< Psalms 96 >

1 Sing to the Lord a new song, sing to the Lord, all the earth.
When the house was built after the Captivity, a Song of David. Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing to the Lord, bless his name, from day to day herald his victory.
Sing to the Lord, bless his name: proclaim his salvation from day to day.
3 Tell his glory among the nations, his wonders among all peoples.
Publish his glory among the Gentiles, his wonderful works among all people.
4 For great is the Lord and worthy all praise; held in awe, above all gods:
For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is terrible above all gods.
5 for all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord created the heavens.
For all the gods of the heathen are devils: but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Before him are splendour and majesty, beauty and strength in his holy place.
Thanksgiving and beauty are before him: holiness and majesty are in his sanctuary.
7 Ascribe to the Lord, you tribes of the nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Bring to the Lord, ye families of the Gentiles, bring to the Lord glory and honour.
8 Ascribe to the Lord the glory he manifests: bring you an offering, enter his courts.
Bring to the Lord the glory [becoming] his name: take offerings, and go into his courts.
9 Bow to the Lord in holy array: tremble before him, all the earth.
Worship the Lord in his holy court: let all the earth tremble before him.
10 Say to the nations, ‘The Lord is king.’ The world stands firm to be shaken no more. He will judge the peoples with equity.
Say among the heathen, The Lord reigns: for he has established the world so that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people in righteousness.
11 Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice, let the sea and its fulness thunder.
Let the heavens rejoice, and the earth exult; let the sea be moved, and the fullness of it.
12 Let the field, and all that is in it, exult; let the trees of the forest ring out their joy
The plains shall rejoice, and all things in them: then shall all the trees of the wood exult before the presence of the Lord:
13 before the Lord: for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world with justice and the nations with faithfulness.
for he comes, for he comes to judge the earth; he shall judge the world in righteousness, and the people with his truth.
