Jeremiah 8

1 At that time, saith the LORD, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves:

೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೀಗೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, “ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸರು, ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು, ಯಾಜಕರು, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು, ಇವರೆಲ್ಲರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಮಾಧಿಗಳೊಳಗಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡುವರು.

2 and they shall spread them before the sun, and the moon, and all the host of heaven, whom they have loved, and whom they have served, and after whom they have walked, and whom they have sought, and whom they have worshipped: they shall not be gathered, nor be buried; they shall be for dung upon the face of the earth.

೨ಅನಂತರ ಅವರು ಅದನ್ನು ತಾವು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ, ಸೇವಿಸಿ, ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ, ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿ ಪೂಜಿಸಿದ ಸೂರ್ಯ, ಚಂದ್ರ ತಾರಾಗಣಗಳ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ಹರಡಿಬಿಡುವರು. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಹೂಣಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಅವು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಗೊಬ್ಬರವಾಗುವವು.

3 And death shall be chosen rather than life by all the residue that remain of this evil family, which remain in all the places whither I have driven them, saith the LORD of hosts.

೩ನಾನು ಯಾವ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ದುಷ್ಟ ವಂಶದವರನ್ನು ಅಟ್ಟಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೆನೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಜೀವಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮರಣವು ಲೇಸೆಂದು ಅದನ್ನು ಬಯಸುವರು” ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.

4 Moreover thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD: shall men fall, and not rise up again? shall one turn away, and not return?

೪ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, ಬಿದ್ದವರು ಏಳದಿರುವರೋ? ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದವನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

5 Why then is this people of Jerusalem slidden back by a perpetual backsliding? they hold fast deceit, they refuse to return.

೫ಈ ಜನರು, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್ ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗದಂತೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದದ್ದೇಕೆ? ಮೋಸವನ್ನೇ ಪಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

6 I hearkened and heard, but they spake not aright: no man repenteth him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done? every one turneth to his course, as a horse that rusheth headlong in the battle.

೬ನಾನು ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳುವಾಗ ಅವರು ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಯಾರು ತನ್ನ ಅಧರ್ಮದ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ‘ಆಹಾ, ನಾನು ಎಂಥಾ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದೆ’ ಎಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ರಭಸವಾಗಿ ಓಡುವ ಕುದುರೆಯಂತೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ತ್ವರೆಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ.

7 Yea, the stork in the heaven knoweth her appointed times; and the turtle and the swallow and the crane observe the time of their coming; but my people know not the ordinance of the LORD.

೭ಆಕಾಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರುವ ಬಕವೂ ತನ್ನ ನಿಯಮಿತ ಕಾಲಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಬೆಳವಕ್ಕಿಯೂ, ಬಾನಕ್ಕಿಯೂ, ಕೊಕ್ಕರೆಯೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಮನಾಗಮನ ಸಮಯಗಳನ್ನು ಗಮನಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ಆದರೆ ನನ್ನ ಜನರಾದರೋ ಯೆಹೋವನ ನಿಯಮವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯರು.

8 How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? But, behold, the false pen of the scribes hath wrought falsely.

೮ಹೀಗಿರಲು ‘ನಾವು ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇದೆ’ ಎಂದು ನೀವು ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ? ಆಹಾ, ಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಿಗಳ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಲೇಖನಿಯು ಅದನ್ನು ಸುಳ್ಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದೆ.

9 The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what manner of wisdom is in them?

೯ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳು ಆಶಾಭಂಗಪಟ್ಟು ಬೆಚ್ಚಿಬಿದ್ದು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಗೋ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನಿರಾಕರಿಸಿದರು.

10 Therefore will I give their wives unto others, and their fields to them that shall possess them: for every one from the least even unto the greatest is given to covetousness, from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

೧೦ಅವರ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಎಷ್ಟರದು? ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಇವರ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಇವರ ಹೊಲಗದ್ದೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಕ್ರಮಿಸುವವರಿಗೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟುಬಿಡುವೆನು. ಚಿಕ್ಕವರು ಮೊದಲುಗೊಂಡು ದೊಡ್ಡವರ ತನಕ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಾಚಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಿಂದ ಯಾಜಕರವರೆಗೆ ಸಕಲರೂ ಮೋಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.

11 And they have healed the hurt of the daughter of my people lightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

೧೧ಸಮಾಧಾನವಿಲ್ಲದ್ದಿದ್ದರೂ, ‘ಸಮಾಧಾನ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯೆಂಬಾಕೆಯ ಗಾಯವನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಮೇಲೆ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

12 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.

೧೨ಅಸಹ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದರೂ ಎಳ್ಳಷ್ಟೂ ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಲಜ್ಜೆಯ ಗಂಧವನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾನು ದಂಡಿಸುವ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಮುಗ್ಗರಿಸುವರು, ಬೀಳುವವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಿದ್ದೇ ಹೋಗುವರು ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.

13 I will utterly consume them, saith the LORD: there shall be no grapes on the vine, nor figs on the fig tree, and the leaf shall fade; and [the things that] I have given them shall pass away from them.

೧೩ನಾನು ಇವರನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮೂಲ ಮಾಡಿಬಿಡುವೆನು. ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ಬಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅಂಜೂರದ ಮರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹಣ್ಣಿರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಎಲೆಯು ಬಾಡುವುದು; ನಾನು ಹಾಳುಮಾಡುವವರನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ನೇಮಿಸುವೆನು” ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ನುಡಿ.

14 Why do we sit still? assemble yourselves, and let us enter into the defenced cities, and let us be silent there: for the LORD our God hath put us to silence, and given us water of gall to drink, because we have sinned against the LORD.

೧೪ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು, “ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವುದೇಕೆ? ಕೂಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ಕೋಟೆಕೊತ್ತಲಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ನಾಶವಾಗೋಣ. ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡಿ ಕಹಿಯಾದ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನಷ್ಟೆ.

15 We looked for peace, but no good came; [and] for a time of healing, and behold dismay!

೧೫ನಾವು ಸುಖವನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿದೆವು, ಯಾವ ಮೇಲೂ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಕ್ಷೇಮಕಾಲವನ್ನು ಎದುರುನೋಡಿದೆವು, ಹಾ, ಅಂಜಿಕೆಯೇ!

16 The snorting of his horses is heard from Dan: at the sound of the neighing of his strong ones the whole land trembleth; for they are come, and have devoured the land and all that is in it; the city and those that dwell therein.

೧೬ವೈರಿಯ ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಬುಸುಗಾಟವು ದಾನನಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಬರುತ್ತದೆ; ತುರಂಗಗಳ (ಯುದ್ಧದ ಕುದುರೆ) ಕೆನೆತದ ಶಬ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಂಪಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ಬಂದರು, ಸೀಮೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಮಸ್ತವನ್ನೂ, ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನೂ, ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.

17 For, behold, I will send serpents, basilisks, among you, which will not be charmed; and they shall bite you, saith the LORD.

೧೭ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಾವುಗಳನ್ನು, ಮಂತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧೀನವಾಗದ ನಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುವೆನು; ಅವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಚ್ಚುವವು” ಎಂದು ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದಾನೆ.

18 Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! my heart is faint within me.

೧೮ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ನನ್ನ ದುಃಖಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊನೆಯಿಲ್ಲವೇ? ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ನನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ಕುಂದಿಹೋಗಿದೆ.

19 Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: Is not the LORD in Zion? is not her King in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with strange vanities?

೧೯ಆಹಾ, ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯೆಂಬಾಕೆಯು, “ಯೆಹೋವನು ಚೀಯೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ಅದರ ರಾಜನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವ ಶಬ್ದವು ದೂರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ಇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳ ಶೂನ್ಯರೂಪಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಏಕೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೆಣಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ” ಎಂದು ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ.

20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

೨೦ಸುಗ್ಗಿ ತೀರಿತು, ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಕಾಲ ಮುಗಿಯಿತು, ನಮಗೆ ಉದ್ಧಾರವೇ ಆಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

21 For the hurt of the daughter of my people am I hurt: I am black; astonishment hath taken hold on me.

೨೧ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯೆಂಬಾಕೆಯ ವೇದನೆಯಿಂದ ನನಗೆ ಮನೋಯಾತನೆಯಾಯಿತು, ನಾನು ಶೋಕಿಸಿದೆನು, ಭಯವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದಿದೆ.

22 Is there no balm in Gilead? is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered?

೨೨ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಔಷಧವಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವೈದ್ಯನು ಸಿಕ್ಕನೋ? ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯೆಂಬಾಕೆಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಗುಣವಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ?
