Titus 2
1 You however, should speak of such subjects as properly have a place in sound teaching.
sino que digan lo que conviene a la sana doctrina,
2 Teach that the older men should be soberly clear minded, dignified and self-controlled – sound in faith, love, and patient endurance.
que los hombres mayores sean templados, sensatos, de mente sobria, sanos en la fe, en el amor y en la perseverancia,
3 So, too, that the older women should live reverent lives, not slanderers, not slaves to excessive drinking.
y que las mujeres mayores sean igualmente reverentes en su conducta, no calumniadoras ni esclavas del mucho vino
4 They should teach what is good, so as to train the younger women to love their husbands and children,
que instruyan a las mujeres jóvenes en el amor a sus maridos, en el amor a sus hijos,
5 and to be self-controlled, pure-minded, to be watching over their home, to be kind, respecting the authority of their husbands, so that no one will speak badly of God’s message.
que sean sobrias, castas, trabajadoras en el hogar, bondadosas, sometidas a sus propios maridos, para que la palabra de Dios no sea blasfemada.
6 In the same way with the younger men – encourage them to be self-controlled.
Asimismo, exhorta a los más jóvenes a ser sobrios.
7 In all things, set an example of doing good. In your teaching, show integrity and seriousness –
En todo, muéstrate como ejemplo de buenas obras. En tu enseñanza, muestra integridad, seriedad, incorruptibilidad,
8 let the instruction that you give be sound and above reproach, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed when they fail to find anything bad to say about us.
y solidez de palabra que no pueda ser condenada, para que el que se oponga a vosotros se avergüence, sin tener nada malo que decir de nosotros.
9 Tell slaves to respect their owner’s authority in all circumstances, and to try their best to please them.
Exhorta a los siervos a que estén sujetos a sus propios amos y sean agradables en todo, sin contradecir,
10 Teach them not to contradict or to pilfer, but to show such praiseworthy fidelity in everything, as to recommend the teaching about God our Savior by all that they do.
sin robar, sino mostrando toda buena fidelidad, para que adornen en todo la doctrina de Dios, nuestro Salvador.
11 For the loving kindness of God has been revealed, bringing salvation for all,
Porque la gracia de Dios se ha manifestado, trayendo la salvación a todos los hombres,
12 leading us to renounce ungodliness and worldly desires, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives here in this present age, (aiōn g165)
instruyéndonos para que, renunciando a la impiedad y a los deseos mundanos, vivamos en este tiempo sobria, justa y piadosamente; (aiōn g165)
13 while awaiting our blessed hope – the appearing in glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.
aguardando la esperanza bienaventurada y la manifestación de la gloria de nuestro gran Dios y Salvador Jesucristo,
14 For he gave himself on our behalf, to deliver us from all wickedness, and to purify for himself a people who should be truly his own and eager to do good.
que se entregó a sí mismo por nosotros, para redimirnos de toda iniquidad y purificar para sí un pueblo que le pertenezca, celoso de buenas obras.
15 Tell them of all this, and encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone belittle you.
Decid estas cosas y exhortad y reprended con toda autoridad. Que nadie os desprecie.
