1 Chronicles 9
1 And, all Israel, registered themselves, and lo! they are written, in the Book of the Kings of Israel, and, Judah, was carried away captive to Babylon, for their faithlessness.
Et tous ceux d’Israël furent enregistrés par généalogies; et voici, ils sont inscrits dans le livre des rois d’Israël. Et Juda fut transporté à Babylone à cause de ses péchés.
2 Now, the first inhabitants, who were in their possessions, in their cities, were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.
Et les premiers habitants qui étaient dans leurs possessions, dans leurs villes, étaient Israël, les sacrificateurs, les lévites, et les Nethiniens.
3 And, in Jerusalem, there dwelt, of the sons of Judah, and of the sons of Benjamin, —and of the sons of Ephraim, and Manasseh:
Et à Jérusalem habitèrent des fils de Juda, et des fils de Benjamin, et des fils d’Éphraïm et de Manassé:
4 Uthai son of Ammihud, son of Omri, son of Imri, son of Bani, of the sons of Perez, son of Judah.
Uthaï, fils d’Ammihud, fils d’Omri, fils d’Imri, fils de Bani, des fils de Pérets, fils de Juda.
5 And, of the Shilonites, Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.
Et des Shilonites: Asçaïa, le premier-né, et ses fils.
6 And, of the sons of Zerah, Jeuel, —and their brethren, six hundred and ninety.
Et des fils de Zérakh: Jehuel, et ses frères, 690.
7 And, of the sons of Benjamin, Sallu, son of Meshullam, son of Hodaviah, son of Hassenuah;
Et des fils de Benjamin: Sallu, fils de Meshullam, fils d’Hodavia, fils d’Hassenua;
8 and Ibneiah, son of Jeroham, and Elah, son of Uzzi, son of Michri, —and Meshullam, son of Shephatiah, son of Reuel, son of Ibnijah;
et Jibneïa, fils de Jerokham; et Éla, fils d’Uzzi, fils de Micri; et Meshullam, fils de Shephatia, fils de Rehuel, fils de Jibnija;
9 and their brethren, by their generations, nine hundred and fifty-six, —all these men, were ancestral chiefs, to their ancestral house.
et leurs frères, selon leurs générations, 956. Tous ces hommes-là étaient chefs des pères de leurs maisons de pères.
10 And, of the priests, Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, and Jachin, —
Et des sacrificateurs: Jedahia, et Joïarib, et Jakin;
11 and Azariah son of Hilkiah, son of Meshullam, son of Zadok, son of Meraioth, son of Ahitub, chief ruler of the house of God;
et Azaria, fils de Hilkija, fils de Meshullam, fils de Tsadok, fils de Meraïoth, fils d’Akhitub, prince de la maison de Dieu;
12 and Adaiah, son of Jeroham, son of Pashhur, son of Malchijah, —and Maasai son of Adiel, son of Jahzerah, son of Meshullam, son of Meshillemith, son of Immer;
et Adaïa, fils de Jerokham, fils de Pashkhur, fils de Malkija; et Mahçaï, fils d’Adiel, fils de Jakhzéra, fils de Meshullam, fils de Meshillémith, fils d’Immer;
13 and their brethren, chief men of their ancestral house, a thousand and seven hundred and sixty, —able men, for the business of the service of the house of God.
et leurs frères, chefs de leurs maisons de pères, 1 760 hommes forts et vaillants, pour l’œuvre du service de la maison de Dieu.
14 And, of the Levites, Shemaiah, son of Hasshub, son of Azrikam, son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;
Et des lévites: Shemahia, fils de Hashub, fils d’Azrikam, fils de Hashabia, des fils de Merari;
15 and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, —and Mattaniah, son of Mica, son of Zichri, son of Asaph;
et Bakbakkar, Héresh, et Galal; et Matthania, fils de Michée, fils de Zicri, fils d’Asaph;
16 and Obadiah, son of Shemaiah, son of Galal, son of Jeduthun, —and Berechiah son of Asa, son of Elkanah, who dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites.
et Abdias, fils de Shemahia, fils de Galal, fils de Jeduthun; et Bérékia, fils d’Asa, fils d’Elkana, qui habitait dans les villages des Netophathites.
17 And, the keepers of the gates, were Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, —and their brethren—Shallum the chief;
Et les portiers: Shallum, et Akkub, et Talmon, et Akhiman, et leurs frères; Shallum était le chef.
18 and, hitherto, they were in the gate of the king, eastward, —the same, were the keepers of the gate, for the camps of the sons of Levi.
Et [ils sont] jusqu’à maintenant à la porte du roi, au levant; ils étaient les portiers des camps des fils de Lévi.
19 And, Shallum, son of Kore, son of Ebiasaph, son of Korah and his brethren of his ancestral house—the Korahites, were over the business of the service, watchers at the vestibule of the tent, —and, their fathers, had been over the camp of Yahweh, watchers at the entrance.
Et Shallum, fils de Koré, fils d’Ébiasaph, fils de Coré, et ses frères, les Corites, de la maison de son père, étaient [préposés] sur l’œuvre du service, gardant les seuils de la tente: et leurs pères avaient été [préposés] sur le camp de l’Éternel, gardant l’entrée;
20 And, Phinehas son of Eleazar, was, chief ruler, over them aforetime, Yahweh, being with him.
et Phinées, fils d’Éléazar, fut autrefois prince sur eux: l’Éternel était avec lui.
21 Zechariah son of Meshelemiah, was door-keeper at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
Zacharie, fils de Meshélémia, était portier à l’entrée de la tente d’assignation.
22 All those who were chosen for door-keepers in the vestibule, were two hundred and twelve, —the same, in their villages, had registered themselves, the same, did David and Samuel the seer establish in their trust.
Tous ceux-là, choisis pour portiers des seuils, étaient 212; ils furent enregistrés par généalogies dans leurs villages; David et Samuel, le voyant, les avaient établis dans leur charge.
23 So, they and their sons, were over the gates of the house of Yahweh, of the house of the tent, by watches.
Et eux, et leurs fils, étaient [établis] aux portes de la maison de l’Éternel, de la maison de la tente, pour y faire la garde.
24 Towards the four winds, were the keepers of the gates, —eastward, westward, northward, and southward.
Les portiers étaient vers les quatre vents, à l’orient, à l’occident, au nord, et au midi.
25 And, their brethren in their villages, had to come in, every seven days, from time to time, along with these.
Et leurs frères, dans leurs villages, devaient venir de sept jours en sept jours, d’un terme à l’autre, auprès d’eux;
26 For, in trust, were four mighty men of the keepers of the gates, the same, were Levites, —and they were over the chambers, and over the treasuries of the house of God.
car, dans leur charge, ces quatre furent les principaux portiers: ils étaient Lévites; et ils étaient [préposés] sur les chambres et sur les trésors de la maison de Dieu,
27 And, round about the house of God, used they to lodge, —for, upon them, was the charge, and they were over the setting open, morning by morning.
et ils se tenaient la nuit autour de la maison de Dieu, car la garde leur en appartenait, et ils en avaient la clé, [pour ouvrir] chaque matin.
28 And, some from among them, were over the utensils of the service, —for, by number, used they to bring them in, and, by number, used they to take them forth.
Il y en avait aussi quelques-uns d’entre eux [qui étaient préposés] sur les ustensiles du service; car ils les rentraient en les comptant, et ils les sortaient en les comptant.
29 And, some from among them, were appointed over the utensils, yea over all the vessels of the holy place, —and over the fine meal, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.
Et il y en avait qui étaient préposés sur les vases, et sur tous les ustensiles du lieu saint, et sur la fleur de farine, et sur le vin, et sur l’huile, et sur l’encens, et sur les aromates.
30 And, some from among the sons of the priests, were compounders of perfumes, with the spices.
Et c’étaient des fils des sacrificateurs qui composaient les parfums avec les aromates.
31 And, Mattithiah, from among the Levites, —the same, was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite—was in trust over the making of the flat cakes.
Et Matthithia, d’entre les Lévites, premier-né de Shallum, le Corite, avait la charge de l’ouvrage des [gâteaux] cuits sur la plaque;
32 And, some from among the Kohathites, of their brethren, were over the Bread that was set in Array, —to place it sabbath by sabbath.
et des fils des Kehathites, d’entre leurs frères, [étaient chargés] des pains à placer en rangées, pour les apprêter chaque sabbat.
33 These, also were the singers, ancestral chiefs of the Levites, in the chambers, free, —for, by day and by night, was there [a charge] upon them, in the business.
Et ce sont là les chantres, chefs des pères des Lévites, qui étaient dans les chambres, étant exempts d’autres fonctions, parce que, jour et nuit, ils étaient à l’œuvre.
34 These, were the ancestral chiefs, of the Levites, by their generations, chief men, —these, dwelt in Jerusalem.
Ce sont les chefs des pères des Lévites, selon leurs générations, des chefs; ceux-là habitèrent à Jérusalem.
35 And, in Gibeon, dwelt the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, —the name of whose wife, was Maacah:
Et à Gabaon habita le père de Gabaon, Jehiel; et le nom de sa femme était Maaca.
36 and, his firstborn son, Abdon, —and Zur, and Kish, and Baal and Ner, and Nadab;
Et son fils premier-né: Abdon; et Tsur, et Kis, et Baal, et Ner, et Nadab,
37 and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloh.
et Guedor, et Akhio, et Zacharie, et Mikloth.
38 And, Mikloth, begat Shimeam—and, they also, over against their brethren, did dwell in Jerusalem, along with their brethren.
Et Mikloth engendra Shimeam. Et eux aussi habitèrent à côté de leurs frères à Jérusalem, avec leurs frères.
39 And, Ner, begat Kith, and, Kish, begat Saul, —and, Saul, begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal;
– Et Ner engendra Kis; et Kis engendra Saül; et Saül engendra Jonathan, et Malki-Shua, et Abinadab, et Eshbaal.
40 and, the son of Jonathan, was Merib-baal, —and, Merib-baal, begat Micah;
– Et le fils de Jonathan fut Merib-Baal; et Merib-Baal engendra Michée.
41 and, the sons of Micah, were Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea [and Ahaz];
Et les fils de Michée: Pithon, et Mélec, et Thakhréa.
42 and, Ahaz, begat Jarah, and, Jarah begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri, —and Zimri, begat Moza;
– Et Achaz engendra Jahra; et Jahra engendra Alémeth, et Azmaveth, et Zimri. Et Zimri engendra Motsa;
43 and, Moza, begat Binea, —and Raphaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son;
et Motsa engendra Binha: et Rephaïa, son fils; Elhasça, son fils; Atsel, son fils.
44 and, Azel, had six sons, and these are their names—Azrikam, [his firstborn], and Ishmael, and Sheariah and Obadiah, and Hanan, [and Asah]. These, were the sons of Azel.
Et Atsel eut six fils, et ce sont ici leurs noms: Azrikam, Bocru, et Ismaël, et Shearia, et Abdias, et Hanan; ce furent là les fils d’Atsel.
