2 Samuel 16
1 And when David was a little past the top [of the ascent], behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of asses saddled, and upon them two hundred loaves of bread, and an hundred clusters of raisins, and an hundred of summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.
೧ದಾವೀದನು ಗುಡ್ಡದ ತುದಿಯ ಆಚೆಗೆ ಹೋದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ಚೀಬನು ತಡಿಹಾಕಿದ ಎರಡು ಕತ್ತೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಇನ್ನೂರು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನೂರು ಒಣಗಿದ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿ ಗೊಂಚಲುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನೂರು ಅಂಜೂರ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಒಂದು ಬುದ್ದಲಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ ಹೇರಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಂಡನು.
2 And the king said unto Ziba, What meanest thou by these? And Ziba said, The asses be for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as be faint in the wilderness may drink.
೨ಅರಸನು ಚೀಬನನ್ನು, “ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾಕೆ ತಂದಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು, “ಅರಸನ ಮನೆಯವರು ಸವಾರಿಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕತ್ತೆಗಳನ್ನು, ಆಳುಗಳು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹಣ್ಣು ಮತ್ತು ರೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳನ್ನು, ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ದಣಿದವರು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ತಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
3 And the king said, And where is thy master’s son? And Ziba said unto the king, Behold, he abideth at Jerusalem: for he said, Today shall the house of Israel restore me the kingdom of my father.
೩ಅರಸನು ತಿರುಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಮಗನು ಎಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾನೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವನು, “ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಮರಳಿ ತನಗೇ ಕೊಡುವರೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅವನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲೇ ಉಳಿದನು” ಅಂದನು
4 Then said the king to Ziba, Behold, thine is all that pertaineth unto Mephibosheth. And Ziba said, I do obeisance; let me find favour in thy sight, my lord, O king.
೪ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಮೆಫೀಬೋಶೆತನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿನ್ನದೇ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಅವನು, “ಅರಸನೇ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾಷ್ಟಾಂಗ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆ ದೊರಕಲಿ” ಎಂದನು.
5 And when king David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out thence a man of the family of the house of Saul, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera: he came out, and cursed still as he came.
೫ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಬಹುರೀಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಸೌಲನ ವಂಶದವನೂ, ಗೇರನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಶಿಮ್ಮೀಯು ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಆ ಊರಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದನು.
6 And he cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David: and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
೬ಅವನು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೂ, ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೂ, ಎಡಬಲದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸೈನಿಕರಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಶೂರರಿಗೂ ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆಯ ತೊಡಗಿದನು.
7 And thus said Shimei when he cursed, Begone, begone, thou man of blood, and man of Belial:
೭ಅವನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ, “ಹೋಗು ಕೊಲೆಗಾರನೆ, ನೀಚನೆ ಹೋಗು,
8 The LORD hath returned upon thee all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose stead thou hast reigned; and the LORD hath delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom thy son: and, behold, thou art [taken] in thine own mischief, because thou art a man of blood.
೮ಸೌಲನ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ಮನೆಯವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿ ತೀರಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆತನು ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಬಿಟ್ಟನು. ಕೊಲೆಗಾರನೇ ಇಗೋ, ನಿನಗೆ ಈಗ ತಕ್ಕ ಆಪತ್ತು ಬಂದಿದೆ” ಎಂದನು.
9 Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.
೯ಆಗ ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಬೀಷೈಯು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಈ ಸತ್ತ ನಾಯಿ, ಅರಸನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸುವುದೇನು? ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಾಗಲಿ. ನಾನು ಅವನಿರುವಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ಹಾರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುವೆನು” ಎಂದನು.
10 And the king said, What have I to do with you, ye sons of Zeruiah? Because he curseth, and because the LORD hath said unto him, Curse David; who then shall say, Wherefore hast thou done so?
೧೦ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು, “ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಕ್ಕಳೇ, ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೇನು ಮಾಡಿದೆ? ಬಹುಶಃ ಅವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ‘ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸು’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ‘ನೀನು ಹೀಗೇಕೆ ಮಾಡಿದಿ?’ ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವವರು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
11 And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more [may] this Benjamite now [do it]? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.
೧೧ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಅಬೀಷೈಗೂ ತನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೂ, “ನೋಡಿರಿ, ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನನು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಯಾವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಾತು? ಬಿಡಿರಿ, ಅವನು ಶಪಿಸಲಿ. ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
12 It may be that the LORD will look on the wrong done unto me, and that the LORD will requite me good for [his] cursing of me this day.
೧೨ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನ್ನ ಕಷ್ಟವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಈ ಹೊತ್ತಿನ ಶಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ನನಗೆ ಶುಭವನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸಾನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
13 So David and his men went by the way: and Shimei went along on the hill side over against him, and cursed as he went, and threw stones at him, and cast dust.
೧೩ದಾವೀದನೂ ಅವನ ಜನರೂ ದಾರಿ ಹಿಡಿದು ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ಶಿಮ್ಮಿಯು ಶಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ, ಕಲ್ಲೆಸೆಯುತ್ತಾ, ಮಣ್ಣೆರೆಚುತ್ತಾ ಗುಡ್ಡದ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲೇ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
14 And the king, and all the people that were with him, came weary; and he refreshed himself there.
೧೪ಅರಸನೂ ಅವನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದಣಿದವರಾಗಿ, ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ಸ್ಥಳವನ್ನು ಸೇರಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶ್ರಮಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
15 And Absalom, and all the people the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
೧೫ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಡನೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದನು. ಅಹೀತೋಫೇಲನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದನು.
16 And it came to pass, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, was come unto Absalom, that Hushai said unto Absalom, God save the king, God save the king.
೧೬ಅರ್ಕಿಯನೂ ದಾವೀದನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಹೂಷೈಯು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, “ಅರಸನು ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ, ಅರಸನು ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದನು.
17 And Absalom said to Hushai, Is this thy kindness to thy friend? why wentest thou not with thy friend?
೧೭ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ “ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಿನಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿ ಇಷ್ಟೇತಾನೇ? ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತನೊಡನೆ ಯಾಕೆ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ?” ಅಂದನು.
18 And Hushai said unto Absalom, Nay; but whom the LORD, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, his will I be, and with him will I abide.
೧೮ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೂಷೈಯು, “ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ ಯೆಹೋವನೂ, ಈ ಜನರೂ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೂ ಯಾರನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೋ ನಾನು ಅವನ ಪಕ್ಷದವನಾಗಿರುತ್ತೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುವೆನು.
19 And again, whom should I serve? [should I] not [serve] in the presence of his son? as I have served in thy father’s presence, so will I be in thy presence.
೧೯ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾನು ಈಗ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವುದು ರಾಜಪುತ್ರನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸೇವೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
20 Then said Absalom to Ahithophel, Give your counsel what we shall do.
೨೦ಅನಂತರ ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನು, “ನಾವು ಈಗ ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದೇನು? ಆಲೋಚನೆ ಹೇಳು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
21 And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father’s concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.
೨೧ಆಗ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನು, “ಹೋಗಿ ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಮನೆಕಾಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿರುವ ಅವನ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಯರೊಡನೆ ಸಂಗಮಿಸು. ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಾದರೆ ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ವೈರಿಯಾಗುವೆ ಎಂದು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಕ್ಷದವರು ಬಲಗೊಳ್ಳುವರು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
22 So they spread Absalom a tent upon the top of the house; and Absalom went in unto his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
೨೨ಆಗ ಅವರು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಗುಡಾರ ಹಾಕಿದರು. ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಉಪಪತ್ನಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಗಮಿಸಿದನು.
23 And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
೨೩ಆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಹೀತೋಫೆಲನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ದೈವೋತ್ತರಗಳಿರುವಷ್ಟು ಬೆಲೆಯಿತ್ತು. ದಾವೀದನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮನೂ ಅವನ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
