Job 22
1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said,
是においてテマン人エリパズこたへて曰く
2 Can a man be profitable unto God? surely he that is wise is profitable unto himself.
人 神を益する事をえんや 智人も唯みづから益する而已なるぞかし
3 Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain [to him], that thou makest thy ways perfect?
なんぢ義かるとも全能者に何の歡喜かあらん なんぢ行爲を全たふするとも彼に何の利益かあらん
4 Is it for thy fear [of him] that he reproveth thee, that he entereth with thee into judgment?
彼汝の畏懼の故によりて汝を責め汝を鞫きたまはんや
5 Is not thy wickedness great? neither is there any end to thine iniquities.
なんぢの惡大なるにあらずや 汝の罪はきはまり無し
6 For thou hast taken pledges of thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing.
即ち汝は故なくその兄弟の物を抑へて質となし 裸なる者の衣服を剥て取り
7 Thou hast not given water to the weary to drink, and thou hast withholden bread from the hungry.
渇く者に水を與へて飮しめず 饑る者に食物を施こさず
8 But as for the mighty man, he had the earth; and the honourable man, he dwelt in it.
力ある者土地を得 貴き者その中に住む
9 Thou hast sent widows away empty, and the arms of the fatherless have been broken.
なんぢは寡婦に手を空しうして去しむ 孤子の腕は折る
10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee,
是をもて網羅なんぢを環り 畏懼にはかに汝を擾す
11 Or darkness, that thou canst not see, and abundance of waters cover thee.
なんぢ黒暗を見ずや 洪水のなんぢを覆ふを見ずや
12 Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are!
神は天の高に在すならずや 星辰の巓ああ如何に高きぞや
13 And thou sayest, What doth God know? can he judge through the thick darkness?
是によりて汝は言ふ 神なにをか知しめさん 豈よく黒雲の中より審判するを得たまはんや
14 Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.
濃雲かれを蔽へば彼は見たまふ所なし 唯天の蒼穹を歩みたまふ
15 Wilt thou keep the old way which wicked men have trodden?
なんぢ古昔の世の道を行なはんとするや 是あしき人の踐たりし者ならずや
16 Who were snatched away before their time, whose foundation was poured out as a stream:
彼等は時いまだ至らざるに打絶れ その根基は大水に押流されたり
17 Who said unto God, Depart from us; and, What can the Almighty do for us?
彼ら神に言けらく我儕を離れたまへ 全能者われらのために何を爲ことを得んと
18 Yet he fired their houses with good things: but the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
しかるに彼は却つて佳物を彼らの家に盈したまへり 但し惡人の計畫は我に與する所にあらず
19 The righteous see it, and are glad; and the innocent laugh them to scorn:
義しき者は之を見て喜び 無辜者は彼らを笑ふ
20 [Saying], Surely they that did rise up against us are cut off, and the remnant of them the fire hath consumed.
曰く我らの仇は誠に滅ぼされ 其盈餘れる物は火にて焚つくさる
21 Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
請ふ汝神と和らぎて平安を得よ 然らば福祿なんぢに來らん
22 Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his words in thine heart.
請ふかれの口より教晦を受け その言語をなんぢの心に藏めよ
23 If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up; if thou put away unrighteousness far from thy tents.
なんぢもし全能者に歸向り且なんぢの家より惡を除き去ば汝の身再び興されん
24 And lay thou [thy] treasure in the dust, and [the gold of] Ophir among the stones of the brooks;
なんぢの寳を土の上に置き オフルの黄金を谿河の石の中に置け
25 And the Almighty shall be thy treasure, and precious silver unto thee.
然れば全能者なんぢの寳となり汝のために白銀となりたまふべし
26 For then shalt thou delight thyself in the Almighty, and shalt lift up thy face unto God.
而してなんぢは又全能者を喜び且神にむかひて面をあげん
27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee; and thou shalt pay thy vows.
なんぢ彼に祈らば彼なんぢに聽きたまはん 而して汝その誓願をつくのひ果さん
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and light shall shine upon thy ways.
なんぢ事を爲んと定めなばその事なんぢに成ん 汝の道には光照ん
29 When they cast [thee] down, thou shalt say, [There is] lifting up; and the humble person he shall save.
其卑く降る時は汝いふ昇る哉と 彼は謙遜者を拯ひたまふべし
30 He shall deliver [even] him that is not innocent: yea, he shall be delivered through the cleanness of thine hands.
かれは罪なきに非ざる者をも拯ひたまはん 汝の手の潔淨によりて斯る者も拯はるべし
