisten ja maakatilaisten alueet ja koko Hermonin vuoren ja koko Baasanin Salkaan saakka,

12 all the kingdom of Og, in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, —he, being left of the remnant of the giants; and Moses smote them and dispossessed them;

koko Oogin valtakunnan Baasanissa, hänen, joka hallitsi Astarotissa ja Edreissä ja oli viimeisiä refalaisia; nämä Mooses voitti ja karkoitti.

13 the sons of Israel, however, did not dispossess, the Geshurites or the Maacathites, —but Geshur and Maacath have remained in the midst of Israel until this day.

Mutta israelilaiset eivät karkoittaneet gesurilaisia ja maakatilaisia, vaan gesurilaiset ja maakatilaiset jäivät asumaan Israelin keskeen aina tähän päivään asti.

14 Howbeit, unto the tribe of Levi, gave he no inheritance, —the altar-flames of Yahweh God of Israel, are his inheritance, as he spake unto him.

Ainoastaan Leevin sukukunnalle hän ei antanut perintöosaa. Herran, Israelin Jumalan, uhrit ovat sen perintöosa, niinkuin hän on sille puhunut.

15 Thus then Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the tribe of the sons of Reuben by their families;

Mooses antoi ruubenilaisten sukukunnalle, heidän suvuilleen, maata:

16 and their boundary was from Aroer, that is on the edge of the ravine of Arnon and the city which is in the midst of the ravine and all the table-land by Medeba;

heille tuli alue Arnon-joen rannalla olevasta Aroerista ja jokilaakson keskikohdalla olevasta kaupungista alkaen ja koko ylätasanko Meedeban luona;

17 Heshbon and all her cities which are on the table-land, —Dibon and Bamoth-baal, and Beth-baal-meon;

18 and Jahaz and Kedemoth and Maphaath;

19 and Kiriathaim and Sibmah, and Zareth-shahar on the mount of the vale;

Kirjataim, Sibma, Seret-Sahar Laaksovuorella,

20 and Beth-peor, and the slopes of Pisgah, and Beth-jeshimoth;

21 and all the cities of the table-land, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon, —whom Moses smote—with the princes of Midian, Evi and Rekem and Zur and Hur and Reba, dukes of Sihon dwelling in the land;

22 Balaam also son of Beor, the diviner, did the sons of Israel slay with the sword among their slain.

23 And so the boundary of the sons of Reuben was the Jordan and district. This, is the inheritance of the sons of Reuben by their families, the cities and the villages thereof.

Ruubenilaisten raja on Jordan; se on rajana. Tämä on ruubenilaisten, heidän sukujensa, perintöosa, kaupungit kylineen.

24 And Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the tribe of Gad, unto the sons of Gad by their families;

Mooses antoi Gaadin sukukunnalle, gaadilaisille, heidän suvuilleen, maata:

25 and their boundary was—Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the sons of Ammon, —as far as Aroer, which faceth Rabbah;

heidän alueekseen tuli Jaeser, ja kaikki Gileadin kaupungit ja puolet ammonilaisten maata Aroeriin asti, joka on itään päin Rabbasta,

26 and from Heshbon as far as Ramath-mizpeh, and Botonim, —and from Mahanaim as far as the boundary of Debir;

ja maa Hesbonista Raamat-Mispeen ja Betonimiin saakka, ja Mahanaimista Lidebirin alueeseen saakka;

27 and in the valley—Beth-haram and Beth-nimrah and Succoth and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, the Jordan and district, —as far as the end of the sea of Chinnereth, beyond the Jordan eastward.

ja laaksossa: Beet-Raam, Beet-Nimra, Sukkot ja Saafon, loput Siihonin, Hesbonin kuninkaan, valtakunnasta, rajana Jordan Kinneretin järven päähän saakka, tuolla puolella Jordanin, idän puolella.

28 This, is the inheritance of the sons of Gad, by their families, —the cities and the villages thereof.

Tämä on gaadilaisten, heidän sukujensa, perintöosa, kaupungit kylineen.

29 And Moses gave [an inheritance] unto the half tribe of Manasseh, —so it belonged to the half tribe of the sons of Manasseh by their families;

Mooses antoi toiselle puolelle Manassen sukukuntaa maata, ja se tuli toiselle puolelle Manassen sukukuntaa, heidän suvuilleen:

30 and their boundary was—from Mahanaim all Bashan all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan and all the Encampments of Jair which are in Bashan three-score cities;

heidän alueekseen tuli Mahanaimista alkaen koko Baasan, Oogin, Baasanin kuninkaan, koko valtakunta, kaikki Jaairin leirikylät Baasanissa, kuusikymmentä kaupunkia,

31 and, half Gilead and Ashtaroth and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, pertained to the sons of Machir son of Manasseh, to half the sons of Machir by their families.

ja puolet Gileadia sekä Astarot ja Edrei, Oogin valtakunnan pääkaupungit Baasanissa; tämä tuli Maakirin, Manassen pojan, jälkeläisille, toiselle puolelle Maakirin jälkeläisiä, heidän suvuilleen.

32 These, are [the portions] which Moses gave for inheritance, in the waste plains of Moab, —over the Jordan by Jericho eastward.

Nämä ovat ne alueet, jotka Mooses jakoi perintöosiksi Mooabin arolla, tuolla puolella Jordanin, Jerikon kohdalla, idän puolella.

33 But, unto the tribe of Levi, Moses gave no inheritance, —Yahweh God of Israel, he, was their inheritance, as he spake unto them.

Mutta Leevin sukukunnalle Mooses ei antanut perintöosaa. Herra, Israelin Jumala, on heidän perintöosansa, niinkuin hän on heille puhunut.
