Numbers 16
1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, with Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took [men]:
Y tomó Coré, hijo de Isaar, hijo de Caat, hijo de Leví; y Datán y Abirom, hijos de Eliab; y Hon, hijo de Felet de los hijos de Rubén,
2 and they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the congregation, called to the assembly, men of renown:
Y levantáronse contra Moisés con doscientos y cincuenta varones de los hijos de Israel, príncipes de la congregación, de los del consejo, varones de nombre.
3 and they assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the assembly of the LORD?
Y juntáronse contra Moisés y Aarón, y dijéronles: Bástaos, porque toda la congregación, todos ellos son santos, y en medio de ellos está Jehová: ¿por qué, pues, os levantáis vosotros sobre la congregación de Jehová?
4 And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:
Y como lo oyó Moisés, echóse sobre su rostro:
5 and he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, In the morning the LORD will shew who are his, and who is holy, and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he shall choose will he cause to come near unto him.
Y habló a Coré y a toda su compañía, diciendo: Mañana mostrará Jehová quien es suyo, y al santo hacerle ha llegar a sí: y al que él escogiere, él le llegará a sí.
6 This do; take you censers, Korah, and all his company;
Hacéd esto, tomáos incensarios, Coré y toda su compañía;
7 and put fire therein, and put incense upon them before the LORD tomorrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD doth choose, he [shall be] holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
Y ponéd fuego en ellos; y ponéd en ellos sahumerio delante de Jehová mañana; y será, que el varón que Jehová escogiere, aquel será el santo: Básteos esto hijos de Leví.
8 And Moses said unto Korah, Hear now, ye sons of Levi:
Dijo más Moisés a Coré: Oíd ahora hijos de Leví:
9 [seemeth it but] a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself; to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them;
¿Poco os es, que os haya apartado el Dios de Israel de la compañía de Israel, haciéndoos allegar a sí, para que ministraseis en el servicio del tabernáculo de Jehová, que estuvieseis delante de la congregación para ministrarles?
10 and that he hath brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee? and seek ye the priesthood also?
¿Y que te hizo llegar a ti, y a todos tus hermanos los hijos de Leví contigo, sino que procuréis también el sacerdocio?
11 Therefore thou and all thy company are gathered together against the LORD: and Aaron, what is he that ye murmur against him?
Por tanto tú, y toda tu compañía sois los que os juntáis contra Jehová: ¿que Aarón qué es, que os cuajáis vosotros contra él?
12 And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: and they said, We will not come up:
Y envió Moisés a llamar a Datán y a Abirón los hijos de Eliab; y ellos respondieron: No vendremos.
13 is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but thou must needs make thyself also a prince over us?
¿Poco es que nos hayas hecho venir de una tierra que corre leche y miel, para hacernos morir en el desierto, sino que también te enseñorees de nosotros enseñoreando?
14 Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.
Y tampoco tú no nos has metido en tierra que corre leche y miel, ni nos has dado heredades de tierras y viñas, ¿has de arrancar los ojos de estos varones? No subiremos.
15 And Moses was very wroth, and said unto the LORD, Respect not thou their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.
Entonces Moisés se enojó en gran manera, y dijo a Jehová: No mires a su presente; ni aun un asno he tomado de ellos, ni a ninguno de ellos he hecho mal.
16 And Moses said unto Korah, Be thou and all thy congregation before the LORD, thou, and they, and Aaron, tomorrow:
Después Moisés dijo a Coré: Tú y toda tu compañía ponéos delante de Jehová, tú y ellos, y Aarón, mañana:
17 and take ye every man his censer, and put incense upon them, and bring ye before the LORD every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; thou also, and Aaron, each his censer.
Y tomád cada uno su incensario, y ponéd sahumerio en ellos, y ofrecéd delante de Jehová cada uno su incensario, doscientos y cincuenta incensarios: y tú y Aarón cada uno con su incensario.
18 And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood at the door of the tent of meeting with Moses and Aaron.
Y tomaron cada uno su incensario, y pusieron en ellos fuego, y pusieron en ellos sahumerio, y pusiéronse a la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio, y Moisés y Aarón.
19 And Korah assembled all the congregation against them unto the door of the tent of meeting: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.
Y a Coré había hecho juntar contra ellos toda la compañía a la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio: Entonces la gloria de Jehová apareció a toda la congregación.
20 And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
Y Jehová habló a Moisés y Aarón, diciendo:
21 Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
Apartáos de entre esta compañía, y consumirlos he en un momento.
22 And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?
Y ellos se echaron sobre sus rostros, y dijeron: Dios, Dios de los espíritus de toda carne, ¿no es un varón el que pecó, y airarte has tú contra toda la compañía?
23 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Entonces Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo:
24 Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
Habla a la congregación, diciendo: Apartáos de en derredor de la tienda de Coré, Datán, y Abirón.
25 And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
Y Moisés se levantó, y fue a Datán, y Abirón, y los ancianos de Israel fueron en pos de él.
26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
Y él habló a la congregación, diciendo: Apartáos ahora de las tiendas de estos impíos hombres, y no toquéis ninguna cosa suya, porque no perezcáis en todos sus pecados.
27 So they gat them up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood at the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.
Y apartáronse de las tiendas de Coré, de Datán y de Abirón en derredor, y Datán y Abirón salieron, y pusiéronse a las puertas de sus tiendas con sus mujeres, y sus hijos, y sus chiquitos.
28 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the LORD hath sent me to do all these works; for [I have] not [done them] of mine own mind.
Y dijo Moisés: En esto conoceréis que Jehová me ha enviado para que hiciese todas estas obras, que no las he hecho de mi corazón.
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.
Si como mueren todos los hombres, murieren estos, y si con visitación de todos los hombres será visitado sobre ellos, Jehová no me envió.
30 But if the LORD make a new thing, and the ground open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down alive into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have despised the LORD. (Sheol h7585)
Mas si Jehová criare criatura, y la tierra abriere su boca, y los tragare con todas sus cosas y descendieren al infierno vivos, entonces conoceréis que estos hombres irritaron a Jehová. (Sheol h7585)
31 And it came to pass, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
Y aconteció, que en acabando él de hablar todas estas palabras, la tierra, que estaba debajo de ellos se rompió:
32 and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
Y abrió la tierra su boca, y tragólos a ellos, y a sus casas, y a todos los hombres de Coré, y a toda su hacienda:
33 So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit: and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly. (Sheol h7585)
Y ellos y todo lo que tenían, descendieron vivos al infierno; y la tierra los cubrió, y perecieron de en medio de la congregación. (Sheol h7585)
34 And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up.
Y todo Israel, los que estaban en derredor de ellos, huyeron al estruendo de ellos: porque decían: Porque no nos trague la tierra.
35 And fire came forth from the LORD, and devoured the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense.
Y salió fuego de Jehová, y consumió los doscientos y cincuenta hombres que ofrecían el sahumerio.
36 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Entonces Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo:
37 Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter thou the fire yonder; for they are holy;
Di a Eleazar hijo de Aarón sacerdote, que tome los incensarios de en medio del incendio, y derrame el fuego a delante, porque son santificados:
38 even the censers of these sinners against their own lives, and let them be made beaten plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are holy: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
Los incensarios de estos pecadores en sus almas; y harán de ellos planchas extendidas para cubrir el altar: por cuanto ofrecieron con ellos delante de Jehová, son santificados; y serán por señal a los hijos de Israel.
39 And Eleazar the priest took the brasen censers, which they that were burnt had offered; and they beat them out for a covering of the altar:
Y el sacerdote Eleazar tomó los incensarios de metal con que los quemados habían ofrecido, y extendiéronlos para cubrir el altar,
40 to be a memorial unto the children of Israel, to the end that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to burn incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD spake unto him by the hand of Moses.
En memorial a los hijos de Israel, que ningún extraño que no sea de la simiente de Aarón, llegue a ofrecer sahumerio delante de Jehová, porque no sea como Coré, y como su compañía, como lo dijo Jehová por mano de Moisés a él.
41 But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD.
El día siguiente toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel se quejaron contra Moisés y Aarón, diciendo: Vosotros habéis muerto al pueblo de Jehová.
42 And it came to pass, when the congregation was assembled against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tent of meeting: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
Y aconteció que como se juntó la congregación contra Moisés y Aarón, miraron hacia el tabernáculo del testimonio, y, he aquí, la nube lo había cubierto, y la gloria de Jehová apareció.
43 And Moses and Aaron came to the front of the tent of meeting.
Y vino Moisés y Aarón delante del tabernáculo del testimonio,
44 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Y Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo:
45 Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
Apartáos de en medio de esta compañía, y consumirlos he en un momento. Y ellos se echaron sobre sus rostros.
46 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take thy censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and lay incense thereon, and carry it quickly unto the congregation, and make atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.
Y dijo Moisés a Aarón: Toma el incensario, y pon en él fuego del altar, y pon sobre él perfume, y vé presto a la congregación, y reconcílialos, porque el furor ha salido de delante la faz de Jehová: la mortandad ha comenzado.
47 And Aaron took as Moses spake, and ran into the midst of the assembly; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on the incense, and made atonement for the people.
Entonces tomó Aarón, como Moisés dijo, y corrió en medio de la congregación: y he aquí que la mortandad había comenzado en el pueblo: y puso perfume, y reconcilió al pueblo.
48 And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
Y púsose entre los muertos y los vivos, y la mortandad cesó.
49 Now they that died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides them that died about the matter of Korah.
Y fueron los que murieron de aquella mortandad catorce mil y sietecientos, sin los muertos por el negocio de Coré.
50 And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tent of meeting: and the plague was stayed.
Después Aarón se volvió a Moisés a la puerta del tabernáculo del testimonio, y la mortandad cesó.
