2 Chronicles 7

1 Now, when Solomon had made an end of praying, Fire, came down out of the heavens, and consumed the ascending-offering and the sacrifices, —and, the glory of Yahweh, filled the house;

Och då Salomo utbedit hade, föll en eld af himmelen, och förtärde bränneoffret och annat offer; och Herrans härlighet uppfyllde huset;

2 so that the priests could not enter into the house of Yahweh, —because the glory of Yahweh filled the house of Yahweh;

Så att Presterna icke kunde ingå uti Herrans hus, så länge Herrans härlighet uppfyllde Herrans hus.

3 and, all the sons of Israel, seeing the descending of the fire and the glory of Yahweh upon the house, then knelt they down with their faces toward the ground, upon the pavement, and bowed themselves in prostration, and gave thanks unto Yahweh, For he is good, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness.

Och sågo all Israels barn elden falla neder, och Herrans härlighet öfver huset, och föllo ned med ansigtet till jordena på golfvet, och tillbådo, och tackade Herranom, att han är god, och hans barmhertighet varar till evig tid.

4 And, the king and all the people, were offering sacrifice before Yahweh.

Men Konungen och allt folket offrade för Herranom.

5 And King Solomon offered a sacrifice—of oxen, twenty-two thousand, and of sheep, a hundred and twenty thousand, —and so the king and all the people, dedicated the house of God;

Ty Konung Salomo offrade tu och tjugu tusend nöt, och hundrade och tjugu tusend får; och vigde så Guds hus, både Konungen och allt folket.

6 while, the priests, over their charges, were standing, the Levites also, with the instruments for the songs of Yahweh, which David the king had made, for giving thanks unto Yahweh, For, age-abiding, is his lovingkindness, when David offered praise by their means, —and, the priests, kept on blowing trumpets over against them, while, all Israel, were standing.

Men Presterna stodo i sine vakt, ock Leviterna med Herrans strängaspel, som Konung David hade låtit göra till att tacka Herranom, att hans barmhertighet varar till evig tid, med Davids psalmer, genom deras hand; och Presterna blåste i trummeterna emot dem, och hele Israel stod.

7 And Solomon hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of Yahweh, for he offered there the ascending-sacrifices, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings, —because, the altar of bronze which Solomon had made, was not able to receive the ascending-sacrifice and the meal-offering and the fat portions.

Och Salomo helgade medelgården, som för Herrans hus var; ty han hade der offrat bränneoffer, och det feta af tackoffrena; förty kopparaltaret, som Salomo hade göra låtit, kunde icke räcka till allt bränneoffret, spisoffret, och till det feta.

8 And Solomon made a festival—at that time—for seven days, and all Israel with him, an exceeding great convocation, —from the entering in of Hamath, unto the ravine of Egypt.

Och Salomo höll på den samma tiden ena högtid i sju dagar, och hele Israel med honom, en ganska stor menighet, allt ifrå Hamath, intill Egypti bäck;

9 And they made, on the eighth day, a closing feast, —because, the dedication of the altar, they had kept seven days and a festival seven days.

Och höll på åttonde dagen ena församling; ty altarets vigning höllo de i sju dagar, och högtiden sammalunda i sju dagar.

10 And, on the twenty-third of the seventh month, he sent the people away to their own homes, —rejoicing and glad in heart, over the goodness which Yahweh had performed unto David and unto Solomon, and unto Israel his people.

Men på tredje och tjugonde dagen i sjunde månadenom lät han gå folket i deras hyddor, glädjandes och fröjdandes sig öfver allt det goda, som Herren med David, Salomo och sino folke Israel gjort hade.

11 Thus Solomon finished the house of Yahweh, and the house of the king, —and, all that had come in upon the heart of Solomon, to do in the house of Yahweh and in his own house, he prosperously executed.

Allt så lyktade Salomo Herrans hus, och Konungshuset, och allt det i hans hjerta kommet var, till att göra i Herrans huse, och i sino huse, i goda måtto.

12 Then appeared Yahweh unto Solomon by night, —and said to him, I have heard thy prayer, and have made choice of this place for myself, as a house of sacrifice: —

Och Herren syntes Salomo om nattena, och sade till honom: Jag hafver hört dina bön, och utvalt mig detta rummet till ett offerhus.

13 If I shut up the heavens that there be no rain, or if I lay command on the locust, to devour the land, —or if I send pestilence, amongst my people:

Si, om jag igenlycker himmelen, så att intet regnar, eller jag bjuder gräshoppor uppfräta landet, eller låter en pestilentie komma ibland mitt folk;

14 if my people upon whom my Name is called shall humble themselves, and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will, I myself, hear out of the heavens, and forgive their sin, and heal their land.

Att de mitt folk ödmjuka, det efter mitt namn nämndt är; och de bedja och söka mitt ansigte, och omvända sig ifrå sina onda vägar; så vill jag af himmelen höra dertill, och förlåta dem deras synder, och bota deras land.

15 Now, mine eyes, shall be open, and, mine ears, attent, —to the prayer of this place.

Så skola nu min ögon öppna vara, och min öron gifva akt på bönerna i desso rumme.

16 Now, therefore, have I chosen and hallowed this house, that my Name may be there, unto times age-abiding, —and mine eyes and my heart shall he there, all the days.

Och hafver jag nu utvalt och helgat detta hus, att mitt Namn skall vara der till evig tid, och min ögon och mitt hjerta skall vara der allstädes.

17 Thou, therefore, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, even to do according to all that I have commanded thee, —and, my statutes and regulations, thou wilt observe,

Och om du varder vandrandes för mig, såsom din fader David vandrat hafver, så att du gör allt det jag befaller dig, och håller min bud och rätter;

18 then will I establish the throne of thy kingdom, —according as I covenanted to David thy father, saying—There shall not fail thee a man, to rule over Israel.

Så skall jag befästa dins rikes stol, såsom jag mig förbundit hafver med dinom fader David, sägandes: Dig skall icke fattas en man, som öfver Israel en herre vara skall.

19 But, if, ye yourselves, shall turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, —and shall go and serve other gods, and bow down to them,

Men om I afvänden eder, och öfvergifven mina rätter och bud, som jag eder förelagt hafver, och gången bort, och tjenen andra gudar, och tillbedjen dem;

20 then will I root you out from off the soil, which I have given to you, and, this house, which I have hallowed for my Name, will I cast off from before my face, —and will appoint it for a by-word and a mockery, among all the peoples;

Så skall jag utrota dem utu mitt land, som jag dem gifvit hafver; och detta hus, som jag mino Namne helgat hafver, skall jag bortkasta ifrå mitt ansigte, och skall gifva det till ett ordspråk och en fabel ibland all folk.

21 and, this house which hath been renowned, all that pass by near it, shall be astonished, —and say, Wherefore hath Yahweh done, thus and thus, to this land, and to this house?

Och för desso huse, det aldrahögst vordet är, skola sig förskräcka alle de som der framom gå, och säga: Hvi hafver Herren så farit med desso lande, och med desso huse?

22 And men shall say, Because they forsook Yahweh the God of their fathers, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold of other gods, and bowed down to them, and served them, for this cause, hath he brought upon them, all this calamity.

Då skall man säga: Derföre, att de öfvergåfvo Herran deras fäders Gud, den dem utur Egypti land fört hade, och togo sig andra gudar, och tillbådo dem, och tjente dem; derföre hafver han låtit allt detta onda komma öfver dem.
