Psalms 41

1 For the leader; for Jeduthun. A psalm of David. Happy are those who consider the weak; in the day of misfortune the Lord will deliver them.

Para el músico principal. Un salmo de David. Dichoso el que considera a los pobres. Yahvé lo librará en el día del mal.

2 He will keep them safe, happy, and long in the land, and not give them up to the rage of their foes.

Yahvé lo preservará y lo mantendrá con vida. Será bendecido en la tierra, y no lo entregará a la voluntad de sus enemigos.

3 The Lord will sustain them on bed of languishing; tending their sickness, as long as they lie.

Yahvé lo sostendrá en su lecho de enfermo, y restaurarlo de su lecho de enfermedad.

4 For this cause I say, ‘Lord, show me your favour; heal me, because I have sinned against you.’

Dije: “¡Yahvé, ten piedad de mí! Cúrame, porque he pecado contra ti”.

5 My enemies speak of me nothing but evil, ‘When will he die, and his name pass away?’

Mis enemigos hablan mal de mí: “¿Cuándo morirá y perecerá su nombre?”

6 When one comes to see me, their words ring hollow; their heart keeps gathering mischief the while; and when they go out, they give it speech.

Si viene a verme, habla con falsedad. Su corazón recoge la iniquidad para sí mismo. Cuando va al extranjero, lo cuenta.

7 In secret they whisper together against me, all those who hate me plot evil against me.

Todos los que me odian susurran juntos contra mí. Se imaginan lo peor para mí.

8 ‘Some fatal disease has fastened upon him; and now that he lies, he will rise up no more.’

“Una mala enfermedad”, dicen, “lo ha afligido. Ahora que yace no se levantará más”.

9 My most trusted friend, on whom I relied, who ate of my bread, has turned against me.

Sí, mi propio amigo familiar, en quien confié, que comió el pan conmigo, ha levantado su talón contra mí.

10 But do you, Lord, graciously raise me up, that I may pay them their due reward.

Pero tú, Yahvé, ten piedad de mí y levántame, para que yo les pague.

11 By this will I know you delight in me: if my foes may not shout over me in triumph.

Por esto sé que te deleitas en mí, porque mi enemigo no triunfa sobre mí.

12 For my innocence you uphold me, and set me forever before your face.

En cuanto a mí, me sostienes en mi integridad, y ponme en tu presencia para siempre.

13 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting, Amen and Amen.

Benditosea Yahvé, el Dios de Israel, ¡desde la eternidad y hasta la eternidad! Amén y amén.
