1 Kings 7
1 But, his own house, was Solomon thirteen years in building, —so he finished all his house.
Salomon bâtit sa maison en treize ans, et il l'acheva tout entière.
2 Yea he built the house of the forest of Lebanon, a hundred cubits, the length thereof, and, fifty cubits, the breadth thereof, and, thirty cubits, the height thereof, —upon four rows of pillars of cedar, with beams of cedar, upon the pillars;
Il construisit la maison de la Forêt du Liban, dont la longueur était de cent coudées, la largeur de cinquante coudées et la hauteur de trente coudées; elle reposait sur quatre rangées de colonnes de cèdre, et il y avait des poutres de cèdre sur les colonnes.
3 and it was covered with cedar above upon the joists, that were on forty-five pillars, —fifteen in a row.
Un toit de cèdre la recouvrait, au-dessus des chambres qui reposaient sur les colonnes, au nombre de quarante-cinq, quinze par rangées.
4 And there were, window spaces, in three rows, —and light over against light, three times.
Il y avait trois rangées de chambres, et les fenêtres se faisaient face, trois fois.
5 And, all the openings and the posts, were square in their frame, —and light was over against light, three times.
Toutes les portes et tous les poteaux étaient formés d'ais en carré, et les fenêtres se faisaient face, trois fois.
6 And, a porch of pillars, made he, fifty cubits, in length, and, thirty cubits, in breadth, —and, a porch, was on the one front of them, and pillars and threshold, were on the other front of them.
Il fit le portique à colonnes, dont la longueur était de cinquante coudées et la largeur de trente coudées, et, en avant, un autre portique avec des colonnes et des degrés devant elles.
7 And, a porch for the throne, where he should judge, even the porch of judgment, made he, and it was wainscotted with cedar, from floor to ceiling.
Il fit le portique du trône, où il rendait la justice, le portique du jugement, et il le revêtit de cèdre depuis le sol jusqu'au plafond.
8 And, his own house where he should dwell, in the other court within the porch, was, of like workmanship unto this, —a house also, made he, for the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Solomon had taken [to wife], in a similar porch.
Sa maison d'habitation fut construite de la même manière, dans une seconde cour, après le portique; et il fit une maison semblable à ce portique pour la fille de Pharaon, que Salomon avait épousée.
9 All these, were of costly stones, after the dimensions of hewn stones, sawn with saws, within and without, —even from the foundation, unto the coping, and without as far as the great court.
Toutes ces constructions étaient en pierres de prix, taillées d'après des mesures, sciées avec la scie, à l'intérieur comme à l'extérieur, depuis les fondements jusqu'aux corniches, et en dehors jusqu'à la grande cour.
10 And, the foundation, was of costly stones, large stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits.
Les fondements étaient aussi en pierres de prix, en pierres de grande dimension, en pierres de dix coudées et en pierres de huit coudées.
11 And, above, were costly stones, after the dimensions of hewn stone, and cedar.
Au-dessus, il y avait encore des pierres de prix, taillées d'après des mesures, et du bois de cèdre.
12 And, the great court round about, was of three rows of hewn stone, and a row of beams of cedar, —both to the inner court of the house of Yahweh, and to the porch of the house.
La grande cour avait dans tout son circuit trois rangées de pierre de taille et une rangée de poutres de cèdre, comme le parvis intérieur de la maison de Yahweh, et comme le portique de la maison.
13 And King Solomon sent and fetched Hiram, out of Tyre:
Le roi Salomon envoya chercher Hiram de Tyr.
14 son of a widow woman, was he of the tribe of Naphtali, but, his father, was a man of Tyre, a worker in bronze, and he was filled with wisdom, and discernment, and knowledge, for executing all manner of work in bronze, —so he came unto King Solomon, and executed all his work.
Il était fils d'une veuve de la tribu de Nephthali, mais son père était tyrien et travaillait l'airain. Il était rempli de sagesse, d'intelligence et de savoir pour faire toutes sortes d'ouvrages d'airain; il vint auprès du roi Salomon, et il exécuta tous ses ouvrages.
15 And he cast two pillars of bronze, —eighteen cubits, the height of each pillar, and, a line of twelve cubits, would surround the second pillar.
Il fabriqua les deux colonnes en airain; la hauteur d'une colonne était de dix-huit coudées et un fil de douze coudées mesurait la circonférence de la deuxième colonne.
16 And, two capitals, made he, to set upon the tops of the pillars, of molten bronze, —five cubits, was the height of the one capital, and, five cubits, the height of the other capital;
Il fit deux chapiteaux d'airain fondu, pour les placer sur les sommets des colonnes; la hauteur d'un chapiteau était de cinq coudées et la hauteur du deuxième chapiteau était de cinq coudées.
17 with a frame of checker work, wreaths of chain work, for the capitals which were upon the top of the pillars, —seven for the one capital, and seven for the other capital.
Il y avait des treillis en forme de réseaux, des festons en forme de chaînettes, aux chapiteaux qui surmontaient le sommet des colonnes, sept à un chapiteau, sept au deuxième chapiteau.
18 So he made the pillars, —and, two rows round about, upon the one frame of checker work, covering the capitals which were upon the top with pomegranates, thus also, did he for the other capital.
Il fit deux rangs de grenades autour de l'un des treillis, pour couvrir le chapiteau qui surmontait l'une des colonnes; et de même fit-il pour le second chapiteau.
19 And, the capitals which were upon the top of the pillars, were of lily work, in span, four cubits.
Les chapiteaux qui étaient sur le sommet des colonnes, dans le portique, figuraient des lis ayant quatre coudées de hauteur.
20 And there were capitals upon the two pillars, above also, close by the belly, which was beside the checker work, —and there were two hundred pomegranates, in rows round about, upon either capital.
Les chapiteaux placés sur les deux colonnes étaient entourés de deux cents grenades, en haut, près du renflement qui était au delà du treillis; il y avait aussi deux cents grenades rangées tout autour, sur le second chapiteau.
21 So he reared the pillars for the porch of the temple, —yea he reared the right pillar, and called the name thereof Jachin, and reared the left pillar, and called the name thereof, Boaz.
Il dressa les colonnes au portique du temple; il dressa la colonne de droite et la nomma Jachin; puis il dressa la colonne de gauche et la nomma Booz.
22 And, upon the top of the pillars, was lily work, —which gave finish to the work of the pillars.
Et il y avait sur le sommet des colonnes un travail figurant des lis. Ainsi fut achevé l'ouvrage des colonnes.
23 And he made a molten sea, —ten cubits from the one brim to the other, it was round all about, and, five cubits, was the height thereof, and, a line of thirty cubits, would encompass it round about.
Il fit la mer d'airain fondu. Elle avait dix coudées d'un bord à l'autre, elle était entièrement ronde; sa hauteur était de cinq coudées, et un cordon de trente coudées mesurait sa circonférence.
24 And, colocynths, were under the brim thereof round about, encompassing it, ten in a cubit, encircling the sea, round about, —two rows of colocynths, made in the casting thereof:
Des coloquintes l'entouraient, au-dessous du bord, dix par coudées, faisant tout le tour de la mer sur deux rangs; les coloquintes étaient fondues avec elle en une seule pièce.
25 standing upon twelve oxen, three looking northward, and three looking westward, and three looking southward, and three looking eastward, the sea, being upon them above, —all their hinder parts, being, inward.
Elle était posée sur douze bœufs, dont trois regardaient le nord, trois regardaient l'occident, trois regardaient le midi et trois regardaient l'orient; la mer était sur eux, et toute la partie postérieure de leur corps était cachée en dedans.
26 And, the thickness thereof, was a hand breadth, and, the brim thereof, was like the brim-work of a cup, of lily-blossoms, —two thousand baths, did it contain.
Son épaisseur était d'un palme, et son bord était semblable au bord d'une coupe, à fleur de lis. Elle contenait deux mille baths.
27 And he made ten stands of bronze, —four cubits, the length of each stand, and, four cubits, the breadth thereof, and, three cubits, the height thereof.
Il fit les dix bases d'airain; chacune avait quatre coudées de long, quatre coudées de large et trois coudées de haut.
28 And, this, was the work of the stand, there were, side walls, to them, —and, the side-walls, were between joining ledges;
Voici comment les bases étaient faites: elles étaient formées de panneaux, et les panneaux s'engageaient entre des châssis;
29 and, upon the side-walls which were between the ledges, were lions, oxen, and cherubim, and, upon the ledges, was a pedestal above, and, beneath the lions and oxen, a wreath of hanging work.
sur les panneaux qui étaient entre les châssis, il y avait des lions, des taureaux et des chérubins; et sur les châssis, par en haut, un support, et au-dessous des lions, des taureaux et des chérubins pendaient des guirlandes.
30 And, four wheels of bronze, had each stand, with axles of bronze, and, the four steps thereof, had shoulder pieces, —under the laver, were the molten shoulder-pieces, over against each wreath.
Chaque base avait quatre roues d'airain avec des essieux d'airain, et ses quatre pieds avaient des supports; ces supports fondus étaient au-dessous du bassin et au delà des guirlandes.
31 And, the mouth thereof, within the capital and upwards, was a cubit, and, the mouth thereof, was round, of pedestal work, a cubit and a half, —moreover also, upon the mouth thereof, were gravings, with their side-walls four-square, not round.
L'ouverture pour recevoir le bassin était à l'intérieur du couronnement de la base, elle était haute d'une coudée; cette ouverture était ronde, de la forme d'une base de colonne et ayant une coudée et demie de diamètre; et sur cette ouverture il y avait aussi des sculptures; les panneaux étaient carrés, et non arrondis.
32 And, four wheels, were beneath the side-walls, the axletrees of the wheels, being in the stands, —and, the height of each wheel, was a cubit and a half:
Les quatre roues étaient au-dessous des panneaux; et les essieux des roues fixés à la base; chaque roue avait une coudée et demie de hauteur.
33 and, the work of the wheels, was like the work of a chariot-wheel; and, their axletrees, and their felloes, and their spokes, and their naves, the whole, were molten.
Les roues étaient faites comme la roue d'un char; leurs essieux, leurs jantes, leurs rais et leurs moyeux, tout était fondu.
34 And there were, four shoulder-pieces, at the four corners of each stand, of the stand itself, were the shoulder-pieces thereof.
Aux quatre angles de chaque base étaient quatre supports, et ses supports étaient d'une même pièce avec la base.
35 And, in the top of the stand, half a cubit in height, was a circular piece round about, —and, on the top of the stand, the tenons thereof, and, the side-walls thereof, were of the same.
Au sommet de la base était un cercle haut d'une demi-coudée; et sur le sommet de la base, ses appuis et ses panneaux étaient d'une même pièce.
36 Then carved he, upon the plates of the tenons thereof, and upon the side-walls thereof, cherubim, lions, and palm-trees, —according to the open space of each with a wreath round about.
Sur les plaques des appuis et sur les panneaux, il grava des chérubins, des lions et des palmiers, selon l'espace libre pour chacun, et des guirlandes tout autour.
37 Thus, made he the ten stands, —one mould, one measure, one shape, had they, all.
C'est ainsi qu'il fit les dix bases; une même fonte, une même dimension, une même forme pour toutes.
38 Then made he ten lavers of bronze, —forty baths, would each laver contain, four cubits, was each laver, one laver, was on each of, the ten stands.
Il fit dix bassins d'airain; chaque bassin contenait quarante baths; chaque bassin avait quatre coudées de diamètre; chaque bassin reposait sur une base, une des dix bases.
39 And he set the stands, five on the right side of the house, and five on the left side of the house, —but, the sea, he set on the right side of the house eastward, over against the south.
Il disposa ainsi les dix bases: cinq sur le côté droit de la maison, et cinq sur le côté gauche de la maison; et il plaça la mer au côté droit de la maison, à l'est, vers le sud.
40 And Hiram made lavers, and shovels, and bowls, —and Hiram ended the doing of all the work which he wrought for King Solomon, for the house of Yahweh:
Hiram fit les chaudrons, les pelles et les coupes. C'est ainsi qu'Hiram acheva tout l'ouvrage qu'il fit pour le roi Salomon dans la maison de Yahweh:
41 two pillars, —and the bowls of the capitals which were upon the top of the two pillars, —and the two frames of checker-work, covering the two bowls of the capitals, which were upon the top of the pillars;
les deux colonnes; les deux bourrelets des chapiteaux qui sont sur le sommet des colonnes; les deux treillis pour couvrir les deux bourrelets des chapiteaux qui sont sur le sommet des colonnes;
42 and the four hundred pomegranates, for the two frames of checker-work, —two rows of pomegranates to each frame, for covering the two bowls of the capitals, which were on the face of the pillars;
les quatre cents grenades pour les deux treillis, deux rangées de grenades par treillis, pour couvrir les deux bourrelets des chapiteaux qui sont sur les colonnes;
43 and the ten stands, —with the ten lavers upon the stands;
les dix bases, et les dix bassins sur les bases;
44 and the one sea, —with the twelve oxen under the sea;
la mer, et les douze bœufs sous la mer;
45 and the pans, and the shovels, and the tossing bowls, and, all these vessels which Hiram made King Solomon, for the house of Yahweh, were of burnished bronze.
les pots, les pelles et les coupes. Tous ces ustensiles qu'Hiram fit pour le roi Salomon dans la maison de Yahweh étaient d'airain poli.
46 In the circuit of the Jordan, did the king cast them, in the clay ground, —between Succoth and Zarethan.
Le roi les fit fondre dans la plaine du Jourdain, dans un sol argileux, entre Sochoth et Sarthan.
47 And Solomon let all the vessels be, because of their exceeding great multitude, —the weight of the bronze was not found out.
Salomon laissa sans les peser tous ces ustensiles, parce qu'ils étaient en très grande quantité; le poids de l'airain ne fut pas vérifié.
48 And Solomon made all the vessels that were in the house of Yahweh, —the altar of gold, and the table of gold, whereon was the presence-bread;
Salomon fit encore tous les autres ustensiles qui étaient dans la maison de Yahweh: l'autel d'or; la table d'or, sur laquelle on mettait les pains de proposition;
49 and the lamp-holders—five on the right and five on the left, before the shrine, of pure gold, —with the blossoms, and the lamps, and the tongs, of gold;
les chandeliers d'or pur, cinq à droite et cinq à gauche, devant l'oracle, avec les fleurs, les lampes et les mouchettes d'or;
50 and the bowls, and the snuffers, and the tossing bowls, and the spoons, and the censers, of pure gold, —and the hinge-holes, for the doors of the inner house, the holy of holies, and for the doors of the house itself, the temple, of, gold.
les bassins, les couteaux, les coupes, les tasses et les encensoirs d'or pur, ainsi que les gonds d'or pour les portes de la maison intérieure, savoir du Saint des saints, et pour les portes de la maison, savoir du Saint.
51 So was completed all the work which King Solomon made for the house of Yahweh, and Solomon brought in the hallowed things of David his father—the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put in the treasuries of the house of Yahweh.
Ainsi fut achevé tout l'ouvrage que le roi Salomon fit dans la maison de Yahweh; et Salomon apporta ce que David, son père, avait consacré, l'argent, l'or et les vases, et il les déversa dans les trésors de la maison de Yahweh.
