Jeremiah 49
1 Of the sons of Ammon-Thus saith Yahweh: Hath Israel no, sons? Hath he no, heir? Why hath, Malkam, taken possession of Gad, Or have, his people, in the cities thereof, made their dwelling?
Sobre os filhos de Amom. Assim diz o SENHOR: Por acaso Israel não tem filhos, nem tem herdeiro? Por que, pois, Malcã tomou posse de Gade, e seu povo habitou em suas cidades?
2 Therefore, lo! days are coming, Declareth Yahweh When I will cause to be heard against Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, an alarm of war, So shall she become a mound of desolation, And, her villages, with fire, shall blaze, —Then shall Israel, inherit them who inherited him, Saith Yahweh.
Portanto eis que vêm dias, diz o SENHOR, em que farei ouvir em Rabá dos filhos de Amom clamor de guerra; e se tornará em um amontoado de ruínas, e suas vilas serão queimadas a fogo; e Israel tomará posse daqueles que tinham lhes tomado, disse o SENHOR.
3 Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled Make outcry, ye daughters of Rabbah, Gird you with sackcloth, Lament ye and run to and fro among the fences, —For, Malkam, into captivity, shall go, His priests and his princes, together.
Uiva, ó Hesbom, porque Ai é destruída; clamai, ó filhas de Rabá, vesti-vos de sacos, lamentai, e rodeai pelas cercas, porque Malcã irá em cativeiro, seus sacerdotes e juntamente seus príncipes.
4 Why shouldst thou glory in the vales, The flowing of thy vale O apostate daughter? She who is trusting in her treasures, [saying, ] Who shall invade, me?
Por que te orgulhas dos vales? Teu vale se desfez, ó filha rebelde, que confia em seus tesouros, [dizendo]: Quem virá contra mim?
5 Behold me! bringing upon thee, terror Declareth My Lord, Yahweh of hosts, From all who are round about thee, —And ye shall be driven out every man before it, And there shall be none to bring home the wanderer;
Eis que trago medo sobre ti, diz o Senhor o SENHOR dos exércitos, de todos os que estão ao redor de ti; e sereis forçados a fugir, cada um por si, e não haverá quem consiga reunir os que andam sem rumo.
6 But afterwards, will I bring back the captivity of the sons of Ammon, Declareth Yahweh.
Mas depois disso restaurarei os filhos de Amom de seu infortúnio, diz o SENHOR.
7 Of Edom—Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Hath counsel perished from the discerning? Is their wisdom corrupt?
Sobre Edom. Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Por acaso não há mais sabedoria em Temã? Pereceu o conselho dos prudentes? Estragou-se sua sabedoria?
8 Flee ye turn go down deep to dwell, O inhabitant of Dedan, —For the doom of Esau, have I brought in upon him The time of his visitation.
Fugi, voltai-vos, escondei-vos em profundezas para habitar, ó moradores de Dedã; porque trarei sobre ele a calamidade de Esaú no tempo [em que] eu o punir.
9 If, grape-gatherers, came to thee, Would they not leave, gleanings? If, thieves in the night, Would they not have taken away what sufficed them?
Se recolhedores de uva viessem contra ti, por acaso não deixarão sobras? Se ladrões de noite [viessem] não te danificariam [apenas] o que achassem suficiente?
10 But, I, have stripped Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, And to conceal himself, shall he not be able! Spoiled, are his seed, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not.
Mas eu despirei a Esaú, descobrirei seus esconderijos, e não poderá se esconder; será destruída sua descendência, e também seus irmãos e seus vizinhos; e deixará de existir.
11 Leave thy fatherless children I, will preserve them alive, —And thy widows, In me, let them trust.
Deixa teus órfãos, eu os criarei; e em mim confiarão tuas viúvas.
12 For, thus saith Yahweh—Lo! they who had not been adjudged to drink the cup, shall surely drink, And art thou, the one to go unpunished? Thou shalt not go unpunished, but shalt surely drink.
Pois assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que os que não estavam condenados a beberem do cálice, certamente o beberão; e ficarias tu impune por completo? Não ficarás impune, e certamente beberás.
13 For by myself, have I sworn, Declareth Yahweh, That, Bozrah shall become, an astonishment: a reproach and a desolation, and a contempt, —And all her cities shall become age-abiding desolations.
Pois jurei por mim mesmo, diz o SENHOR, que Bozra se tornará em espanto, humilhação, deserto e maldição; e todas as suas cidades se tornarão desolações perpétuas.
14 A report, have I heard from Yahweh, Yea, an envoy, throughout the nations, hath been sent, —Gather yourselves together and come against her, And arise to the battle.
Ouvi uma notícia do SENHOR que um mensageiro foi às nações, [para dizer]: Juntai-vos, e vinde contra ela, e levantai-vos para a guerra.
15 For lo! Small, have I made thee among the nations, —Despised among men!
Porque eis te fiz pequeno entre as nações, desprezado entre os homens.
16 Thy monstrous thing, hath deceived thee, The insolence of thy heart, O thou that inhabitest the hidden recesses of the cliff, That holdest fast the height of the hill, —Though thou set high as an eagle, thy nest, From thence, will I bring thee down, Declareth Yahweh;
O terror que tu causas te enganou, assim como a arrogância de teu coração; tu que habitas nas cavernas das rochas, que tens a altura dos montes; ainda que levantes teu ninho como a águia, de lá eu te derrubarei, diz o SENHOR.
17 So shall, Edom, become an astonishment, —Every one passing by her, will be astonished and hiss, over all her plagues:
Assim Edom servirá de espanto; todo aquele que passar por ela se espantará, e assoviará por causa de todas as suas pragas.
18 Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and her neighbours, Saith Yahweh, —There shall not dwell there—a man, Nor sojourn therein—any son of the earth-born.
Tal como a destruição de Sodoma e de Gomorra, e de suas cidades vizinhas, diz o SENHOR, ninguém habitará ali, nem filho de homem morará nela.
19 Lo! like a lion, will he come up from the majesty of the Jordan, unto the pasture perennial, But I will wink—I will make him run away therefrom, Who then shall be the Chosen One whom over it, I may set in charge? For who shall be like unto, me? And who shall appoint me, a time? And who is the Shepherd that shall stand before, me?
Eis que será como o leão que sobe da mata do Jordão contra a morada do forte; porque repentinamente o farei correr dela, e ordenarei contra ela a quem eu escolher; pois quem é semelhante a mim? E quem manda em mim? E quem é o pastor que pode subsistir diante de mim?
20 Wherefore, hear ye The counsel of Yahweh which he hath counseled against Edom, And his devices which he hath devised against the inhabitants of Teman, —Surely the little ones of the flock shall drag them away, Surely he will cause their fold to be astounded over them.
Portanto ouvi o conselho do SENHOR, que ele determinou sobre Edom; e seus pensamentos, que decidiu sobre os moradores de Temã: Certamente os menores do rebanho os arrastarão, e destruirão suas moradas com eles.
21 At the noise of their fall, hath trembled the earth, At the outcry, in the Red Sea, was heard its noise.
A terra treme do estrondo da queda deles; e o grito de sua voz foi ouvida até no mar Vermelho.
22 Lo! as an eagle, he shall mount and dart, and spread his wings over Bozrah, —So shall the heart of the heroes of Edom, in that day, become as the heart of a woman in her pain.
Eis que como águia subirá e voará, e estenderá suas asas sobre Bozra; e o coração dos guerreiros de Edom será naquele dia como o coração de mulher em dores de parto.
23 Of Damascus. Turned pale have Hamath and Arpad, For, a calamitous report, have they heard—they tremble, —In the sea, is anxiety, it cannot, rest.
Sobre Damasco. Envergonharam-se Hamate e Arpade, porque ouviram más notícias; derreteram-se em mar de angústia, não podem se sossegar.
24 Enfeebled is Damascus She hath turned to flee But terror, hath seized her, —Anguish and pangs, have seized her as a woman in childbirth.
Enfraquecida está Damasco; virou-se para fugir, e foi tomada de medo; angústia e dores a tomaram, como de mulher que está de parto.
25 Alas! is she not forsaken—The city so praised! The citadel I rejoiced in!
Como não foi abandonada a famosa cidade, a cidade de minha alegria?
26 Therefore shall her young men fall in her broadways, —And, all her men of war, shall be silent in that day, Declareth Yahweh of hosts;
Por isso seus rapazes cairão em suas ruas, e todos os homens de guerra serão mortos naquele dia, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos.
27 Then will I kindle a fire in the walls of Damascus, —And it shall devour the palaces of Ben-hadad.
E acenderei fogo no muro de Damasco, que consumirá as casas de Ben-Hadade.
28 Of Kedar. And of the kingdoms of Hazor Which Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon smote—Thus, saith Yahweh, —Arise ye go up against Kedar, So shall they spoil the sons of the East:
Sobre Quedar e dos reinos de Hazor, os quais Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, feriu. Assim diz o SENHOR: Levantai-vos, subi contra Quedar, e destruí os filhos de oriente.
29 Their tents and their flocks, shall they take, And their curtains and all their baggage and their camels, shall they carry off for themselves, —And shall cry out unto them, Terror round about!
Tomarão suas tendas e seu gados; suas cortinas, e todos os seus vasos; e seus camelos, levarão para si; e lhes gritarão: O medo está ao redor.
30 Flee remove far away, go deep to dwell, Ye inhabitants of Hazor, Urgeth Yahweh; For Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon—hath counseled against you, a counsel, And devised against you a device.
Fugi, afastai-vos para muito longe, buscai profundezas para habitar, ó moradores de Hazor, diz o SENHOR; porque Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, tomou conselho contra vós, e pensou um plano contra vós.
31 Arise ye, go up against a nation at ease—dwelling securely, Commandeth Yahweh, —Having neither doors nor bars, Alone, do they dwell:
Levantai-vos, subi contra uma nação tranquila, que habita em segurança, diz o SENHOR, que nem têm portas nem ferrolhos, que vivem sozinhos.
32 So shall their camels, become, a prey, And the throng of their cattle, a spoil, Then will I scatter them to every wind even the clipt-beards, —And from all sides of him, will I bring in their doom Declareth Yahweh.
E seus serão camelos para presa, e a multidão de seus gados para despojo; e os espalharei por todos os lados, até os cantos mais distantes; e por todos os lados lhes trarei sua ruína, diz o SENHOR.
33 So shall Hazor become A habitation of jackals An astonishment unto times age-abiding: There shall not dwell there—a man, Nor sojourn therein—a son of the earth-born.
E Hazor se tornará uma morada de chacais, desolada para sempre; ninguém habitará ali, nem filho de homem morará nela.
34 So much of the word of Yahweh as came unto Jeremiah the prophet, Against Elam, —in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah saying: —
Palavra do SENHOR que veio ao profeta Jeremias, sobre Elão, no princípio do reinado de Zedequias rei de Judá, dizendo:
35 Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Behold me! breaking the bow of Elam, —The beginning of their might;
Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Eis que quebrarei o arco de Elão, o principal de seu poder.
36 Then will I bring in against Elam four winds from the four quarters of the heavens, And will scatter them to all these winds, —And there shall be no nation whither the outcasts of Elam, shall not come;
E trarei sobre Elão os quatro ventos dos quatro cantos do céu, e os espalharei por todos estes ventos; não haverá nação para onde não venham exilados de Elão.
37 And I will cause Elam to be dismayed Before their enemies Even before them who are seeking their life, So will I bring upon them calamity, Even the glow of mine anger Declareth Yahweh, —And will send after them the sword, until I have made an end of them;
E farei com que Elão tenha medo diante de seus inimigos, e diante dos que buscam [tirar] sua vida; e trarei o mal sobre eles, o furor de minha ira, diz o SENHOR; e mandarei a espada atrás deles, até que os acabe por completo.
38 And I will set my throne in Elam, —And will destroy, from thence king and princes, Declareth Yahweh;
E porei meu trono em Elão, e destruirei dali o rei e os príncipes, diz o SENHOR.
39 But it shall come to pass In the afterpart of the days, That I will bring back the captivity of Elam, Declareth Yahweh.
Mas será nos últimos dias, que restaurarei Elão de seu infortúnio, diz o SENHOR.
