Esther 6
1 On that night the king was unable to sleep, so he gave orders to bring the books that recorded memorable deeds, and they were read before the king.
Ону ноћ не могаше цар спавати, и заповеди те му донесоше књигу од знаменитих догађаја, дневнике, те је читаше цару.
2 It was found recorded how Mordecai had furnished information regarding Bigthan and Teresh, two of the king’s attendants who guarded the entrance of the palace, who had attempted to kill King Ahasuerus.
И нађе се записано како је Мардохеј проказао за Вихтана и Тереса, два дворанина, који чуваху стражу на прагу, да гледају да дигну руке на цара Асвира.
3 “What honor and dignity have been conferred on Mordecai for this?” the king asked. When the king’s pages who waited on him replied “Nothing has been done for him,”
Тада рече цар: Каква је част и како је добро учињено Мардохеју за то? А момци цареви, слуге његове, рекоше: Није му учињено ништа.
4 the king said, “Who is in the court?” Now Haman had just entered the outer court of the king’s house to speak to the king about hanging Mordecai on the gallows that he had prepared for him.
А цар рече: Ко је у трему? А Аман беше дошао у спољашњи трем двора царевог да каже цару да се обеси Мардохеј на вешала која му је приправио.
5 So the king’s pages said to him, “Haman is standing there, in the court.” The king said, “Let him enter.”
А момци цареви рекоше му: Гле, Аман стоји у трему. А цар рече: Нека дође.
6 So Haman entered, and the king said to him, “What should be done for the man whom the king wishes to honor?” Haman said to himself, “Whom besides me could the king wish to honor?”
И Аман дође, а цар му рече: Шта треба учинити човеку ког цар хоће да прослави? А Аман рече у себи: Кога би цар хтео прославити ако не мене?
7 So he said to the king, “For the man whom the king wishes to honor
И рече Аман цару: Кога цар хоће да прослави,
8 let a royal garment be brought, which the king has worn, and the horse on which the king has ridden and on whose head a royal diadem has been placed.
Треба донети царско одело које цар носи, и довести коња на коме цар јаше, и метнути му на главу венац царски;
9 Then let the garment and the horse be placed in charge of one of the king’s noble officials. Let him clothe the man whom the king wishes to honor and let him lead that man on the horse through the city square, proclaiming before him, ‘This is what is done for the man whom the king wishes to honor.’”
И одело и коња треба дати коме између највећих кнезова царевих да обуку човека оног ког цар хоће да прослави, па да га проведу на коњу по улицама градским и вичу пред њим: Овако бива човеку кога цар хоће да прослави.
10 Then the king said to Haman, “Make haste and take the garment and the horse, as you have said, and do this to Mordecai the Jew, who sits in the king’s gate. Omit nothing of all you have said.”
Тада рече цар Аману: Брже узми одело и коња као што рече, и учини тако Мардохеју, Јудејцу који седи на вратима царевим; немој изоставити ништа што си рекао.
11 So Haman took the garment and the horse and clothed Mordecai, and made him ride through the city square and proclaimed before him, “This is what is done for the man whom the king wishes to honor.”
И узе Аман одело и коња, и обуче Мардохеја и проведе га на коњу по улицама градским вичући пред њим: Овако бива човеку кога цар хоће да прослави.
12 Mordecai returned to the king’s gate, but Haman hurried to his house, mourning, with his head covered.
Потом се врати Мардохеј на врата царева, а Аман брже отиде кући својој жалостан и покривене главе.
13 Haman recounted to Zeresh his wife and to all his friends everything that had happened to him. Then his wise men and Zeresh his wife said to him, “If Mordecai before whom you have already been humiliated is of the Jewish people, you can do nothing against him but will surely fall before him.”
И приповеди Аман Сереси, жени својој и свим пријатељима својим све што му се догоди. Тада му рекоше мудраци његови и Сереса жена његова: Кад је од јудејског семена Мардохеј пред којим си почео падати, нећеш му одолети, него ћеш пасти пред њим.
14 While they were still talking with him, the king’s attendants came and quickly took Haman to the banquet that Esther had prepared.
И док они још говораху с њим, дођоше дворани цареви и брже одведоше Амана на обед који зготови Јестира.
