Jeremiah 1
1 The words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, —of the priests who were in Anathoth, in the land of Benjamin:
१बन्यामीन प्रांतातील अनाथोथ येथल्या याजकांपैकी हिल्कीयाचा पुत्र यिर्मया ह्याची वचने:
2 unto whom came the word of Yahweh, in the days of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah, —in the thirteenth year of his reign;
२म्हणजे यहूदाचा राजा आमोन ह्याचा मुलगा योशीया ह्याच्या कारकिर्दीच्या तेराव्या वर्षात परमेश्वराचे वचन यीर्मयाकडे आले.
3 it came also in the days of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, —as far as the carrying away of Jerusalem captive, in the fifth month.
३तसेच यहूदाचा राजा योशीया ह्याचा मुलगा यहोयाकीम ह्याच्या कारकिर्दीच्या दिवसात, आणि यहूदाचा राजा योशीयाचा मुलगा सिद्कीया ह्याच्या कारकिर्दीच्या अकराव्या वर्षाच्या समाप्तीपर्यंत, पाचव्या महिन्यात, जेव्हा यरूशलेमधील लोकांस पाडाव करून नेले तोपर्यंत ते त्याच्याकडे आले.
4 So then, the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
४परमेश्वराचे वचन माझ्याजवळ आले,
5 Before I formed thee at thy birth, I took knowledge of thee, And before thy nativity, I hallowed thee, —A prophet to the nations, I appointed thee.
५“मी तुला आईच्या उदरात घडवण्यापूर्वीच, मी तुला निवडले आहे, आणि तू गर्भातून निघण्याआधीच मी तुला पवित्र केले आहे. मी तुला राष्ट्रांचा संदेष्टा असे केले आहे.”
6 Then said I—Ah! My Lord Yahweh! Lo! I know not how to speak, —For a child, am I!
६मी म्हणालो, “अहा! परमेश्वर देवा, मी कसे बोलावे हे मला माहीत नाही, कारण मी फार लहान आहे.”
7 Then said Yahweh unto me, Do not say, A child, am, I,—For against whomsoever I send thee, shalt thou go, And whatsoever I command thee, shalt thou speak:
७पण परमेश्वर मला म्हणाला, “मी लहान बालक आहे असे म्हणू नकोस. मी तुला पाठवीन तेथे सगळीकडे तुला गेलेच पाहिजे, आणि जे काही मी तुला आज्ञापीन ते तू बोलशील.
8 Be not afraid of their faces, For with thee, am I, to deliver thee Declareth Yahweh.
८त्यांना तू घाबरु नकोस, कारण तुला सोडवायला मी तुझ्या सोबत आहे. असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.”
9 Then Yahweh put forth his hand, and touched my mouth, —and Yahweh said unto me, Lo! I have put my words in thy mouth.
९मग परमेश्वराने हात लांब करून माझ्या तोंडाला स्पर्श करून म्हणाला, “आता, मी माझी वचने तुझ्या मुखात घातली आहेत.
10 See! I have set thee in charge this day, over the nations and over the kingdoms, To uproot and to break down, and to destroy and to tear in pieces, —To build and to plant.
१०खाली ओढण्यासाठी, फाडून टाकण्यासाठी, नष्ट करून टाकण्यासाठी, आणि उलथून टाकण्यासाठी, उभारणी करण्यासाठी आणि नवीन लागवड करण्यासाठी, आजपासून मी राष्ट्रे आणि राज्ये तुझ्या ताब्यात देत आहे.”
11 Moreover the Word of Yahweh came unto me saying, What canst thou see Jeremiah? And I said, A twig of an almond-tree, can I see.
११परमेश्वराचे वचन मजकडे आले, “यिर्मया, तुला काय दिसते?” मी म्हणालो, “मला बदामाच्या झाडाची एक शाखा दिसते.”
12 Then said Yahweh unto me—Thou hast rightly seen, —for keeping watch, am I over my word to perform it.
१२परमेश्वर मला म्हणाला, “तुला उत्तम दिसत आहे. कारण मी माझे वचन साधण्यास लक्ष ठेवत आहे.”
13 And the word of Yahweh came unto me a second time saying, What canst thou see? And I said, A boiling caldron, can I see, with, the front thereof, on the North.
१३मग दुसऱ्यांदा परमेश्वराचे वचन माझ्याकडे आले आणि म्हणाले, “तुला काय दिसते?” मी म्हणालो, “मला एक उकळती कढई दिसत आहे, जिचे तोंड उत्तरेकडून फिरले आहे.”
14 Then said Yahweh unto me, —Out of the North, shall break forth calamity, against all the inhabitants of the land.
१४परमेश्वर मला म्हणाला, “देशातील राहणाऱ्या सर्वांवर उत्तरेकडून आपत्तीचा वर्षाव होईल,
15 For behold me! calling for all the families of the kingdoms of the North, Declareth Yahweh, —and they shall come, and set every one his throne at the opening of the gates of Jerusalem and against all her walls round about, and against all the cities of Judah!
१५कारण परमेश्वर म्हणतो, मी उत्तरेकडील राज्यातील सर्व कुळांना बोलावीन आणि ते येतील, ते प्रत्येक आपापले राजासन यरूशलेमेच्या वेशींच्या प्रवेशाजवळ आणि सभोवती त्याच्या सर्व कोटांच्या समोर व यहूदाच्या सर्व नगरांच्या समोर स्थापन करतील.
16 Then will I pronounce my judgments against them, concerning all their wickedness, —in that they have forsaken me and have burned incense unto other gods, and have bowed down to the works of their own hands,
१६आणि मी त्यांच्याविरुद्ध माझा निर्णय घोषित करीन, कारण त्यांनी मला सोडून इतर देवतांपुढे धूप जाळला, आणि आपल्या हातांच्या कामांची पूजा केली, या त्यांच्या दुष्टाईबद्दल मी त्यांच्याविरुद्ध शिक्षा सांगेन.
17 Thou, therefore, shalt gird thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them, all that, I, command thee, —be not dismayed because of them, lest I dismay thee before their face.
१७यास्तव, तू स्वत: ला तयार कर, उभा राहा आणि जे काही मी तुला आज्ञापीन ते त्यांना सांग, त्यांना घाबरु नकोस, जर तू त्यांना घाबरलास, तर मी तुला त्यांच्यासमोर भयभीत करेन.
18 I, therefore—lo! I have set thee to-day as a fortified city, and as a pillar of iron and as walls of bronze, over all the land, —against the kings of Judah, against her princes, against her priests and against the people of the land.
१८पाहा, आज मी तुला मजबूत शहर व लोखंडी खांबाप्रमाणे आणि कांस्याच्या भिंतीप्रमाणे केले आहे, ह्यासाठी की तू या भूमीवरच्या सर्वांविरूद्ध यहूदाच्या राजांविरुध्द, त्याच्या अधीकाऱ्यांविरुध्द, तेथील याजकांविरूद्ध आणि लोकांविरूद्ध समर्थपणे उभे रहावे.
19 And they will fight against thee but shall not prevail against thee, —for with thee, am I, Declareth Yahweh, to deliver thee.
१९ते सर्व लोक तुझ्याविरूद्ध लढतील, पण ते तुझा पराभव करणार नाहीत, कारण तुला सोडवायला मी तुझ्याबरोबर आहे, परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो.”
