Jeremiah 2
1 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
੧ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਇਆ
2 Go, and cry in the ears of Jerusalem, saying, Thus saith the LORD, I remember for thee the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals; how thou wentest after me in the wilderness, in a land that was not sown.
੨ਕਿ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ-ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲੀਂ, ਉਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਬੀਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
3 Israel [was] holiness unto the LORD, the firstfruits of his increase: all that devour him shall be held guilty; evil shall come upon them, saith the LORD.
੩ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਲਈ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਦੀ ਪੈਦਾਵਾਰ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਫਲ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਨਗੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਆਵੇਗੀ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
4 Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel:
੪ਹੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਲੋਕੋ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਟੱਬਰੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੋ
5 thus saith the LORD, What unrighteousness have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?
੫ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਅਨਿਆਈਂ ਲੱਭੀ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਕੰਮੀ ਮੂਰਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗ ਕੇ ਨਿਕੰਮੇ ਬਣ ਗਏ?
6 Neither said they, Where is the LORD that brought us up out of the land of Egypt; that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, through a land that none passed through, and where no man dwelt?
੬ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਆਖਿਆ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ? ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਲੈ ਆਇਆ, ਜਿਹਨੇ ਉਜਾੜ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਡੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ, ਥਲ ਅਤੇ ਟੋਇਆਂ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ, ਔੜ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਯੇ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ, ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਜਿਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੰਘਦਾ, ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ।
7 And I brought you into a plentiful land, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination.
੭ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵਧੀਆ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ, ਭਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਪਦਾਰਥ ਖਾਓ, ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੜ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਘਿਣਾਉਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
8 The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the rulers also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit.
੮ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਆਖਿਆ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ? ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ, ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਕੀਤਾ, ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਬਆਲ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕ ਕੀਤਾ, ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਲੱਗ ਗਏ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ।
9 Wherefore I will yet plead with you, saith the LORD, and with your children’s children will I plead.
੯ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਫਿਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜਾਂਗਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨਾ ਝਗੜਾਂਗਾ।
10 For pass over to the isles of Kittim, and see; and send unto Kedar, and consider diligently; and see if there hath been such a thing.
੧੦ਕਿੱਤੀਮ ਦੇ ਟਾਪੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੰਘੋ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਜਾਂ ਕੇਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਲੋ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਗੌਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੋਚੋ, ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਭਈ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਗੱਲ ਕਿਤੇ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ!
11 Hath a nation changed [their] gods, which yet are no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit.
੧੧ਕੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੌਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ? ਪਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਦਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਲਾਭ ਨਹੀਂ।
12 Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD.
੧੨ਹੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ੋ, ਇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਵੋ, ਬਹੁਤ ਡਰ ਜਾਓ ਤੇ ਉੱਕੇ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ! ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.
੧੩ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਬੁਰਿਆਈਆਂ ਜੋ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ, - ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੇ ਸੋਤੇ ਨੂੰ, ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਚੁਬੱਚੇ ਪੁੱਟੇ, ਟੁੱਟੇ ਹੋਏ ਚੁਬੱਚੇ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਦਾ।
14 Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn [slave]? why is he become a prey?
੧੪ਕੀ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਉਹ ਮੁੱਢੋਂ ਗੁਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੁੱਟ ਬਣਿਆ?
15 The young lions have roared upon him, and yelled: and they have made his land waste; his cities are burned up, without inhabitant.
੧੫ਜੁਆਨ ਬੱਬਰ ਸ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੁੱਬਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਕੱਢੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦੇਸ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸਾੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
16 The children also of Noph and Tahpanhes have broken the crown of thy head.
੧੬ਨਾਲੇ ਨੋਫ਼ ਅਤੇ ਤਹਪਨਹੇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਨੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੀ ਖੋਪੜੀ ਭੰਨੀ।
17 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way?
੧੭ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਆਪ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਆਈ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਤਿਆਗਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਰਾਹੇ ਰਾਹ ਲਈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ?
18 And now what hast thou to do in the way to Egypt, to drink the waters of Shihor? or what hast thou to do in the way to Assyria, to drink the waters of the River?
੧੮ਹੁਣ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਨੀਲ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਵੇਂ? ਅਤੇ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਲਾਭ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਦਰਿਆ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਵੇਂ?
19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and a bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord, the LORD of hosts.
੧੯ਤੇਰੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕੇਗੀ, ਤੇਰਾ ਫਿਰ ਜਾਣਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਝਾੜ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ, ਜਾਣ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਬੁਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੌੜੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਭੈਅ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not serve; for upon every high hill and under every green tree thou didst bow thyself, playing the harlot.
੨੦ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਚਿਰੋਕਣਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਜੂਲਾ ਭੰਨ ਛੱਡਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਤੋੜ ਸੁੱਟੇ। ਤੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਮੈਂ ਟਹਿਲ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਂਗੀ! ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਹਰ ਉੱਚੇ ਟਿੱਬੇ ਉੱਤੇ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਹਰੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਹੇਠ ਵਿਭਚਾਰ ਲਈ ਝੁੱਕ ਗਈ।
21 Yet I had planted thee a noble vine, wholly a right seed: how then art thou turned into the degenerate plant of a strange vine unto me?
੨੧ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਖਰੀ ਦਾਖ ਕਰਕੇ ਲਾਇਆ। ਜੋ ਸਰਾਸਰ ਖਾਲ਼ਸ ਬੀ ਤੋਂ ਸੀ, ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਦਾਖ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਗੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਕੁੰਬਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਗਈ?
22 For though thou wash thee with lye, and take thee much soap, yet thine iniquity is marked before me, saith the Lord GOD.
੨੨ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਧੋਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਸਾਬਣ ਵਰਤੇ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਦੀ ਦਾ ਦਾਗ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
23 How canst thou say, I am not defiled, I have not gone after the Baalim? see thy way in the valley, know what thou hast done: [thou art] a swift dromedary traversing her ways;
੨੩ਤੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਆਖ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਈ, ਮੈਂ ਬਆਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਈ? ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ, ਜਾਣ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕੀ ਕੁਝ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਤੇਜ਼ ਊਠਣੀ ਹੈਂ!
24 a wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind in her desire; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.
੨੪ਇੱਕ ਜੰਗਲੀ ਗਧੀ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਦੀ ਗਿੱਝੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੇਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਵਾ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਘਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਸਤੀ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਕੌਣ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਡੱਕ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਲਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਥੱਕਣਗੇ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ।
25 Withhold thy foot from being unshod, and thy throat from thirst: but thou saidst, There is no hope: no; for I have loved strangers, and after them will I go.
੨੫ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗੇ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਕੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾ। ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੁਝ ਆਸ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਪਰਦੇਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਜੋ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗੀ।
26 As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so is the house of Israel ashamed; they, their kings, their princes, and their priests, and their prophets;
੨੬ਜਿਵੇਂ ਚੋਰ ਜਦ ਫੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ, ਉਹ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜਾਜਕ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਬੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
27 which say to a stock, Thou art my father; and to a stone, Thou hast brought me forth: for they have turned their back unto me, and not their face: but in the time of their trouble they will say, Arise, and save us.
੨੭ਉਹ ਰੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਣਿਆ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਹੀਂ, ਪਰ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ਉੱਠ ਤੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ।
28 But where are thy gods that thou hast made thee? let them arise, if they can save thee in the time of thy trouble: for according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah.
੨੮ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ? ਉਹ ਉੱਠਣ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਸਕਣ। ਹੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਕੁ ਤੇਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਹਨ, ਓਨ੍ਹੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਹਨ!
29 Wherefore will ye plead with me? ye all have transgressed against me, saith the LORD.
੨੯ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜੋਗੇ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
30 In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion.
੩੦ਮੈਂ ਐਂਵੇਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾ ਮੰਨਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੜੱਪ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬੱਬਰ ਸ਼ੇਰ।
31 O generation, see ye the word of the LORD. Have I been a wilderness unto Israel? or a land of thick darkness? wherefore say my people, We are broken loose; we will come no more unto thee?
੩੧ਓਏ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਹੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਦਾ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰੋ। ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਲਈ ਉਜਾੜ, ਜਾਂ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ? ਤਦ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਹਾਂ, ਅਸੀਂ ਫਿਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਨਾ ਆਵਾਂਗੇ?
32 Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? yet my people have forgotten me days without number.
੩੨ਕੀ ਕੋਈ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਹਿਣੇ, ਜਾਂ ਲਾੜੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਸ਼ਿੰਗਾਰ ਭੁੱਲ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ? ਪਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੇ ਅਣਗਿਣਤ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੁਲਾ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
33 How trimmest thou thy way to seek love! therefore even the wicked women hast thou taught thy ways.
੩੩ਤੂੰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਭਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਸੁਆਰਦੀ ਹੈਂ! ਭਈ ਤੂੰ ਬੁਰੀਆਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਸਿਖਾਏ ਹਨ!
34 Also, in thy skirts is found the blood of the souls of the innocent poor: I have not found it at the place of breaking in, but upon all these.
੩੪ਨਾਲੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ ਕੰਗਾਲਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਲੱਭਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਨ੍ਹ ਲਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ, ਪਰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ,
35 Yet thou saidst, I am innocent; surely his anger is turned away from me. Behold, I will enter into judgment with thee, because thou sayest, I have not sinned.
੩੫ਤੂੰ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ ਹਾਂ! ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਟਲ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ
36 Why gaddest thou about so much to change thy way? thou shalt be ashamed of Egypt also, as thou wast ashamed of Assyria.
੩੬ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਰਾਹ ਬਦਲਣ ਲਈ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈਂ? ਤੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਲੱਜਿਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਂਗੀ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਅੱਸ਼ੂਰ ਤੋਂ ਲੱਜਿਆਵਾਨ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ।
37 From him also shalt thou go forth, with thine hands upon thine head: for the LORD hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them.
੩੭ਉੱਥੋਂ ਵੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਨਿੱਕਲੇਗੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੱਦ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
