1 And, Benjamin, begat Bela his firstborn, —Ashbel, the second, and Aharah, the third, —
Benjamin engendra Béla, qui fut son premier-né, Achbêl, le second, Ahrah, le troisième,
2 Nohah, the fourth, and Rapha, the fifth.
Noha, le quatrième, et Rafa, le cinquième.
3 And Bela had sons—Addar, and Gera, and Abihud, —
Béla eut des fils, à savoir: Addar, Ghêra, Abihoud,
4 and Abishua, and Naaman, and Ahoah, —
Abichoua, Naamân, Ahoah,
5 and Gera, and Shephuphan, and Huram.
Ghêra, Chefoufân et Hourâm.
6 And, these, are the sons of Ehud, —these, are the ancestral chiefs to the inhabitants of Geba, but they were carried away captive, unto Manahath;
Et voici les fils d’Ehoud: c’étaient les chefs de famille des habitants de Ghéba, qu’on déporta à Manahath,
7 and, as for Naaman and Ahijah and Gera, the same, carried them captive, —and he begat Uzza and Ahihud.
Naaman, Ahiya et Ghêra c’est celui-ci qui les déporta. Il engendra Ouzza et Ahihoud.
8 And, Shaharaim, begat children in the field of Moab, after he had sent away Hushim and Baara his wives.
Chaharaïm engendra dans la campagne de Moab, après avoir répudié Houchim et Baara, ses femmes.
9 Then begat he, of Hodesh his wife, —Jobab, and Zibia, and Mesha, and Malcam;
Il eut de sa femme Hodech: Yobab, Cibia, Mêcha, Malkâm,
10 and Jeuz, and Sachia, and Mirmah, —these, were his sons, ancestral chiefs.
Yeouç, Sakhia et Mirma. Tels furent ses fils, qui devinrent chefs de familles.
11 And, of Hushim, he begat Abitub, and Elpaal.
De Houchim il avait eu Abitoub et Elpaal.
12 And, the sons of Elpaal, Eber, and Misham, and Shemed, —he, built Ono, and Lod, and the villages thereof.
Les fils d’Elpaal furent Eber, Micheâm et Chémer. Celui-ci fut le fondateur de Ono et de Lod, avec ses dépendances.
13 And, as for Beriah and Shema, they, were ancestral chiefs to the inhabitants of Aijalon, —they, put to flight the inhabitants of Gath;
Berïa et Chéma, chefs des familles des habitants d’Ayyalôn, mirent en fuite les habitants de Gath.
14 and Ahio, Shashak, and Jeremoth, —
Ahio, Chachak, Yerêmoth,
15 and Zebadiah, and Arad, and Eder, —
Zebadia, Arad, Eder,
16 and Michael, and Ishpah, and Joha, sons of Beriah, —
Mikhaêl, Yichpa et Yoha étaient les fils de Berïa.
17 and Zebadiah, and Meshullam, and Hizki, and Heber, —
Zebadia, Mechoullam, Hizki, Héber,
18 and Ishmerai, and Izliah, and Jobab, sons of Elpaal, —
Yichmeraï, Yizlïa et Yobab étaient fils d’Elpaal.
19 and Jakim, and Zichri, and Zabdi—
Yakim, Zikhri, Zabdi,
20 and Elienai, and Zillethai, and Eliel, —
Elïênaï, Cilletaï, Elïêl,
21 and Adaiah, and Beraiah, and Shimrath, sons of Shimei, —
Adaïa, Beraya et Chimrât étaient fils de Chimeï.
22 and Ishpan, and Eber, and Eliel, —
Yochpân, Eber, Elïêl,
23 and Abdon, and Zichri, and Hanan, —
Abdôn, Zikhri, Hanân,
24 and Hananiah, and Elam, and Anthothijah, —
Hanania, Elâm, Antotiya,
25 and Iphdeiah, and Penuel, sons of Shashak, —
Yifdeya et Penouêl étaient fils de Chachak.
26 and Shamsherai, and Shehariah, and Athaliah, —
Chamcheraï, Cheharia, Atalia,
27 and Jaareshiah, and Elijah, and Zichri, sons of Jeroham:
Yaaréchia, Eliya et Zikhri étaient fils de Yeroham.
28 these, were ancestral chiefs to their generations, chief men, —these, dwelt in Jerusalem;
C’Étaient les chefs de famille, chefs selon leur généalogie. Ils habitaient Jérusalem.
29 And, in Gibeon, dwelt the father of Gibeon [Jeiel], the name of whose wife, was Maacah, —
A Gabaon demeuraient le "père" de Gabaon, dont la femme s’appelait Maakha,
30 and his firstborn son, Abdon, and Zur and Kish, and Baal and Ner and Nadab, —
son fils aîné Abdôn, Çour, Kich, Baal, Nadab,
31 and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zecher.
Ghedor, Ahio et Zékher.
32 And, Mikloth, begat Shimeah, —moreover also, they, over against their brethren, did dwell in Jerusalem, with their own brethren.
Miklôt engendra Chimea. Ceux-là aussi, à l’encontre de leurs frères, habitaient Jérusalem avec leurs frères.
33 So then, Ner, begat Kish, and, Kish, begat Saul, —and, Saul, begat Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.
Ner engendra Kich, celui-ci Saül, celui-ci Jonathan, Malki-Choua, Abinadab et Echbaal.
34 And, the son of Jonathan, was Merib-baal, —and, Merib-baal, begat Micah.
Le fils de Jonathan s’appelait Merib-Baal, qui donna le jour à Mikha.
35 And, the sons of Micah, were Pithon, and Melech, and Tarea, and Ahaz.
Les fils de Mikha furent: Pitôn, Mélec, Tarêa et Ahaz.
36 And, Ahaz, begat Jehoaddah, and, Jehoaddah, begat Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri, —and, Zimri, begat Moza;
Ahaz engendra Yehoadda, celui-ci Alémeth, Azmaveth et Zimri. Zimri engendra Moça,
37 and, Moza, begat Binea, —Raphah was his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.
celui-ci Binea, celui-ci Rafa, celui-ci Elassa, celui-ci Acêl.
38 And, Azel, had six sons, and, these, were their names—Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obediah, and Hanan and Asah, —all these, were sons of Azel.
Acêl eut six fils, dont voici les noms: Azrikâm, Bokhrou, Ismaël, Chearia, Obadia et Hanân. Tous ceux-là étaient fils d’Acêl.
39 And, the sons of Eshek his brother, were Ulam his firstborn, Jeush the second, and Eliphelet the third.
Les fils de son frère Echek étaient: Oulam, l’aîné, Yeouch, le second, et Elifélet, le troisième.
40 And the sons of Ulam became men that were heroes of valour, archers, with many sons, and sons’ sons, a hundred and fifty. All these, were of the sons of Benjamin.
Les fils d’Oulam étaient des hommes d’armes, maniant l’arc. Ils eurent nombre de fils et de petits-fils, en tout cent cinquante. Tous ceux-là étaient des Benjaminites.
