Psalms 8

1 For the leader: A psalm of David, to be accompanied by a stringed instrument. Lord our God! How glorious in all the earth is your name! Your praise reaches as high as the heavens,

Al Músico principal: sobre Gittith: Salmo de David. OH Jehová, Señor nuestro, ¡cuán grande es tu nombre en toda la tierra, que has puesto tu gloria sobre los cielos!

2 from the mouths of children and infants. You have built a fortress against your enemies, to silence the foe and the rebel.

De la boca de los chiquitos y de los que maman, fundaste la fortaleza, á causa de tus enemigos, para hacer cesar al enemigo, y al que se venga.

3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set there,

Cuando veo tus cielos, obra de tus dedos, la luna y las estrellas que tú formaste:

4 what are mortals, that you think of them, humans, that you visit them?

[Digo]: ¿Qué es el hombre, para que tengas de él memoria, y el hijo del hombre, que lo visites?

5 Yet you made them little less than divine, crowned them with glory and majesty,

Pues le has hecho poco menor que los ángeles, y coronástelo de gloria y de lustre.

6 made them lord of the works of your hands, put all things under their feet –

Hicístelo enseñorear de las obras de tus manos; todo lo pusiste debajo de sus pies:

7 sheep and oxen, all of them; and the wild beasts also:

Ovejas, y bueyes, todo ello; y asimismo las bestias del campo;

8 birds of the air, and fish of the sea, and all that crosses the paths of the ocean.

Las aves de los cielos, y los peces de la mar; todo cuanto pasa por los senderos de la mar.

9 Lord our God! How glorious in all the earth is your name!

Oh Jehová, Señor nuestro, ¡cuán grande es tu nombre en toda la tierra!
