Proverbs 3
1 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
我が子よわが法を忘るるなかれ 汝の心にわが誡命をまもれ
2 For length of days, and years of life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
さらば此事は汝の日をながくし生命の年を延べ平康をなんぢに加ふべし
3 Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
仁慈と眞實とを汝より離すことなかれ 之を汝の項にむすび これを汝の心の碑にしるせ
4 So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
さらばなんぢ神と人との前に恩寵と好名とを得べし
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding:
汝こころを盡してヱホバに倚頼め おのれの聡明に倚ることなかれ
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
汝すべての途にてヱホバをみとめよ さらばなんぢの途を直くしたまふべし
7 Be not wise in thine own eyes; fear the LORD, and depart from evil:
自から看て聡明とする勿れ ヱホバを畏れて惡を離れよ
8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
これ汝の身に良薬となり汝ら骨に滋潤とならん
9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:
汝の貨財と汝がすべての産物の初生をもてヱホバをあがめよ
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy vats shall overflow with new wine.
さらば汝の倉庫はみちて余り 汝の酒醡は新しき酒にて溢れん
11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his reproof:
我子よ汝ヱホバの懲治をかろんずる勿れ その譴責を受くるを厭ふこと勿れ
12 For whom the LORD loveth he reproveth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
それヱホバはその愛する者をいましめたまふ あたかも父のその愛する子を譴むるが如し
13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
智慧を求め得る人および聡明をうる人は福なり
14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
そは智慧を獲るは銀を獲るに愈りその利は精金よりも善ければなり
15 She is more precious than rubies: and none of the things thou canst desire are to be compared unto her.
智慧は眞珠よりも尊し 汝の凡ての財貨も之と比ぶるに足らず
16 Length of days is in her right had; in her left hand are riches and honour.
其右の手には長壽あり その左の手には富と尊貴とあり
17 Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
その途は樂しき途なり その徑すぢは悉く平康し
18 She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
これは執る者には生命の樹なり これ持ものは福なり
19 The LORD by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens.
ヱホバ智慧をもて地をさだめ 聡明をもて天を置たまへり
20 By his knowledge the depths were broken up, and the skies drop down the dew.
その知識によりて海洋はわきいで 雲は露をそそぐなり
21 My son, let not them depart from thine eyes; keep sound wisdom and discretion;
我が子よこれらを汝の眼より離す勿れ 聡明と謹愼とを守れ
22 So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck.
然ばこれは汝り霊魂の生命となり汝の項の牧飾とならん
23 Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely, and thy foot shall not stumble.
かくて汝やすらかに汝の途をゆかん 又なんぢの足つまづかじ
24 When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet.
なんぢ臥とき怖るるところあらず 臥ときは酣く睡らん
25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh:
なんぢ猝然なる恐懼をおそれず 惡者の滅亡きたる時も之を怖るまじ
26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
そはヱホバは汝の倚頼むものにして汝の足を守りてとらはれしめたまはざるべければなり
27 Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.
汝の手善をなす力あらば之を爲すべき者に爲さざること勿れ
28 Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
もし汝に物あらば汝の鄰に向ひ 去て復來れ明日われ汝に予へんといふなかれ
29 Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
汝の鄰なんぢの傍に安らかに居らば之にむかひて惡を謀ること勿れ
30 Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm.
人もし汝に惡を爲さすば故なく之と争ふこと勿れ
31 Envy thou not the man of violence, and choose none of his ways.
暴虐人を羨むことなく そのすべての途を好とすることなかれ
32 For the perverse is an abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the upright.
そは邪曲なる者はヱホバに惡まるればなり されど義者はその親き者とせらるべし
33 The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked; but he blesseth the habitation of the righteous.
ヱホバの呪詛は惡者の家にあり されど義者の室はかれにめぐまる
34 Surely he scorneth the scorners, but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
彼は嘲笑者をあざけり 謙る者に恩恵をあたへたまふ
35 The wise shall inherit glory; but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
智者は尊榮をえ 愚なる者は羞辱之をとりさるべし
